Great job guys. Very well done. I think after I take the wheel off I will just take the rim in to a shop and have the tire changed though. That part looks exhausting. Lol. Thank you!

So glad I found your channel. Just did the front but used zip ties to put on the new one as well. It literally slipped right on just using my hands and knees, ha! I intend to tackle the rear next but the rear tire on a 1500 is a big boy and STIFF so hoping this method works for that one as well. Regarding balancing, I use "Counteract" beads and have had very good success with them. Shout out to your pops too! Cheers.

Awesome!! I'm glad it helped you. It was a fun project with my dad. I'll need to replace my tires soon too and have been considering the beads. I'll look up the "Counteract" beads and check them out. Thank you for the kind comments and watching. Ride Safe!!!

I can relate to removing tires from wheels. I learned a step from my local bike tire dealer. He heats up tire infront of space heater until tire is hot. Once hot removes from rim much easier. Second thing I learned from tire dealer: he doesn't just set tire in rim an start working tire tools. He throws tire on wheel setting tire as far as possible in rim before using tools. He can almost throw tire on wheel with little tool effort.

Hi Tim, thank you for the comments. I didn’t know or think about using heat to soften the tire first. I’ll be replacing the tires on my Goldwing on the near future and will definitely try this method. Your comment is much appreciated!! Ride safe out there.

I won't put cold tires on rims anymore! An practice throwing tire on rim before using tools. Dealer goes from heat to throwing tire on rim an with practice he can almost free hand mount tires!

Nice! first vid I have found on this. LOl everyone is saying tire removal and they really mean wheel removal. Like I need to have that run by me again LOL. Funny, your tire looks better than the BS people are selling on eBay as a used tire. LOl why would I want a used tire? I have two of those on the bike! LOL They took it off for a reason after all. I made am adapter to balance bike wheels on my bubble balancer. the price on them went up but I got a used one for 20 bucks about 8 years. works great, takes a min though. the shops around here are not friendly to a guy that brings in his wheel and new tire already together. I mean, they gotta make a living but man. I'm not riding a 30 year old gold wing because of nostalgia. LOl i'm riding it because it's all I can afford to run - I can see them getting po'ed at a guy that can afford a 40.00 balance fee and to pay for high dollar mark up tires. I mean dang! They want 450 - 500 to INSTALL THE TIRES YOU JUST BOUGHT FROM THEM FOR Dang near 430.00 ! I'm all for the local businesses but get real. Plus, I don't like walking away from my bike leaving it with strangers that have tools and nothing to lose. LOL
This reverse rear was a mystery to me, still is a little bit But I am totally digging how fat and round that is. I hope you guys do a review vid on this one. as far as how it feels and all. I will go check out that other vid you mentioned, Thanks a million. I have been looking for info on the dark side tire / tires set up. but I am finding that a whole lot of people "Talk" about it and they are actual owners of the set up. very irritating.

Hi Larry, thanks for the comments and I’m happy you found this video helpful, it makes making them worth it. It’s kinda fun keeping these old bikes on the road. Our next project on it will be rebuilding the forks with new seals sometime in the next month or two. Thanks for watching. Ride Safe!! Bryan.

Hi Bryan, n😮ce videos on the Goldwing with your Dad is the best part. Btw, in the service manual honda shows using the feeler gauge they include in the tool kit to make sure there us a certain amount if clearance between the left calliper carrier and the left rotor. Thoughts? I do it every time.. wish I knew why, LOL

Thanks for the comment Ken. I don't remember reading to use the feeler gauge between the left caliper carrier and the left rotor. I'll go back and see if our book mentions it. I appreciate you leaving a comment and watching the videos. Ride Safe!!

@@whatsbryanupto ,,I dont use anything else,,,average 8 ounces in the front and ten in the rear. All the guys around me use it,,cuz I have a tire changer,,,about 8 of us chipped in and bought the changer. Been doing it for a number of years with no issues,,,from anyone. I am double dark on my GL1800,,,bought a GL1500,,and will darkside that as well when the tires need to be replaced.
