When I got my first break as a pilot it was an on the spur offer to work in Vietnam back in the noughties. First week in Ho Chi Minh, walking down Quang Trung I heard that unmistakable whop whop whop whop whop whop sound, just a f***ing Huey flying low to land in Tan Son Nhat. I didn't know at the time they captured loads of them and still operate them to this day. I can't tell you how surreal that was, just like the movies. Sorry, not quite on topic, I know :|
Love Vietnam loadouts ... probably comes from watchiing 'Tour of Duty' (aka Nam: Tour of Duty) all the time as a id. To my shame I don't have an infantry loadout, been thinking of getting one, but even repro 3rd patterns are expensive in New Zealand. So all I have is a quasay SEAL/SF/SOG repro tiger suit and M56. Nice loadout mate.
68-ish if I recall. But pretty uncommon for infantry types to get issued with them. The 30rd mags tended to go to the sneaky beaky SF types. That said, you see the odd picture of an infantry guy with a 30rd mag, but way more common to see the 20rd mags throughout the war. They also tended to download the mags (both the 20 and 30rd types) by a couple of rounds supposedly to help counteract stoppages caused by mud and grime getting into the magazine. How effective that actually would have been is beyond my knowlege, but like lots of things, grunts tended to copy what someone who seemed to be more experienced did, in the hopes of upping their chances of surviving to DEROS day, even if they didn't understand exactly why they were doing the thing (remember for the most part you're talking about scared 19 and 20 year old kids who had been drafted, so superstitious behavior abounded).
those hipster sleeve tattoos aren't very historically accurate Gaz! Didn't see those until circa 2013/2014, by which time I'm told most US troops had pulled out! 😆
Have you thought of doing an Historical loadout? Let us know which one.
Just a few :)
I've never done an airsoft loadout that wasn't historical
maybe not historical, but definetley impression kits with my modern russian loadouts
I didnt relaise how much I had missed this content, Welcome back lads!
Thanks mate. More to come now we have a new home site to film on.
Awesome, I might have to take a trip over when the weather gets better for a long overdue catch up and pew@@AnvilAirsoftTV
Would be great to see you.

That would be so weird. Thanks for telling us about it.
Weird trivia, the tabs to take out the waist was still in use on US BDU maternity uniform up until the switch to the ACU uniform in 2007
They were deleted from the jungle uniform mainly for 'combat' reasons, the snagging i mention and also they could rub the sides when wearing webbing.
Fascinating stuff, keep them coming.
We will when we have the kit.
Great video. Keep em coming.
Thanks, will do!
always love these impression videos, far too many airsofters dont put much effort into their kits
Glad you like them!
Great video, keep em coming 👍
Thanks, will do!
Absolutely amazing stuff!
Thanks, I added more fire to the thumbnail :)!
Brilliant, love these videos
Thanks. They are fun to make.
Goooood Morning Vietnam!
Awesome Video!

Hey thanks for watching and the kind words.
Nice one buddy and spot on!! NOW for SOG GEAR!! (:
There is a more generic Vietnam SF video on the channel.
Great to see another video. How about an Aussie Vietnam loadout ?
I’m not sure we have the kit. We could look at it.
Good vid!
Glad you enjoyed it
when did the 30rd mags come into issue?
68-ish if I recall.

As said above. Quite late on and they were never widely issued.
Well, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
Cool
