Hi Mark, another good honest video, I love the way your always trying different approaches and looking at ways to improve on time tested rigs and kit. Thanks for sharing and tight lines.
I always have my base rigs to fall back on but every mark/species can have those tweak to improve or make efficient. I really liked the detachable snoods for this type of fishing for easier baiting and unhooking. 🎣🎣🎣
Great session again. Always use an unclippable snood where I can, makes it much easier as long as there's not too much weed as clips help catch it. Also helps with changing hook sizes etc.
Love the way you're always trying something different, always feel like I've got something else to give a go next time I go out after watching 1 of your video's , great content
I always have my default rigs to fall back on but I am keen to learn and every mark can fish differently. Part of it for me is to adjust what you have or return with modifications. It makes me happy if they are useful to you. 🎣👍🏻
@@seaangling Extremely helpful to me ,. spent a long time away from fishing due to health reasons but this past year I've been getting back in to it , getting the gear back together and the fact I'm just round the coast in Portsmouth most videos are from places I know or have heard of so are even more helpful
This weather has been relentless and fishing has suffered from the amount of fresh water running out of the rivers/estuaries. Let’s hope the fish are ravenous when we get a break.
I wondered how the freshwater would effect your session actually, but you done well. I was going to try the Hamble on Sunday but with the weather forecasted I’m going to give it a miss I think😂. Iv allready been blown of the beach twice since Christmas, I can wait a bit longer😁
Yeh and some frosts, usually makes the flatty bashing better. I’m on a project in Lymington for the nxt 10 months do you what the fishing is like in the harbour there please? I drive past it if I take the bealieu road out of Lymington. I will definitely be trying for bass on my paddle board in the summer😁
@@seaangling wonder how it would fish in the boat out front 😁 we used to use slipper limpets and done well but i think there banned now unless i suppose you managed to snag a few at the venue 😁🏴☠️👍
Well done Mark👏👏. A short fruitful session, and you learnt a bit.🎣🎣🎣🧑🎓 Modified rig seems to work well.👍 It would be nice if all marks had streetlights.🤣🤣 Educational and enjoyable video. 😃Your enthusiasm still shines through, even in the freezing wet weather.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
Everyday is a school day and I love the challenge and keeping my mind thinking. The lighting along here is amazing. 😂 The weather was really grim but still nice to be out dipping a line. 🎣👍🏻
Hi mark you ok mate, well done on your fish. I love flounder and dab fishing this time of the year . Your rod was banging away behind your back lol, i bet i miss a lot of bites when running two rods and its hectic n ive got my head down baiting up or whatever hahaha. All the best from GRIMSBY.
It’s funny isn’t it, I would never have known about that bite until I saw it during editing. I guessed I had something on it by the way it loaded but that was spectacular for a flounder bite. It does make you wonder what else we miss 🤷♂️ All the best buddy. 🎣🎣👍🏻
Great vid again Mark and very interesting rig.... I really like the idea of those detachable snoods.... Every time I watch your vids I always end up making new rigs 😂... Love how you're prepared to experiment try different things tho
I have my goto rigs that are always the same but I do like to experiment and it is usually reacting to something I don’t like. Trying to unhook fish in the last video was a pain trying to do it still attached but was loads easier detached. 🎣👍🏻
Nice one Mark, I got caught on Chesil with a big storm coming in, went to pack the rods up before the storm hit and got a huge static shock from the rods, big pretty blue spark. Got packed up but caught by the storm before I could get off the beach, ended up looking like a drowned rat.
We live on the isle of man and it's tough getting any quantity of fresh lug and especially rag almost like gold dust even if you know a good spot, what do you recommend if you can't get either as an alternative?
There are suppliers that will mail order but I’m not sure on the speed of delivery to the I.O.M. I think black lug would carry better than ragworm. If it is difficult to get on the island is it a relevant bait, are sand eel a better prospect?
I do buy frozen sandeel mackerel and blueys but I'm targeting flounder n plaice so I guess theirs always a chance as you know you get some unexpected catches like a mate of mine caught an 8lb thin lip grey mullet on shrimp feather and I said u foul hooked it but ont of the shrimp feathers was right in the scissors, I'll have to wait until all these post strikes are definitely over and make a few enquiries about delivery but hopefully weather will pick up and I can get back to collecting my own and freezing any surplus. I just have alot of back problems so it's not an easy job and it's a hell of a long walk as digging bait in the harbour is prohibited even though no boats moore its a bylaw, some fool dug a huge trench for bait alongside a yacht and as the tide came in it slipped and caused 50k of damage to the boat he was right beside and broke the mast off another boat so now none of us are allowed to dig bait. Thanks for your reply 👍 tight lines
hi mark, great video as always, can i ask where abouts this is, i had a look around what i thought was poole harbour but couldnt find that wall and want to take a disabled person with me so it looks ideal
No I didn’t. There was no crab activity and baits were undisturbed. I thought I would increase my chances with both rods using the 3 hook flapper. The shorter snoods were the version Shane showed me who is local to the mark.
Slightly off subject but do you know if there is any date or time restrictions for fishing where you are. I've passed there a lot but never thought you could fish there. I'm in Norfolk so a long way to come if there are any of the above. Like your vids by the way, very natural.
Hi mate enjoyed the 2 video's some nice flounder in not so nice conditions not sure I agree with the guy throwing his fag butt into the water when you caught that bass I always take mine home or in a bin but then not everybody seems to appreciate what we have as a sport look forward to the next video mate tight lines
Hi Nick, The conditions over the last 2 sessions was worse than the film shows. I wasn’t filming when we had the worst of the rain and I’ve edited most of the wind sound out. Possibly plaice next. 🎣👍🏻
Nice account of floundering in my beloved home town Poole! No problem with crabs this time then...
No crab activity at all but I did have pop up rigs as standby.

Well done Mark.

Thank you, very much appreciated. 🎣👍🏻
what size snood links please fella. Really looking forward to this rig make
They were short, 7-8”
I think anything between 6-9” would work.
Great vidio Mark .I will use the clips ,I think it is a good idea.

Are you going to do a video of you making a rig with detachable snoods
Yes buddy, next film in making.
Hey Mark, great vid, many thanks, interested to know which rods & reels are you using?
They are the very reasonable Shakespeare Agilities (12’6”) which are very light/tippy, ideal for flounder/plaice.
Hi mark, would you consider using termalinks for detachable snoods?
You could use Termalinks but they may be too bulky/heavy compared to the Gemini rig snood clips.
