Awesome, I’m glad you watched. My dad and i will be working in this same GL1500 next week, replacing the timing belt, radiators and the rear air shocks. Keep an eye out for those videos over the next few weeks. Ride Safe!!!
@@whatsbryanupto Great. I picked up an 94 with 100k but seems to have promise that it could be a decent and reliable machine. I have no interest in long distance riding but just getting it back on the road. I just did the timing belts. Previous owner deleted the air suspension. Seeing that I got it in the winter I've only put about 2 miles on it to make sure the wheels didn't fall off! So I'm just cleaning it and doing basic maintenance before I hit the road and see what else it may need. I'll look forward to more of your GL1500 and GL1800 content!
Gracias por ver y comentar. El triciclo es de mi padre. Lo comprobaré con él para comprobar y cambiar los frenos traseros. Si lo necesita, grabaré el proceso. Viaja con cuidado.
I have a 2000 GL 1500A. What brake pads do you recommend? The trike kit is a Tri-King. Do you have any information where to get parts for it? The company went out of business in Florida.
Hi. I chatted with my dad about this. The front brake pads are going to be available online. You can order from the Honda website or after market supplier and that’s who he ordered from. They are all different prices. If you’re asking about the rear axle, it should say the manufacturer, and should be able to order per the manufacturer. On his trike, his rear axle is a Ford. Hope that helps some. I do appreciate you watching. Ride Safe!!
Does Honda care if caliper hang down on hyd line without bungee to take weight off lines? My dad was scout master, living next to housing project. mom catered wedding (ice cream an cake always around) so we always had friends over working on all kinds of stuff. Dad was a school bus mechanic. With all kids around he had rules about his tools. This isn't any criticism to anyone else's work. One of dad's best friends had his own mechanics & tow truck company, an they worked well together. Both always had a work station with towels, like you did for chrome parts that were wired on floor. So no tools were ever laid on any vehicle. (Don also said, customers don't want tools laid on their cars, then he'd say, customer sees how good you are with tool an their rigs, they will come back)! When reassembly every part got cleaned (like inside of your chrome cover light rings). I was going down into McIver Park on Clackamas River in Oregon on my bike when I see Don an his tow truck. He's all happy too see me, I don't know how I'd do This without you? He lowered me down cliff side on cable end. For me too hook up Harley, a rider rode off the cliff to killing both rider an female co-riders. Emergency services had retrieved both bodies but the bike needed pulled up. I hooked the cable up to bike an rode bike an cable end up an out of the gorge. Not good getting mad while riding, esp. if you want to kill the girl riding behind you! Biker & k-9 cop & wife move across from me. Started borrowing tools for his BMW bike. Then he an I went on a state wide BMW rally in E. Oregon. When we came back I talked too hhis wife at store, then we drove home. Next morning cops at my door asking if I hear anything? Dogs barking, making fuss someplace. K-9 dog had killed the wife, chewed her neck an head off an was eating heart an lung inside chest cavity, when daughter found her that morning. No one has seen the cop or BMW since! Sad news seeing tragedy on bikes or around bikes because of anger. That dog must have been really angry, but not for long! Good job! Now I won't have to study manual to do my 88' GW.. Not too be so long here, but I was thinking about this as you worked.
Holy moly!! I’ve been debating on how to respond, but all I can say is wow!! 😮. As for your question, I thought about tying up the calipers but we went forward without doing so. Probably should have wired them up so they weren’t hanging from the brake line hoses. On cars and trucks, we’ve always tied them up and would have been a good idea here too. Thank you for watching and commenting. It makes it worth it to put the effort into the videos. Ride safe!!!
Hi, yes the atv floor jack in the video is able to completely lift the trike off the floor. The jack has to be placed exactly in the center. It may take several tries to find the center. This is my dad’s trike and is now in storage for the winter. We do plan to get it out in the next couple months to change the timing belt and replace the radiators and hoses. I’ll try to include lifting it when taking it out of storage. Hope that helps. Keep an eye out for upcoming videos.
Hello, about a month ago, you asked about jacking up the trike and if I could make a video. We just started those other projects I mentioned and wanted to start off by making the video you asked for. You can find it on my channel, or here's the link to it: ua-cam.com/video/4nyTFMtYX4k/v-deo.html I really appreciate the comments. Hope this helps.
Nice content! I just picked up an GL1500 so I enjoy watching videos like this. Thanks.

Brake cable replacement front?
We didn’t replace the brake cable so I don’t have a video on it. Sorry about that. Thank you for watching. Ride safe.
