THE WILD BUNCH! How do you decide is enough and how do you decide what is too much Martin. That little guy is such a little piggie and seems never to be satisfied while the other two didn't want to eat anything for the longest time? LOL OMG they got so quick once getting out of doors. lol
The habitat in the ending looks so perfect! I love how you mentioned that they enjoy perching on rocks and they instantly showed that behavior along with hunting and getting comfortable before you left. It must be so rewarding knowing that they are set up for success! Well done and thank you!!!
Wow, what an absolute treat to see you raise these Road Runners. Sorry the mama didn't survive. This was a very special video in the fact that you showed the progress in more detail than you typically do. Was fascinating to see them come out into the wild for the first time trying to figure out where they are and what they should do. I didn't know if they fly at all, so I looked it up, they do fly, but limited to about a minute, as they aren't adapted for long flight. I love their tuft of hair on their head and how it rises when they get excited. Thanks for showing us baby Road Runners!

Oh my God. They are such adorable little brats, lol!! Has to be so hard to walk away from raising them up. A friend rescued one and was able to raise and release it. But oddly enough it stayed around his place for a very long time and absolutely knew my friend specifically. It was exactly the same as they act here. But it was amazing to see how instantaneously it recognized my friend when he stepped out in to the area behind his house.

It is amazing how programmed they are for survival. They were born with the instinct to care for themselves in just weeks! They run so fast even as youngsters! This was my high point of my day and I must say my most favorite show of yours so far. I guess because I know the 3 little birds was a special part of all your experiences of raising/returning them back to the wild/their home. You guys are the real heroes and I couldn't have enjoyed watching your show as much as I have. It brings tears to my eyes when you released them. I think it's so much better releasing them the way you did so they had a little time to get use to the world around them and not so scary for them.
I never really knew much about roadrunners until this video, and I think I can happily say they have been added to my favorite birds list! Great video, thanks for all you do for these beautiful creatures!

What an absolutely wonderful story. I watched intently with interest because you don't get to see these birds in the wild. They are fast and like to stay hidden. They were so adorable while begging for food like you were their mommy. It must be so hard to walk away when you let them go free. It is always the best thing you can do for these beauties. That little one didn't get the same amount. You love those little Roadrunners as much as I love my 5 month old kitten, he's just a riot, he gets a little rough after he eats, then settles down & becomes a little angel. You must love your job, I love little animals too. I fell in love with my little kitten the first day. That little one dosent wait for no one he eats his food right away, no waiting, just grabs it and looks for more, ha,ha,ha. They even look like a real Rappter, probably a desendent of the real thing.
Wow. that was fantastic. I enjoyed seeing the whole story from beginning to the end. Or not end, to their new beginning. I loved the part where you gave them the live crickets and they immediately brightened up and started tilting their heads and tracking and catching the crickets. Thank you for all your work of feeding them several times a day and providing them with the proper environment so they could grow. So I'm from a little border town and moved to Tucson 25 years ago. My daughter was raised here in "The Big City" lol. It tears me up inside thinking about all the stuff my kiddo has missed out on. In Douglas every day we'd see road runners in the yard, sidewinders, red racers and jack rabbits. Velvet ants, walking sticks and those big ol' moths. She's only seen 1 walking stick and that was years ago. We came across a Child of the earth/Camel spider and my kid dam near ran out into oncoming traffic lol. I wish more than anything she could have had the childhood I had... This video brings me back. Thank You.
Grew up in the Sonoran Desert foothills of Tucson, AZ. This brings back so many memories of the beautiful wildlife we have here. I'm stuck in Phx now but miss the wildlife. Love your efforts. oh my goodness! they are too cute. amazing the difference from when they first came in so scared to days later when they’re begging & vocal. they really are like little velociraptors. love the sounds they make. and the way they move the tail slowly back and forth. such amazing birds. Thank you for sharing! I've lived in Texas most of my life and have seen many a roadrunner. But I never knew they were so vocal and made so much noise! Their tails have always reminded me of a signal flags, the way they wave them a form of communication.
They are so beautiful, we have a RoadRunner that comes to my back yard to take advantage of the water I put out for any wild creature that needs water to drink! It’s so sad that the mother of these precious babies died! But thank you to this man who is doing a wonderful job of a Foster Mom!🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Road Runners are incredible birds, and the life they lead is amazing, being terrestrial birds, which is a rarity in North America! I Love all birds, and it breaks my heart to hear that these tiny chicks lost their Mother. But Knowing they have Martin as their caregiver, they are in every bit as good a care as their mother could have been for them, species difference notwithstanding.
Loved this video, watching them grow, hearing about your beautiful lifelong story with roadrunners throughout. Thank you! it made my first few hours of work pretty peaceful. Its neat that even after decades of rehabbing you guys got to have this new experience with these babies!
Just gotta share w U all how much I enjoyed the diary of your raising these guys. & to FYI, Native Americans believe that the Roadrunner spirit is a guide for you. They clear the trail ahead & warn u if there is danger. I recall seeing them often at a glance running across my path out front they scooting up in a small tree as if to say all’s clear enjoy ur travels! Thank u so much.

The ending was so bittersweet, you put so much effort, emotions and time to keep them safe, you always mention to keep the human imprinting on them to the lowest levels, but they always will imprint on you. Saying "good bye, stay safe and be free" is the hardest thing to do when you see them grow and rely on your help. I love, love, love roadrunners. They are around the lake house in central Texas and feel comfortable enough to walk around the house, even when we are there. One hops up onto a window where he can see his reflection. Such funny, evasive little creatures!

I had a road runner help me unpack my groceries from the car into my house once. It was very curious about what I was doing. I was careful not to startle it when removing groceries from the back seat of my car while it was on the seat. It then followed me into the house with my groceries. I left the door open so it could leave when it wanted. The experience was very intense. After that I saw the road runner many times and it was not concerned when I was around. Simply beautiful. I never tried to feed it or anything.
I grew up in AZ and used to seed a lots of quail roadrunners and jackrabbits.... And then I moved to NW Arkansas and have been here what I would call the latter half of my life. I find you a very important part of animals and their lives for rescuing and giving them a chance to increase. Here in Arkansas I used to see a lot more animals than I do now.... it seems like the whole population is dwindling... I also used to occasionally see a roadrunner in the past but not like in the southwest. I thoroughly enjoyed this video it really touched my heart... Thank you so much for the people you are... I just love this!! I’m new to southern Arizona via N.California I used to do transporting for Black-Crown heron & green heron chicks to a wildlife sanctuary in Auburn Ca….….and I’ve seen 4 adult roadrunners so far and really amazed at them….very elusive birds ….Thankyou for posting!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! I have been fortunate enough to watch them in the wild many times, but to see them up this close and personal at the end was truly a joy. One doesn't often get a chance to see them so still, stretching their wings, etc. so that you can see the beautiful plumage that they have hidden. I would have sat there for at least another hour just to watch. A very special Father's Day gift, indeed! By the way, I knew that they can sound like rattlesnakes, but the best I have ever heard that sound is in this video when you are feeding them as young babies! WOW! What a perfect performance of that.

Sadly I have not seen one in 20 years or more thanks to the wine industry and the growing human population. It's amazing how quickly they change and that long tail comes in! Do you think they'll stay together for a while? I feel so silly because I was an adult before I knew Roadrunners were real birds.
This was delightful to watch. Your work on all creatures behalf, including us humans, is wonderful. Years ago, I lived in Albuquerque, outside of the town, with a field out back and a roadrunner came to our home regularly. The little thing would run up and down our low wall. We would stand well away and enjoy it! This was "our roadrunner." And eventually he or she did what all wild animals do, off into the wild!
Being from SW Oklahoma I've seen many roadrunners; but, I've never seen such young ones before; thanks so much for sharing ❣️ The little hungry one sounds like it's vibrating 🙂 WoW 😲 I didn't realize, until I looked it up that they've found roadrunner fossils from around 33,500 years ago; really cool to know that they've been around for so long❣️🙂❣️

Thank you for what you do for all wildlife. This was especially great for me to watch since I had a roadrunner here in Las Vegas I was feeding for awhile. We had quite a connection with each other and it was loads of fun to photograph and video it for awhile. Also nice to hear the beak clapping the chicks were making as I heard that a lot here with this bird.

Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.

Martin's book, Healer of Angels, reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry.

THE WILD BUNCH! How do you decide is enough and how do you decide what is too much Martin. That little guy is such a little piggie and seems never to be satisfied while the other two didn't want to eat anything for the longest time? LOL OMG they got so quick once getting out of doors. lol
The habitat in the ending looks so perfect! I love how you mentioned that they enjoy perching on rocks and they instantly showed that behavior along with hunting and getting comfortable before you left. It must be so rewarding knowing that they are set up for success! Well done and thank you!!!

Wow, what an absolute treat to see you raise these Road Runners. Sorry the mama didn't survive. This was a very special video in the fact that you showed the progress in more detail than you typically do. Was fascinating to see them come out into the wild for the first time trying to figure out where they are and what they should do. I didn't know if they fly at all, so I looked it up, they do fly, but limited to about a minute, as they aren't adapted for long flight. I love their tuft of hair on their head and how it rises when they get excited. Thanks for showing us baby Road Runners!

Oh my God. They are such adorable little brats, lol!! Has to be so hard to walk away from raising them up. A friend rescued one and was able to raise and release it. But oddly enough it stayed around his place for a very long time and absolutely knew my friend specifically. It was exactly the same as they act here. But it was amazing to see how instantaneously it recognized my friend when he stepped out in to the area behind his house.

It's not easy in the wild!
This was my high point of my day and I must say my most favorite show of yours so far. I guess because I know the 3 little birds was a special part of all your experiences of raising/returning them back to the wild/their home. You guys are the real heroes and I couldn't have enjoyed watching your show as much as I have. It brings tears to my eyes when you released them. I think it's so much better releasing them the way you did so they had a little time to get use to the world around them and not so scary for them.

What an absolutely wonderful story. I watched intently with interest because you don't get to see these birds in the wild. They are fast and like to stay hidden. They were so adorable while begging for food like you were their mommy. It must be so hard to walk away when you let them go free. It is always the best thing you can do for these beauties. You love those little Roadrunners as much as I love my 5 month old kitten, he's just a riot, he gets a little rough after he eats, then settles down & becomes a little angel.
You must love your job, I love little animals too. I fell in love with my little kitten the first day.
That little one dosent wait for no one he eats his food right away, no waiting, just grabs it and looks for more, ha,ha,ha. They even look like a real Rappter, probably a desendent of the real thing.

I loved the part where you gave them the live crickets and they immediately brightened up and started tilting their heads and tracking and catching the crickets. So I'm from a little border town and moved to Tucson 25 years ago. My daughter was raised here in "The Big City" lol. It tears me up inside thinking about all the stuff my kiddo has missed out on. In Douglas every day we'd see road runners in the yard, sidewinders, red racers and jack rabbits. Velvet ants, walking sticks and those big ol' moths. She's only seen 1 walking stick and that was years ago. We came across a Child of the earth/Camel spider and my kid dam near ran out into oncoming traffic lol. I wish more than anything she could have had the childhood I had...

Thank you for sharing! I've lived in Texas most of my life and have seen many a roadrunner. But I never knew they were so vocal and made so much noise! Their tails have always reminded me of a signal flags, the way they wave them a form of communication.

They are so beautiful, we have a RoadRunner that comes to my back yard to take advantage of the water I put out for any wild creature that needs water to drink! It's not easy in the wild
Road Runners are incredible birds, and the life they lead is amazing, being terrestrial birds, which is a rarity in North America! I Love all birds, and it breaks my heart to hear that these tiny chicks lost their Mother. But Knowing they have Martin as their caregiver, they are in every bit as good a care as their mother could have been for them, species difference notwithstanding.
Loved this video, watching them grow, hearing about your beautiful lifelong story with roadrunners throughout. Thank you! it made my first few hours of work pretty peaceful. Its neat that even after decades of rehabbing you guys got to have this new experience with these babies!

Just gotta share w U all how much I enjoyed the diary of your raising these guys. & to FYI, Native Americans believe that the Roadrunner spirit is a guide for you. They clear the trail ahead & warn u if there is danger. I recall seeing them often at a glance running across my path out front they scooting up in a small tree as if to say all’s clear enjoy ur travels! Thank u so much.

Releases are the best part!
The ending was so bittersweet, you put so much effort, emotions and time to keep them safe, you always mention to keep the human imprinting on them to the lowest levels, but they always will imprint on you. Saying "good bye, stay safe and be free" is the hardest thing to do when you see them grow and rely on your help.
You are great people and you do the right thing.Thank you for the video, it's inspiring and comforting to know there are good people out there.

I love, love, love roadrunners. They are around the lake house in central Texas and feel comfortable enough to walk around the house, even when we are there. One hops up onto a window where he can see his reflection. Such funny, evasive little creatures!

I had a road runner help me unpack my groceries from the car into my house once. It was very curious about what I was doing. I was careful not to startle it when removing groceries from the back seat of my car while it was on the seat. It then followed me into the house with my groceries. I left the door open so it could leave when it wanted. The experience was very intense. After that I saw the road runner many times and it was not concerned when I was around. Simply beautiful. I never tried to feed it or anything.

I grew up in AZ and used to seed a lots of quail roadrunners and jackrabbits.... And then I moved to NW Arkansas and have been here what I would call the latter half of my life.
I find you a very important part of animals and their lives for rescuing and giving them a chance to increase. Here in Arkansas I used to see a lot more animals than I do now.... it seems like the whole population is dwindling... I also used to occasionally see a roadrunner in the past but not like in the southwest.

I just love this!! I’m new to southern Arizona via N.California I used to do transporting for Black-Crown heron & green heron chicks to a wildlife sanctuary in Auburn Ca….….and I’ve seen 4 adult roadrunners so far and really amazed at them….very elusive birds ….Thankyou for posting!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! I have been fortunate enough to watch them in the wild many times, but to see them up this close and personal at the end was truly a joy. One doesn't often get a chance to see them so still, stretching their wings, etc. so that you can see the beautiful plumage that they have hidden. I would have sat there for at least another hour just to watch. A very special Father's Day gift, indeed! By the way, I knew that they can sound like rattlesnakes, but the best I have ever heard that sound is in this video when you are feeding them as young babies! WOW! What a perfect performance of that.

This was delightful to watch. Your work on all creatures behalf, including us humans, is wonderful. Years ago, I lived in Albuquerque, outside of the town, with a field out back and a roadrunner came to our home regularly. The little thing would run up and down our low wall. We would stand well away and enjoy it! This was "our roadrunner." And eventually he or she did what all wild animals do, off into the wild!

Being from SW Oklahoma I've seen many roadrunners; but, I've never seen such young ones before; thanks so much for sharing ❣️ The little hungry one sounds like it's vibrating 🙂 WoW 😲 I didn't realize, until I looked it up that they've found roadrunner fossils from around 33,500 years ago; really cool to know that they've been around for so long❣️🙂❣️

Thank you for what you do for all wildlife. This was especially great for me to watch since I had a roadrunner here in Las Vegas I was feeding for awhile. We had quite a connection with each other and it was loads of fun to photograph and video it for awhile. Also nice to hear the beak clapping the chicks were making as I heard that a lot here with this bird.
