I recall being at the start of Hidden Land on my first playthrough around bedtime. I'd already played a bit, and decided to stop after Brine Cave. However... I decided to play some more in bed. Just 1 more dungeon. The story got better, I had to know what happened next. So then came the Dusknoir fight, and Temporal Tower. I was so drawn into the story. I completed the main storyline that night. I was quite tired the following morning, but I didn't mind it. I had the time of my life playing the game. And one of the few instances I cried to a videogame during that time as well. That OST will come somewhat soon after this one, I expect.
The *Hidden Lands* the music in this dungeon is just amazing. The first time i did this dungeon this which impressed me is that there were Pokemon like *Garchomp* *Dragonite* *Magmortar* and other huge Pokemon.
yeah i wish I could play this game for the first time all over again, this is my favorite ever game, I'm very musically inclined and have been ever since I was born and this game's soundtrack gives me such a high
Listening to this fills me with a sense of longing. Maybe for my first playthrough. Everything about this game felt so real. More real than my actual life as a kid. Feels like it was so long ago...
Pokemon is the most beautiful thing that there is it is so emotional and so much more. no words can describe it, you either feel it or not. it shaped me so much
It sounds almost sad, it's like the game knows how we felt and how we would feel. This is probably the only game that if it were to be real I would love to be part of it.
Whenever I listen to this, I want to wander off somewhere far away. Somewhere isolated, yet beautiful, the infinite landscapes of nature and color sprawling as far as I can see
My absolute favorite song in the series, nothing screams "adventure into the unknown" more than this. This part of the story, the stakes at hand, the looming melancholy feeling the song gives off, and knowing you're nearing the end of your journey just makes it that much better.
To be honest. I really liked grovyle And to see that this was the last time all 3 of us were going to be together at the game made me sad. I cherish this music.
This long legit sounds mystical. It's fit for a land that many didn't even know existed, a land thought of as a simple myth. The Pokémon living here actually kinda fit with the "mystical" tone. Also the song sounds kinda sad as if your journey is nearing it's end.
god, i picked this game up at what, 7? 9 years old?? im 18 now and this song STILL has such a lasting impression on me. literally stood next to lapras for hours just to listen to this gem and delay the inevitable
I genuinely hear this song when I’m tripping , not just a throwback but saying that the bizarreness in this theme that conveys what the hidden land is my days , what an absolute gem of a game and a soundtrack the leitmotifs kill me to this day I love this theme , the caution and mystery to the sound of adventure ; so beautiful all throughout
It’s a song that is designed to make the player, (even on their first playthrough) that something terrible and sad was about to happen. The game was preparing the Players emotions for the the events that take place after the dungeon
This theme always gave me a "You've gone far this time... perhaps... too far" kind of vibe. It's creepy yet emotional, conveying what is about to unravel to the protagonists.
i remember this being the part where i couldnt get any further as a kid lmao now, over 9 years after getting this game with my ds, i'm going to go back and try to complete the entire game.... this was my first videogame back then, but now i have a lot more experience under the belt. wish me luck i guess
So many pseudo legendaries and powerful Pokemon here… It feels incredibly appropriate for them to show up in one of the last dungeons in the main story. It really gives you the impression that reaching the pinnacle of Temporal Tower won’t be a pushover at all.
@@bobbysauce64 yes it actually did but your right and not to mention it is a hard dungeon all the pokemon are really strong it took me a bunch of trys to get through it all😊
Masterful piece, how to make the player feel both calm with the soft tones but also feel increasing anxiety as 3 dragonites and a magmortar enter the room
Honestly this track sounds like something you'd hear more in a Final Fantasy game (well it reminds me of a track in Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of Light) than a Pokemon game. It's such a good song.
This place reminds me of paradise, since it's said to be a garden also and the Hidden Land is quite lush. I loved this place when i played the game first time, and even "recreated" the floating island in minecraft and in drawings. Very cool, much recommended. I also love the stone ruins theme, arcane knowledge engraven in walls, that kind of stuff. A bit sad you cannot stay on the museum part of it and walk around normally, like in the junction between the ice island and the ice cave (forgot the names, i used to know it all but i'm getting old it seems) altough they took it away also when you finish the ice cave? I don't know small details make it all tbh. The same with entrances, i get they may do it for speed in the after game, but it's a bit sad to lose entrance roaming since the art is quite beautiful. At least we got the entrance to the first dungeon still there xD. Peace be with you anyways.
I don't know if anyone realizes it, but this game is at the highest level of Story writing. The best written "Pokemon" game and it's not even a game of the main series.
I remember crying so much around this part because not only was I terrible at the game (I had just started to read in my first language so I did not understand english much if at all) but I also was horribly underleveled so I kept getting obliterated to dust.... good theme tho!
i feel it like a too sunny and too hot land where there is nothing just you, your sweat and your deep hunger/thirst (if I made any mistakes, pls, correct me, I'm Italian and I studied English at school💚)
-14 F: Gets monster house and wasted all my revivers and items -15 F Gets into ANOTHER monsterhouse and the stairs is inside that room, have no items to by pass it and dies -16 F, Checkpoint

The hidden land.. it was a difficult dungeon but knowing the fate of the world was threatened it kept me playing well into the night as a kid

Hidden Lands. The only place where a Chikorita can defeat a Magmortar and a Dragonite in a row.

Mystifying, calming yet slightly unsettling. This whole soundtrack is a masterpiece.

This song perfectly captures a feeling of something ancient and time either not flowing or flowing very slow. Masterfully composed.
Yeah it does, and still i wonder to how they manage to make story related songs sound like they belong to the story.
modal writing, nonfunctional harmony
Kyu theres quite a bit of functional harmony in here esp in the bridge. Either way a style of writing isn’t enough to create the right feeling
This track gives me _VERY_ strong classical JRPG vibes.
This song just pops into my head occasionally, even though it's been so long since I played the game. It's so haunting and beautiful...
