I grew up in Scottsdale Az and the Uber driver is 100% right about snootyness! In fact, I always say I grew up in Snobsdale. But I am not snooty because I grew up on the wrong side of McDowell, lol - South Scottsdale. I didn't shop at all those glamorous shops - I shopped at the leftover shops - Next 2 New, Nearly New, Nice as New - where the shopaholics sold their old yesterdays style to so that people like me could afford to have nice clothes. I remember my freshman year when I found a pair of black pants that were still in style they were in my size and I had enough money to buy them! I will never forget that day, I think they were at Next 2 New. These were consignment or thrift shops that were in some of the old homes near downtown Scottsdale. I graduated in 77 from Coronado H.S. My mom still lives in the house I grew up in and in 72 she bought it for $27,000 - it's now worth 1/2 million dollars. Oh, and I'm still faithful to my husband of 34 years. (I got married late in life) I'm glad you went to the Desert Botanical Gardens, that's the nicest place in Phoenix. I used to ride my bike through the desert to that and the Phoenix Zoo. My stomping grounds are in the neighborhood directly east of that, less than 1 mile off 68th St.
I got to work in Scottsdale last year and went inside my first 15million dollar home.... If I am ever that rich, the views from that place were magical and will forever live in my favorite memories.
That Uber driver is exaggerating. Inthink he was trying to impress you guys. It is not that bad in Scottsdale. My husband did Uber for a while all over the valley. He had some stories but nothing like that.
Mine too!!! My husband drives for Uber all over the Valley and it’s nothing like that first guy claims…. Albeit, it is a hotspot for tourists and 20-30 something’s, Scottsdale is a place where CLASS resides. Of course there are the partygoers and the ASU college students enjoying the night life (at the “W”). There are actually far more people who are actually there to GOLF and shop and dine. I don’t know what that Uber driver is doing (to have that experience or opinion), but my husband takes all sorts of interesting people to and from the airport. He has plenty of time to get to know them in terms of where they are from, who their families are, what they have experienced through the years. He has never been approached by “swingers”. He has never had anyone tell him that if a wife just went down on him he wouldn’t stray (sounds like his wife of 20 years didn’t make him happy in that area). That guy made Scottsdale sound like Sodom and Gomorrah. These ladies needed to go to the mall and walk past Tiffany’s and Louis Vuitton in their Target shoes. I’m a native Angeleno. I have lived in beautiful Phoenix for 12 years (of my 64). I’m ashamed of the representation that was given and promoted by these carny drivers.
When are you going to have a show in Phoenix? I tried to get tickets for the show I saw advertised earlier this year and the venue didn't know what I was talking about 😢
She ended up canceling the tour when it wasn't selling well & she was willing to inundate her viewers w/ ads for it. She has said as much during a previous video
