Some marital partners are truly incapable of either handling of learning about the family finances. In that case, the one more adept at finances needs to step in. Although I don't hide anything from my wife and she knows exactly how much money I make and have in savings, I handle everything and she feels relieved that she doesn't have that responsibility. I give her a generous weekly allowance for her needs and for anything she wants to get for the kids and I encourage her to save some of it weekly for minor emergencies. She also makes offering to church and helps her relatives although I told her I don't think it's necessary since I already give to those things for the entire family. In addition, we have cash in reserve for catastrophic situations which I let her handle If either she or the kids need something in addition, I'm likely to step up and get it for them.

How do I get my man to tithe?! 😖 I have explained the principle… I have basically begged and pleaded… we’ve listened to sermons about giving and why it’s important. And his heart is hardened. I faithfully tithe, but I feel like we are not getting as blessed as we could be! because my old man refuses to tithe! Is it not a joint effort here? If I’m tithing 10% of my check, but he isn’t… will that withhold my blessings?! I mean , I have been truly blessed. We are first time home owners. I need a partner in tithing! I want our entire household, land, ect. To be blessed! Anybody that has any ideas please help me! Please pray that Jermey will tithe!

Just let God touch his heart. I tithe and give over and above , he hangs on to every penny. It’s fine with me because I’m obedient to God. He may never give to God but in my opinion you do what God tells you to do bottom line .

I wouldn't treat tithing like a transaction to buy God's gifts with money. I think that's not the right motive to tithe

@@amywalsh4006 I know that’s how that might read… but I promise that is not why I tithe. I have just seen the fruition behind my tithing and I would like my old man to see these things as well. Tithing is the only place in the entire Bible that God says test me on this. . . And he has proved time and time again that my little bit of money can go a long way. If I never got another thing from God… I would still be so thankful! If I never got approved to buy a home and we were still living in an extended stay… I would still be praising Him. Because God pulled me out of heroin addiction, and open heart surgery was his tool. I am so grateful! I hear you though Amy! And you are right! God knows my heart ☺️ if I tithed just to get gifts… I don’t think he would give me any. Haha . I’m really just trying to figure out a way for my old man to start trusting God with his money. (I know this will be an issue on judgement day, and I don’t want him left behind!) so the gifts, blessing thing was one of my reasonings to him… and this video was about money… so I was hoping someone could help… maybe give me a different way to approach my man to give. Have a blessed day 😇

Ok I see where you are coming from. I'm really happy that you have overcome so much and that your faith in God is strong. I'm not married at this stage but the only thing that comes to mind is that God loves a cheerful giver and so he has to want to give, rather than pursuaded. From my understanding (and I could be wrong), the "tithe" we give nowadays is more of a love offering. I heard someone who teaches the Bible say that tithing was more tied to the Levitical priesthood and that it doesn't apply to us. Rachel Stephens speaks on it on youtube. She can be a little blunt but means well and frequently uses scripture to back up her statements. Could be worth looking at a different perspective at least.
Thanks for being understanding anyway. God bless and I hope you have some breakthrough, God willing

@@amywalsh4006 you gave me a lot to ponder upon. I’ve never looked at it from the perspective that tithing was really for the Levitical priesthood. And you are right again about it being a love offering. Maybe instead of approaching it like “it’s a law” … I should approach it like it a love thing! Thankyou again Amy! I really appreciate your response. And I will go check out some more videos to research tithing some more. It would definitely help to research it more before I try to get someone else to do it. My only real reference is Robert Morris. And he’s pretty strict on the matter. However I have disagreed with him before. (He said when Jesus went down to hell that’s when he locked satan up and so his 1000 year lock up had already “started” or was technically done.) I disagree. Jesus went and got the keys and released the saints. If satan was locked up there wouldn’t be all the sin in the world… Jesus is locking satan up with He has his 1000 year reign. Only my opinion though. I love sister! I hope you have a super blessed day. Thankyou for edifying me!

Where do you find men that understand this? Or the ones who don’t understand but are open to seeking information.. sigh
