Wow Michi! You packed a lot of inspiration into only 8 minutes! That’s very impressive! I never realised that paradiddles variations are perfect for this. I’m so happy I got to see this lesson. Thank you 🫡✅✨✌🏻

great video as always; I find Daily Drum Lesson content to be among the most useful/applicable information. Just to add to the conversation, when there is a ghost note just ahead of the main note I have seen those referred to as a 'pull-out', and when there is a ghost note just AFTER the main note, its called an 'accented note'

Thanks, that was crystal clear in both explanation and execution - as usual. I especially liked your added touch of the offbeats with the left foot during your paradiddle inversions. I’ll try to develop my use of those hi-hat foot-chicks in a ‘dialogue’ with the ride (and of course with ghost notes on the snare).

Nice. I love Ghost notes. This was really helpful, even for me as a bass player. In making back tracks for my songs, I'm starting to focus on keeping it simple while also trying to retain as many interesting dynamics as possible, so that if I were to hand the transcriptions to a new drummer, they should be able to play it. Knowing now that ghosts before the backbeat is the more difficult option, I might avoid it or at least use it sparingly. Thanks again for sharing your work with us my friend! It's always helpful and enjoyable!

As always a pleasure to hear from you. You really should avoid these ghosts in front of backbeats if you want drummers to play this. I mean it always depends on the tempo, but it is just brutal.

I definitely need to work on this. One major problem I have is hitting my sticks against each other depending where I'm trying to place the ghost notes. My next issue is what you addressed. A ghost note after the back beat. That's difficult

Incredible lesson! Hice idea to divide 'em in 4 levels, bc when I was trying to learn 'em it was just one exercise with all 4 lvls in one, and i was too dumb not to split it.
