  • A Review of my Invicta 9937 Pro Diver. I bought this originally out of curiosity but I was pleasantly surprised when I got it.
    I note that I say "crappy" Invicta referencing the other model. My intention is not so say it is a bad watch, because it is not, I am just kind of a blunt person and have refined my speech in later reviews. Please forgive me for any sort of misunderstanding that this may have caused.
    Purchased Black Friday, 2018.

    Dude, I have that exact same watch along with the 8926OB. The difference is the movement and the bracelet with solid end links and that's about it. The crystal as far as performance is the same. The weight is heavier on the 9937 due to the bracelet with solid end links. I paid $56 for the 8926OB AND $270 for the 9937. The 9937 with the supposed Sellita SW200 Swiss movement needed regulation right away because it was so off. The beat error was at 0.8 and was running slow at nearly 17 sec in 24 hours. Amplitude was strong once fully wound but easily dips down in the 190s in less than 10 minutes even after full wound. That is not the case with the NH35A on the 8926OB. Story short, the 8926OB performs better as far as the accuracy which really took me by surprise. Until Invicta improve their QC to the 9937 line, I'd recommend the 8926OB for a budget homage piece. If one is willing to spend $200-$300 for an homage, I'd suggest save up some more and take a chance on Steinhart. Steinhart's QC is better than Invicta and you can always return the watch and get your money back if need be with Steinhart. You can't say the same for Invicta, sad to say. Invicta's customer service is notoriously bad. Stick with the 8926OB for those reading this post and is considering buying an Invicta Pro Diver homage.

    Thanks for the honest review. Like most of us, I caught my watch collection "bug" buying Invictas. My tastes have changed dramatically over the years and I have moved away from Invicta. Recently, I've been craving a 40mm subbie homage, looking at Steinhart, Squale, Davosa and Ginault. Thanks to your video, I've now included the Invicta 99370B in the mix. I have to say that you remind me of me with your comment of sweating the scratches on your Invicta, let alone a $10K Submariner. ;-)

      Thanks for the kind comments! It's a good watch over all, but I bet those ones that you mentioned are a bit better. I never bought a lot of Invicta watches other than the pro diver but I don't mind them. Just not my taste. Good luck with the search!

    I don't wear any watches with hardlex or mineral crystals.
    Sapphire on the new ones and acrylic on the vintage. I really am rough and a bit clumsy.
    My Diver is the 44mm Sea-gull Ocean Star with the 28800bph movement. Beautiful and tough

    Many reviewers get a free watch or other consideration hence all the glossy reviews on UA-cam. He paid for the watch and is giving you and honest review.I don’t think Blue Ram insulted anyone at all. That’s silly. Like the reviewer, I have both the 8926 and the 9937. He’s spot on, it’s a little nicer. It’s a smoother movement, a little better polished, and has a better bracelet. If you look carefully at them, they are not exactly the same case, just slightly different. Best bet is to buy either one, go to a good watchmaker, get an upgraded crystal, fresh gaskets, and have it pressure tested. For very little money you will have a great watch to go diving with, etc. I have more expensive watches, but really, really like the 9937. Back in the 50s the Rolex Submariner was a tool watch that cost about $150 which adjusted for inflation is about $1500 today, and that was brand new. Also, one commenter said that the movement wasn’t Swiss. It very clearly says Swiss Made on mine and is the Sellita 200-1. Great review and happy hunting.

I own at least 20 Pro and Grand Divers with ETA's, Val ETA 7750 to Silleta's, Seiko's, Myota's and Ronda r150's. Invicta's loome as you said really sucks.Great review and thanks for sharing. I don’t think you talked about accuracy? I just picked up a 23678 Invicta two weeks ago with the NH 35 movement and I’m pretty happy it’s running two seconds slow per day but if I lay it flat crystal up on the table overnight it gains it back. Of course it’s not even broken in yet so hopefully it’ll run about plus one or + two seconds fast but I could always adjust it myself outside of the warranty.. I paid 99 bucks at winners in Canada, got some amazing deals on a few Movados there as well But overall I’m pretty happy with the quality as you say. I put an orange canvas military strap on it and it’s looking pretty slick.
    In 2014 I had the gold two tone blueface INVICTA 8935 and it was great I actually sold it five years later for exactly what I paid for it. Never a problem with it.

      RJtoon1 Nice, winners really does have good deals on watches occasionally. At the time, I hadn’t timed it but if my memory serves me right, I think the watch is about +8 or so. That’s kind of anecdotal although.

    I am not as confident with it being better than my Glycine as before. I simply mean that it isn't half as good, for half the price. I prefer the bezel. The bracelet is looser fitting than the Glycine but for me, it is comparable if price is factored in. The Glycine has less back play. I prefer it sometimes. Overall though, the Glycine is a step above, especially in terms of the case finishing.

  • @RJtoon1

    I have the rubber strapped pro diver identical to yours the black and black, But I have the second movement but yesterday I bought the pro diver Master of the Ocean edition in jade green, (model 30020) silver metal band and loved it!!! Unfortunately the bezel was binding up it would be really nice and loose and then it would get tight so I returned it and I kind of regret this now because my friend told me about a trick with soapy water to loosen up the bezel on these you let it soak in a cup with soapy water for about 30 minutes and I should try this on my pro diver like yours because the bezel is really tough to move.

    • @BlueRam788
      @BlueRam788  3 роки тому

      Not that I know of, aside from the county of origin claim and what is written on the dial. They seem to be hit and miss in terms or what you get.

      @melloweasel 3 роки тому

      "Swiss Movement" means that the movement is manufactured in Switzerland but the case, bracelet, etc. are typically made in Asia and these watches are normally assembled in Asia as well. There are legal requirements to be able to put "Swiss Made" on a watch dial, a quick Google search will bring up the requirements.

      I may have been harsh but the truth is that this model is better made than the other. Better movement and bracelet. I have both. The NH35a version isn't junk, I was not impressed with bracelet, the bezel and the loudness of the rotor. Both are good watches for their respective prices. I'm glad you enjoy your watch, that's what counts.

Your model is indeed better but you single out your followers when you insult what I can afford and how well it’s run for me ! I think you could have and should have gone out of your way as not to insult your viewership! No the hands aren't the same; your hour hand comes to a sharper point then the cheaper version with the Seiko movement. Also, you have the Sellitta which is a so so movement; had you gotten that watch years earlier you would have got one when they had the swiss eta 2824-2, a true 25 jewel swiss movement.
    You should try holding the watch still more so people can see it and you rattle on and repeat yourself. Get it together man.
