I recently bought one for $46 including shipping, why everyone has to make a big deal about it is beyond me, it's a watch it tells the time, why does anyone care what Rolex, or anyone else has to offer for 100+ times the price, it's like comparing a budget car to a Bentley. For me it tells the time, I like it being an automatic movement vs. a battery and it looks decent - it cost $46 what's there to complain about.

@@fbcfnh For me a watch needs to tell the time, be waterproof for my boating and swimming activities and have some visual appeal. Once it starts becoming expensive jewelry it's just not my thing at all and I have no real desire to ever own one regardless of my financial situation. I find the fact people get upset because a $60 watch looks like their Rolex somewhat amusing, it seems if that upsets someone, they need to be be more secure about their reasons for their choice and purchase rather than worrying about what others are doing.

I didn't buy the watch because it looked like a Rolex, I bought it because it's waterproof to 200 m and has a Seiko engine inside. I work specifically as a beater to go swimming in, or if I want something that looks pretty in the sunlight cuz I got the blue purple and gold one

This is the one model that Invicta did right! Their Pro Diver line is a great daily watch. Not everyone wants to drop $10 - $15K on a Submariner or even can do it so, this is a great alternative!

    • @rosamunddeflorimont7339

It;s not the only model Invicta did right. as for the Rolex homage/look alike issue, it is all to Rolex, if their design can be so easily be respectibly re-recreated in such a shamefully low price it is on them to design a new generation of patent protected Rolex divers designs to justify the premium they expect from their customers to pay. of course there is movement cost and innovation issue. but here it is what you pay for, and the HN35a is a basic horsepower working Seiko automatic movement which is found on most of microbrands and the larger share of Seiko divers as a branded movement with identical specs. is the Rolex in house movement worth all that money, as per movement? i don't know, i am more of a Tudor fan. and that would be good enough for my luxury show off tastes. however i do remind that the Pro Diver from Invicta has a full Swiss made variant with a SW200 Swiss 28800 bpm automatic movement. and you can get it for 225$. besides of that the only serious issue i have with the Pro and Grand divers is the underperforming lume. Invicta should solve this once and for all even if it's of adding a 10$-15$ to it's final retail price. we need a Seiko grade lume.

Yes. TBH I don't understand why enjoying an affordable homage watch gets so much hate. Not talking replica or counterfeit of course, that sucks. But if you want to experience the Submariner look and don't have the will (or means) to buy the real thing, then this is perfectly acceptable. And if people are offended, well... people are offended all the time about useless stuff, so who cares ? Thank you for sharing, see you soon!

MIght you know of a subby homage at this or lower price level with the thicker new subby lugs? So many have the thin one and find some way to make it look subpar on the wrist. They need to increase bezel size and that not even does the trick always. I do like what Tevise does, but now want to try a non-replica wider lug one.
I even have a 43mm 22mm bracelet Sinobi and still it doesn't really do it all. Would be cool to find a thick lug Invicta :-)

Just an update on my last comment to you after your review, I have since purchased this watch from Amazon UK in a sale for the crazy price of £69.99. I really love this watch and everything you said was true. This is my first Invicta and I am very impressed with it. Like you I have a small wrist and it fits perfectly and I have found the height of the watch at 13mm is not a problem. Straight out of the box it is running at +6 seconds per day. I have since purchased the two tone blue version the 8928OB and that is also an amazing watch, again I got it for £69.99. The Seiko movement in these two watches is really good and was the main reason I bought them apart from the look of the watch. Thanks again for your review, this Pro Diver is definately a winner at the price and is great value for money.

I actually LIKE the Invicta engraving on the side. Even though it is plainly a Sub homage, you really can't accuse this watch of pretending to be something it isn't. And considering the fact that most normal people don't know what a Rolex Submariner looks like, or have even heard the name Submariner, and considering how popular the Pro Diver is becoming, all that excess branding could establish Invicta as the most recognizable diver-style watch.

Appreciate the honest if apologetic review. i’ve owned Invictas almost since their rebirth. The early invictas were incredibly made at unbelievable prices (for example, French ebauche automatic with sapphire crystal and real alligator strap for $100). I have several automatics that are super accurate after a decade (without service; not proud of that fact).
3 key points i’ve learned over these last 15 years: the quality and quality control has declined (you are right to say you might have gotten lucky).
    2. The foggy look is due to Invicta’s mineral crystal. i won’t buy an Invicta with that crystal.
    3. Invicta, Orient, Aragon can be great choices for vacations (not the end of the world if they get stolen) and for those new to mechanical/analog watches. They can take a beating, are maintenance free, and are accurate regardless of price.

Also a guy with a slender wrist here. Nice review - I like your pragmatic, and still relaxed approach to the subject, and your subtle humor. You deserve more viewers. I got my Pro Diver today and I am amazed by the finish and apparent value for money. Mine is a conservative all steel with black dial. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the yellow rotor. This is extremely nasty, but luckily it is not visible when on the wrist. They should have settled for a nice engraving - or scrapped the see through back. These low end (but HIGH value) Seiko movements are no beauties, but of course its nice to see something going on in the watch. About the Invicta logo on the side, I am caught between a rock and a hard place. The bracelet is pretty nice - my clasp looks a little bit different and does not have any problems. The thickness of the clasp is pretty impressive. I have Certinas (not saying that Certinas are bad, I have about 20 and generally love this brand from the 60's models to now) that cost 4 times the price with a much thinner clasp. I hate the many butt-ugly (can you say that) models that Invicta make, and I hate it when any brand has these ridiculous MSRPs. But I cannot do anything but love the Pro Diver :)

I own 5 INVICTA automatic Pro Divers and love them all. I have never had any problems with them including my first one purchased around 2010 which my wife stole from me and would not give back. She wears it all the time and gets complimented often. I have owned some of the larger INVICTA’s but have gotten over that phase and sold them. The Pro Diver in a word: Perfection at a price that could almost be considered a steal.

Great honest review. Anyone who bashes your review is simply a troll.
I have some very pricey watches and some very inexpensive watches and this Is definitely the latter. It’s undeniable that this is a blatant copy of a Submariner, but so were pre-Tag Heuer‘s (844). If this were a cheap knock off with an unknown quartz movement and fake Rolex branding, I would have no interest in it because it’s a poser. But an automatic Seiko Japanese movement for under $90? What’s not to like? So I bought two.
One just sits in its “elegant” yellow box and the other one I took out to see just how good or how bad it is.
First off, I immediately replaced the bracelet with a gray and black NATO band.
Out of the box, there was one issue that really is inexcusable: the crown was loose so that it started to unscrew when setting the date (counter clockwise rotation). I can only chalk that up to poor quality control.
Giving the watch the benefit of the doubt I gave it some time to break in. All new automatic watches need some time to break in and this was no exception. After a month or so it was still running faster than I was comfortable with so I opened it up and regulated it to the point to where it has a beat error of only about five seconds per day which really isn’t too bad. That’s really a testament to the Seiko movement.
So at 1/100th of the cost of a Rolex, why not get one of these as your beater and not have severe heartache if something happens to it?
....unless of course anything other than a Rolex is beneath you.

Good morning SlenderWrist - Excellent review ! I have been an Invicta fan for many years and own many. I also have the required Rolex's, Breitling's, Tag Heuer's etc. I really love them all but I really tire of the almost universal HATE of all Invicta timepieces. The lower end does exhibit problems although the upper end watches are really quality constructs. Designs are frequently quite beautiful. In any case this was a terrific review. You appear to be a natural in front of a camera. I have no idea what you do for a living but perhaps you should consider something in broadcasting - in front of a camera or behind. Seriously!
All the best to you and yours,

Nice honest review. The watch looks great. I think homage watches are great for those that don't want to - or can't afford to - shell out loads of money for a Submariner. I personally went for a mathey-tissot rolly vintage. After seeing this review I'm seriously considering getting this Invicta you've reviewed. Weldone and good job.

The one thing I like about invicta is that whenever u are looking for a watch with specific whatever especially colors they have it all and then some. At least they're not scared to put out anything. I've had a couple in the past inclined the one in the video and no problems ever. They're swiss pro divers are more pricey but even better

I have an open heart version without the cyclop and date. My bezel is a little misaligned from the lume dot and it takes a bit of elbow grease to turn it. However the lume on mine seems stronger than the unit in the video. I think your mileage will vary on Invicta divers. My only other gripe apart from the bezel is that the dial is just so busy with branding at 12 o clock and fine print at 6 o clock.

I'm currently thinking about one of 2: Orient Ray 2 FAA02003B9 or Invicta Diver 0420 Titanium.
Orient seems for me have better quality but I'm not sure if coating will last . Invicta have titanium parts so they should stay OK for years, movement is from Seiko Japan so should be Ok as well for long time...
Any recommendations? Which one should be better and why?

Got mine a week ago. Yesterday I see number 8 with the glow floating around inside. So it's $29.00 to ship it for repair. A hour later I've fixed it twice as it popped off and I put superglue at the end of a toothpick to add the glue then hopefully it was still liquid as it got it on spot and pressed it in. So far a few hours since and it's holding still. Maybe this could be why as their not honoring a warranty?

Great and detailed review! I just got this watch and the value for money is excellent and its well made. Just because its inexpensive, people trash it but only because they paid too much for their own diver watch. It makes them feel better to be trolls about Invicta but those who have one know what the bang for buck is. Agreed, the main current weakness is the bracelet but you can upgrade that at modest cost. Slowly, these inexpensive brands are improving and closing the gap on the luxury watches but at 1/20 the price, they also tell the time just as well and last just as long.

This Pro Diver is great, and it's more like at 1/80 of the cost of a Sub. Now, they may look exactly the same, but the Sub is a totally different beast. But then again, not everyone wants (or needs, or can afford) a luxury piece. For those, this Pro Diver nails it. The other valid alternative for me would be the Steinhart Ocean One.

Ok, how to start. First of all, it is not ugly like most Invicta are. On Amazon, it says not a certified diver watch, good for swimming, not diving. It is very cheap where you can change the band to something that is nice as the one it comes with is hollow links garbage. Change the band and you can have a decent looking watch. I think they have a nice Asian movement that is accurate. I am not a luxury watch collector as I can not afford them. Seiko SKS models ARE certified diver watches. They will serve you well. They have a nice lume too. Prices are all over the place. I have one myself and what I like is I can see the time while swimming in a lake as the water gets kind of dark. They used to cost under 200 dollars US but they seem to be much higher.

I recently purchased a two tone invicta and I feel like they changed the lume. The current ones are horrible . So I would say the product quality from over 10 years ago was much better. Wish they made them like they used to. Also noticed the newer ones are much thicker than the old versions. I think mine is 11.5mm thick

I own 40 indicative Pro diver and grand diver watches. They are superb timepieces for the money. I sold diamonds, fine jewelry and fine watches for many years. It's true, to this I many of their models are just awful looking, but you can't go wrong with this line. It's a solid, time-tested Seiko movement, the materials are good, the timekeeping is reasonable for an automatic watch and the price is quite comfortable. I've read comments about the band difficulties, but if you take a little time and get the proper tools the pins that hold watchband together will not come out. I have not had that happen to one of them. I highly recommend this line. I've seen the best I've seen the worst as far as timepieces go and in their price range and for their looks as far as I'm concerned, they're the best.

Great video! I have a Rolex submariner, and a GMT master two. But I also have a few of these Invicta pro diver‘s. They are not the best homage out there if that’s what you’re looking for, but I will tell you this right now, they are far from the worst and good luck finding an automatic watch with a reliable seiko NH35 movement done to the quality that this watches for anywhere near the price point. Invicta is a watch super power. They really have the market cornered on every type of time piece and there is something for everyone in the catalog. I am not into the huge oversized flashy watches, but they have a plethora of amazing low cost quality time pieces that suit my needs for every day wear and tear. So as someone who owns High tier pieces, mid tier pieces, and low tier pieces I can honestly say I don’t think there’s anything wrong with this watch! Great review and if you’ve never tried one, what do you have to lose? People that do not know nor care about wrist watches won’t be able to tell the difference between a $70 watch and a $10,000 watch! That’s just the cold hard truth.

I own several Seikos and several Invictas, of which, two are regular Pro Divers. I have the two-tone blue bezel and sunburst blue dial that is drop dead gorgeous and has the Seiko NH-35A movement. I also have the older version black bezel, black dial with scalloped bezel edge. It has the non-handwinding, non-hackable Miyota automatic movement. Both are very accurate watches, but the NH-35A (generic 4R35) is as accurate as you spoke about in the video. It is more accurate than my SKX 007, 2 Samurais, and 2 Turtles. The haters are the same ones that tout the good and bad on other watches. So let me hit some. You hit some in the video.
    1. Applied indices - they are meticulously placed and have gold backing
    2. Bezel - Shiny blue with gold numbers and markers. Legible in all types of light. Bezel aligns PERFECTLY and not loose or tight. Just a smooth turn.
    3. Finishing - The finishing is as good as most $500-$750 watches. Sharp lines between the brushed and polished areas. The 18kt gold plating on the bezel is, again, done meticulously.
    4. Crown - easy to use and has no play. It is SIGNED.
    5. Bracelet - solid links (not rolled) with hollow end-links. The finishing is exquisite. Again, the 18kt gold plating is done very well. The clasp has no play in it and has 4 micro-adjustments. Would I prefer a milled clasp like the Grand Diver? Sure. But this is no worse than many non-hated watches.
So, if the haters couldn't see the logo and just evaluated the watch, it would probably rate a 7/10...maybe 8!

I already own the black/gold version, and like so much I have ordered the blue/gold version. I just paid £59 inc postage, and would ask what watch offers better value for this price point. OK, sapphire would have been nice, and a ceramic insert for the bezel would have been nice, but again, what great value for the money. I would also suggest that Parnis make an excellent 200m WR diver for a little more, which does have the sapphire and ceramic insert.

    Hello, great site.
I think that the bi-colour looks good on you, sadly, my skin tone is not good with yellow gold. But I have bought the stainless steel version and at 90€ it is fantastic value. I have been selling watches for 25 years from Timex to Patek and I've always been of the opinion that you should "wear it if you love it" and it doesn't matter what the brand is! I have purchased a couple of great Seikos in the last couple of years and I love them! Poor old Invicta gets awful press but I have only heard good things about the Pro Diver.

This is probably the best watch for value on the market. I can see an argument for the SKX, but the SKX is 2 to 3X as expensive (depending on the deal you get on the Pro Diver) and the SKX has a host of quality problems too from chapter ring alignment to a horrible bracelet and clasp, no signed crown, no hacking or hand winding. I'd rather buy a $70 pro diver and save for something better.
Then there's the whole "save up" for an SKX, Orient or Turtle. But if you're going to "save up" for a Turtle then save up for a real watch. The Turtle has all the crap quality control issues of the SKX.
If you can save up $400 for a shit Turtle, save up for a $700 SBDC053 reissue. It's LIGHTYEARS better than a Turtle and only a few hundred more. Buy the $70 Pro Diver and if you like Seiko, save for a Baby Marine Master, Marine Master, Baby Snowflake or even Grand Seiko. Don't listen to broke boys who worship these cult watches like idiots. By the time you have an SKX, Alpinist, Turtle, and Bambino, and all these shitty cult watches, and some straps to go with them, you could have bought a Marine Master or Baby Snowflake. Not worth it. You'll have a drawer full of regret.
