I love DEWC slugs. They are devastating on small game. I have them in 32, 38, 44 and 45 cals. I use a separate taper crimp die where possible. I'm sure you know but for those who don't, the collar on your expander/ flare die will hold that funnel nicely. Very handy when loading on a Lee turret press. Thanks for the vid! 😊
I want to do an accuracy comparison between the rim rock DEWC and LEE TL-314-90-SWC. It will be interesting to see. Test gun will be Colt Police positive made in 1911. It has a 4” pencil barrel and it’s off the V frame I believe.
Cool to find your channel. I just bought a post war .32 hand ejector. I've been looking at reloading for it and came across the Sierra SJHP 90 grain bullet. Have you tried that one at all? I'm wondering if the exposed lead will allow it to expand at .32 long velocity.
I’ve loaded that exact bullet in 32 S&W Long up to 900 fps and got no expansion in water or meat targets. Only time nose deformed was when it hit bones in meat target. 900 fps is as warm as I’m willing to load a jacketed 90 grain in the 32 long for my police positive. If you want a bullet that will expand in 32 long try Speer gold dot 60 grain meant for 32 acp. I’ve got that bullet to expand. You could also use LEE 314-90-swc bullet cast from soft lead powder coated and loaded to 950 fps. Powder coat is so soft lead bullet doesn’t lead bore at those speeds. The soft lead swc will mushroom nice when it hits muscle and bones of the intended target. Hope this info helps.
@@jw-sigp2258 Thanks for the info. Disappointing to hear that sierra bullet doesn't expand at .32 long velocities BUT not surprising either. I'll try to find some gold dot 60 grain bullets but I'm not sure they put them out for reloaders any more.
