Fuaga to me is my last rates tackle. Hes a guard to me. Hes very top heavy. His taoe was a mix bag to me. Fuaga is a guard all day to me
First of all the Chicago Bears are not gonna tip their hand to anybody, but I think we can all agree. It’ll either be a wide receiver, offensive tackle or defensive tackle it matters who’s there and who’s available
One more day and we can finally talk about something new. I will say this and last year’s drafts have been fun. But hopefully we’ll be having more fun in-season as oppose to off-season.
IMHO...
1: at 9, if Alt or Harrison are there you take them at 9. Otherwise...
2: trade down to anyone in the teens that will get you a R2. Then...
3: I'd take, in order depending on who's available: Fashanu, B.Thomas, Powers-Johnson (though if I had a mid-teen pick and Fashanu & Thomas are gone, I try to trade down a bit...CIN or LAR...then pick JPJ).
With the R2 pick, take BPA at OT(Paul?), WR(Franklin?) or DE(D.Robinson, Isaac, Kneeland)
If Alt or MHJ are still there at #9, Ryan Poles will be running to the podium. 🐻⬇️

I just heard that Powers-Johnson has some significant concussion concerns. Apparently he's had several of them and it's affecting his draft stock.
I must admit, I viewed JPJ as the Bears best strategy, but given what I'm hearing (which may be BS) I'd be more cautious about trading down past...say...pick #13.
If Poles does decide to just pull the trigger at 9 and live with no R2 pick I won't hate it. But it needs to be LT (Olu or Alt) or WR (any of the top 3)

I really think especially if Odunze is gone, Byron Murphy is the pick at #9 and I wouldn’t F around with trading down to get him because he’s too good to take any chances that someone else will pick him up! This is such a stacked WR class, you could easily get a Brenden Rice at #75 then take Patrick Paul at #122! That’s a RAP!
Who will be the edge opposite Sweat?
I dont like the idea of Byron Murphy at all simply because we burnt a # 2 and a # 3 last year on DT's. Coach up who you drafted before moving on. Give Dexter a chance to have a seson 2 break out year. Looks so bad if they take another DT. Id rather take an Edge if we go defense. Also can pick up an IOL in round 3 or 4 for depth on the OL.
Im starting to think someone will trade in front of Bears at 9. To get Odunze. If thats the case trade down a little and get a lineman

Poles is absolutely happy with 4 picks in this draft
We will not have 3 picks in the first 2 rounds next year. Poles is going to use one of them to get another playmaker
I can live with four picks. But I wish they could get the right four positions (and impact players at those spots). Say Odunze at 9; Kneeland at 75; and a OT (the best left ) at 122. If there aren't any OTs that can better the team at 122, I'd consider the punter from Iowa, who with the D pretty set, lets Flus play the position game. To me the need to fill four spots screams trade down (use Carolina's 2025, round 2).

Why not trade next year's #1 to get mhj? We will be getting a much better player than we will get in the first round next year...and we will get him one year sooner. We would be instant contenders. But then, again, I've only been following the Bears since 1956.
Trade down and take the best of 2-8, Latu or Verse would be my target

First off for me the Bears highest draft grade is capped at 75% C/C+
1. Williams and 9. Odunze will be D+/C- draft grade.
2. Williams and 9. Murphy will be F draft grade. Too high for Murphy. I'd prefer to trade down. In two drafts let's spend 3 premium picks on DT. Murphy or Fuaga in mid-teens is better position.
3. Williams and 9. Fuaga will be F draft grade. Too high for Fuaga and RT. I'd prefer to trade down. If you want to do something crazy take JP-J.
4. Williams and 9. Fashanu will be D- draft grade. Plays LT... but too high. I'd prefer to trade down.
5. Williams and 9. Turner will be a D draft grade. I'd prefer to trade down... for Verse.
The only way Bears get a C/C+ grade with is if they trade up for MHJ.
Question Harrison , You say Jones is adequate enough OK how about Kevin Jenkins? Is he gonna be out for five weeks? Who is his replacement in? The meantime is he capable of holding down the fort? Seems like has been out every year with some kind of injury that’s the reason I would prefer Joe alt at nine over Rome , and if you’re worrying about Gervon Dexter Then go for Murphy , because we can’t be worried about if he’s adequate and enough or not ! How about Darius Robinson ? Then concentrate on a receiver or the O-line and then at #122 get that center out of Wisconsin

Olu is far better than fuaga
Fuaga might be the better overall prospect, yet I think that he is limited to RT, just like Darnell Wright, while Olu Fashanu is clearly a LT.
Enough shilling for Caleb Williams when he is not the best QUARTERBACK in the draft and has too many red flags about him. Michael Penix JR is the best QUARTERBACK for the Bears. The Rimington award winner Jackson Powers Johnson Center Oregon should be on our board, then wasting another 1st round pick on a Wr. We will have to trade down.
I think Brock is the biggest mismatch and the cheapest long term solution
