Oh my Gosh !!! I sure wish I could do that as good as you do Katie !! I'm going to practice...for the first time ever !!! I have never ever thought that I would ever be trying this out...it's really exciting !!! Thank you for sharing this with us !!!👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️
Very well and clear explained. I like to dance it soft. With a half up circle before you step. I count it: 4&1 2&3 4&1 2&3. It's difficult to teach new students video's like this is really helpfull, thank you!
I have learnt this step as the Hagala step / shimmy and the Basic Egyptian Step is a step touch going forward with a hip accent (vertical lift on the hip that is the 'touch' foot)
I once saw an Egyptian belly dancer counting '1-2' for the first step and '3-4' for the sidekicks with the hips. I think it is more accurate because that kind of longer pause with the first step is quite typical for hagalla. The other way of counting is right for a 3/4 shimmy, in my view.
Oh you're so lucky you get to live in Egypt I wanted to go there ever since I was a little kid and I still do I live in the u.s. In the state of California way up in the forest but I've always loved Egypt I love doing Egyptian painting and my dream is to have my whole living room with Egyptian painting on the walls and I will also make Egyptian statues because I have access to unlimited clay it's an absolutely wonderful place in my opinion
Katie Can you explain IN BRIEF the difference between Hagalla and 3/4 shimmy ? As both the movements look similar and every teacher got their own way to explain, & i find you can solve this doubt of mine. 🙏🏼
Hi Aditya! No problem at all lovely and great question! A 3/4 shimmy is done on on a horizontal plane, whilst the hagalla / Egyptian walk is done with a twist :) I'll make up a 3/4 shimmy video to explain this is more detail if you'd like?
i just learned this in about an hour and a half - thank you so much ♥️ i cant stop!!
Love to see somebody doing something they clearly enjoy.
I'm Egyptian and your dance is good and thanks for saying it's Egyptian dance 😍😍😍

Wooaaah 😳 great
I don't get why my brain can't do this one particular move 😡
Well that’s okay because your body knows how to do it. So relax your brain and allow your body to guide you.
my dance teacher recommended using it every time one was walking to the fridge 😂 it's a though move to pull tho
Me with the snake arms and figure 8
Is Camel walk same as hagala? Great!
Miss Katie very lovely and beautiful tutorial on Egyptian walk. elegant and graceful. Another great tutorial would be snake arms or hip shimmies?

Thank you so much Sushma 😀
Duuu duu duuuu duu duuuu
Duu duu duuu deee duu deee duuuuu
Its Egyptian dance
This is a 3/4 shimmy walk not the Egyptian... The Egyption is a step touch with a sharp hip bump...
To fast to catch up
Just pause the video and do it step by step
öğrenmesi çok çok sinir bozucu
WTF? Sorry, but this means nothing to me and obviously to other potential dancers on here.
My dance is different from it.. Trying my best to get the moves perfectly 🥹
