I really liked that. The steering wheel turned out very nice. The "clear" colors - whether Tamiya or Mr. Hobby/Gunze - are unfortunately underestimated by many model builders.
I have just got back in to modelling after a few decades. I've just done some wood effect, on a 1970's Dodge Challenger. I didn't know about this technique, thank you for showing us. I will definitely do it this way from now in. 🙏
Your work is incredible. I am a great admirer. I’d love to see how you display all your built creations. It must be quite a sight to see them all together. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I just used your technique on a rear-mounted storage case for a classic car model. It came out great! The clear over-painting is a superb idea.
Great video and awesome result thanks for the tips and explanation now ill be able to make my woodgrain steering wheels in all my old ferrari kits look realistic
Adding the transparent orange was a "wait, what just happened?" moment. Was dubious... now, jaw on the floor. Fergit Manscaped... this is the way fer yer wallnuts.
Great look - I’m going to use it on my Patrol Boat (PT) 109 helm (steering wheel). Your technique seems to be the best looking & the one most likely to produce a great look in the scale I’m working in (1:72). Is there anything else you can think of adding or have developed since, you might advise?
Excelente tutorial! Obrigado!
I really like modeling and I have decided to start in it. But here in the United States I can't find Zero Paints and the one that looks best is the Vallejo. You think it could be good for airbrush. Thanks and great video.
I know that acrylic paint can be thinned with water, so I am wondering if there was a particular reason you thinned the Vallejo acrylics with air brush cleaner?🤔
Eventhough acrylic paints say they are “waterbased” they aren’t really actually waterbased. The airbrush cleaner is acrylic paint cleaner/thinner. And works a lot better for thinning than water
It looks great. The wood grain effect is very realistic. I have been trying to do this but have never figured out how, thank you so much!
Wait what it’s jun’s mini garage that’s kind of funny I’m subscribed to both of you
Turned out sensational. Awesome paint trick

looks great!
I‘m still in love with the outcome!
Good decision to make it a separate video. When I‘m in need for a tutorial on this technich I‘ll find it easily.
The details you do on these cars are very awesome, so you have another subscriber now

Really nice technique. I'll be trying this out on my Alfa Romeo Alfetta I'm making.
Thanks for that tip. I'm really pleased with how my e-type walnut steering wheel came out. 🙂
I like the way the end result was not too dark. Thank you!

Tried your technique on an unditching log for a T-62a I'm building. It's the best I've ever achieved. Just needs a flat coat to finish.
Wow! That is a really cool effect, thanks for sharing this tip. 😀
Marvelous. Thank you!
Saludos y respetos desde Venezuela, muy interesante este video de cómo pintar un efecto de madera veteada, estupenda técnica💯💯💯💯🤘🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯💯🙏🙏

Excellent work and very nice videos....just subscribed.
Looks great! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Amazing skills. Looks beautiful, like walnut veneer you'd find in a Bentley.
Ah it’s the clear orange that seals the deal. I mentioned the wheel in your last video as part of the highlight of that vid.
Adding the transparent orange was a "wait, what just happened?" moment. Was dubious... now, jaw on the floor. Fergit Manscaped... this is the way fer yer wallnuts.
Thank you for sharing this video. Very helpful and I’m going to give it a go. Artie 👍
Fantastic job 👍
Great job
Fantastic! Thank you! 👌👍😉
cool, i have a boat i need to try some brightwork on.
Brilliant tutorial! Love how you step by step explain the process. Really useful.
Would you use a non tinted clear for any specific wood effect?
Maybe a lighter wood
Very nice!

Great video, think it turned out great. Rick 🤓✌️
Wow!! very nice thank u sir!!
That looks great! No issues I take it using the Tamiya paint which is quite "hot" over the vallejo acrylics?
The tamiya paint used was also acrylic. So no problem at all
Big thanks man! I want to do it on Cadillac Fleetwood All Weather Phateon 1933 ;)
Wow thx I was wondering how done this
VERy cool!
The was awesome, I have a dashboard to do, very timely.
Excelente tutorial!

Try scale finishes. Or gravity color. Vallejo is not that great for airbrushing
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Can you recommend any brand that I can find in the United States? I do not know. Createx or Trestor ... something like that.
@@yayogp5411 like i said. Try scale finishes or gravity colors
@@TheScalemodelingChannel thanks. i found it. Gravity Colors.
How long should we let each of them dry before applying the other one?
After a minute or so the layers are dry. You can also use a hair dryer to speed up the drying
Paint magician
Looks like an excellent technique for painting bakelite. Thanks for the tutorial!
Big fan
Is there a reason you used Vallejo instead of tamiya for the other than clear orange?
I had them available. Thats it
thhis would look good for a Tanegashima with that effect
What is the dry time between layers/coats?
Couple minutes
are you want to make part 4 of e-type jag?
super :)

@@TheScalemodelingChannel Thank you for the info, as I am about to try your woodgrain process, as well as your window tinting process!
Ik heb zelf pitriet gebruikt als hout voor het stuur. Maar dit is ook een prima techniek! Mooi resultaat!
🙇♂️....👏👏👏
