This tutorial was one of the most easiest most easy to understand tutorials I have seen for a mushroom hat! And it’s finally a tutorial that I can be creative with!! I really love it you deserve more likes on this
oh my gosh, thank you so much!!
I agree! This tutorial def deserves more than it got, super easy to follow!
I totally agree!!!
I totally agree with u, and this was exaclty the hat I was Searching, the other ones were to detailed
Agreed!! It works so well.😊😊
I LITERALLY HAD EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEEDED AT MY HOUSE! THIS IS AWESOME!
this Halloween I want to do a mushroom hat and I didn't know where to find a tutorial, you saved me and my Halloween ! ty sm, I can be a lil 'shroom now
ahh I'm so glad!!
Thank you sooo much, this changed my life. I always wanted to have a Moushroom hat. now I received Moushoroom hat
This tutorial is simply fantastic, I’m getting married at a Halloween party and I’ve been wanting to make something like this and be a pretty mushroom fairy queen but I was so intimidated by the idea of making it. After watching you, I’m so stoked to make one that my husband and daughter may be getting one too lol thanks for making this 🖤💚
As someone who has only 3 days left to make a mushroom costume, I appreciate the fact that this tutorial is very easy and also has materials that are available for me
I'm so glad and I wish you the best of luck!!
@@nat_sews haha thanks
This is a great tutorial and i finished my hat just in time for ren faire!!! Thanks so much 😊
This was the most informative and easy to follow out of all the mushroom hat DIYs! Thank you
I've attempted this three times.. still can't get it, I've never had this much struggle before. Yours look so perfect!
Oh no!! Don't worry, this was like my 5th time making this type of hat too! But don't worry if it's a little messy- we tend to be our own harshest critics but I'm sure your hats still look wonderful!
I'm working on a mushroom hat on my own (crafting without my parents' help for the first time :D ) and this tutorial really helped! I wasn't sure how to do the gills but thanks to you, the hat is going great ^^
I just made a hat with your tutorial and it was SO easy and straightforward!! Thanks so much for the clear instructions bc now I have a beautiful mushroom hat that I will never take off!!!
THANK YOU I was really going for dressing as a mushroom this Halloween and this tutorial looks so easy omg. The hardest part of it is gonna be to find fabric that I like lmao
You're the real mvp for this tutorial. So easy to follow with lovely results. I'm so excited to try it, you saved my Halloween!
FINALLY ONE THAT HAS NO SEWING ! I am currently making this! 😁
So far mine is kinda janky but it’s looking like I can make it turn out nice in the end! This tutorial is great and easy to understand, thank you!
Beat part abt a mushroom hat is that if the shape isn’t perfect, that’s okay because nature isn’t perfect shapes
I'm in the middle of making mine and while I've got some time to make some more mistakes make with the fabric, the "mistakes" in the cardboard I made really just ended up with a unique look for my cap! My cap ended up fitting most comfortable at a back angle rather than perpendicular which I intended but I actually really like it and even though this is my first project like this, I think mine (and my boyfriend's) are going to turn out really cute!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make a tutorial video, I appreciate you so much! Not only is your hat suuuuper cuuute, but your easy to follow tutorial helped me make a cute hat too! I made it for Halloween :) thank you again so much, thank you for your generosity and hard work
🥺 oh my gosh thank you so much, that's what I hope to achieve!! I'd love to see it if you tag me on Instagram!! ^-^
Easy tutorial 👌 loved it and, saved my Halloween cosplay
Thank you for making this! You made it look super easy. Can't wait to try it! 🍄🍄🍄

Ahh thank u so much!!
This is such a great tutorial! My friend and I are planning to go to the mushroom festival and this will be so awesome to make!
I’m beginning to cosplay and this is the hat I need to make for it. Thank you for making it simple!!!!!
I'm so glad!!
@@nat_sews I finished making the mushroom hat! It came out great!
Awesome! Tag me on insta if you'd like, I'd love to see!!
I'm not done with mine yet but just wearing the almost finished product gives me so much serotonin
I made one of these last summer (calling summer 2023 last summer is weird) after clawing my way out of a depressive episode to give myself something to work on to distract myself, classic red and white fly agaric. This tutorial made it so much easier! Taken another dip recently so decided to take another whack at it. Ink cap this time! Stands to be a bit more complicated than the first. Wish me luck.
Thank you! My little brother LOVES mushrooms so I’m making him a mushroom hat for his birthday but I had no idea how to do the gills. This is by far the easiest to understand tutorial on how to do it! :D
This tutorial is so simple and amazing!! Thank you!
I swear this is the best. I’m making a fur suit for my fursona, Ivy, who is a mushroom mossy ivy dino. With a mushroom hat. This is perfect.
incredibly helpful video, very thorough but not excessive. I can't wait to start making this over the summer
I now have eternal respect the cosplayers who make their entire outfit because I could barely make this mushroom hat in like a week
The best mushroom hat video yet. I've watched everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤
Thank you!! ^-^
I used this video and made such an awesome mushroom hat for Halloween this year. Got a lot of compliments. So thank you!
Omg this is so cool, my friend made it and it looks amazing 🍄
Oh awesome!! If they made it from this video I'd love to see!!

@@nat_sews :> ❤
This was my Halloween custome this year, I Love it :) thanks for the tutorial, really helpful
I'm so glad!! I'd love to see!
I'm making one for halloween this year. Thank you for this helpful video diy is the way to go. 😁
I’m starting my hat and have almost all the base on and so far it’s came out pretty good, so thank you for this tutorial! Mine isn’t rlly even but I think it’ll give the mushroom character lol
Your tutorial is amazing and very simplified!! Patterns can be very hard even for a experience seamstress 😖
Thank you thank you
that's what i was looking for ! i wanna make an mushroom elf cosplay and this one is great!
This was great! Thank you so much. I can't wait to get all the things to make mine and my hubby's
Thank you so much for this I REALLY needed this for Halloween again thanks you so much. :)❤
I’m going to my first ever Ren Faire and I wanted to dress up as a lil inky cap mushroom and I used tacky glue instead of hot glue because I’m a minor and don’t want to burn my fingers. I painted my oversize and underside of my cap with black to make the black ink gradient and it’s so cute. Although I used an old blanket for my fabric (dw my mom said it was ok). Admittedly, the ruffles were probably the hardest part of the whole thing because I was using a thicker material that the one in the tutorial and not hot glue. I was just happy to paint it one more time for one last layer since I that was the last major glue thing I need to do until I could decorate it more with yarn and beads.
This is amazing 👏 ❤ thank you so much❤ this is a REALLY good tutorial ❤ 😊😊 🙈🍄 I Made it and it worked sooo well 😊 didn't think I could make it but I did ! (Well my mum and me 😂😅)
Literally the best video of you want to learn how to make a mushroom hat they have great instructions and don’t skip over any steps
Thank you so much!!
me and my friend are gonna match halloween costumes and we’re gonna try and make them ourselves. this is very helpful, ty for this!
This is great! I was looking for a no sew tutorial and this is perfect! Thanks!! 🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄
Thank you for the tutorial. We were attending the handmade parade in Hillsborough North Carolina and decided to go as mushroom people. Even though we didn't march in the parade. We were a huge hit. You your video made it super easy to make the hats.
Awesome!! I'm so glad you had a great time ^-^
Im going to be using this tutorial for when i make my hat for the renaissance fair 😊
This is seriously a great tutorial! Thank you!
You are genuinely a life saver omg amazing tutorial thank you 🛐💖💖
You’re welcome 😊
Best tutorial I've seen yet ❤❤❤
i'm making a mushroom fairy outfit so this is awesome, i'm prably going to make it tiltes and puffier though, along with the the lace trim and some beads, just generally making it very fancy cause its a very princly outfit
You can use leftover scraps or polyfill to make it nice and fluffy!
Watching this again this year to make a new hat! Doing a classic amanita muscaria
I came here to see how the pleating is done, and boy you did such a good job explaining that!! It was easy to understand and I am going to attempt it now.
I'm so glad it helped!!! ^-^
Thank you, this video really helped me, and it came out soo cute on you. The vid was so easy to follow along with, and I had no trouble, you had explained everything really well.
I'm so glad!! ^-^
Great tutorial! Trying this for Halloween… thank you!
This is perfect! Thank you!
Your video on this is great! Thank you for sharing it ❤
YOUR HAIR IS SO FLUFFY
THANK YOU! I did the pleats twice and hated them! Found this and your way was SOOOOO much easier!
I'm so glad!!! ^-^
That tutorial is great ✨
Awhhhh! It’s so cute! I just watched the whole video! You are really underrated!
Ahh thank you!!
Thank you so much
This looks super cool I can’t wait to make this when I have spear time I have on question when you use the fabric to make the hat look less sharp can it be any fabric or just one type?
Try anything you think looks cool! However the more thick/stiff the fabric is, the harder it is to work with!
Great tutorial! Making a wood blewit hat now for Halloween this year. Really not that hard.
Looks great!
Can you write down the materials and the sizes we need to begin?
my mushroom hat doesn’t stay on my head! i’m not sure how to fix it but anytime i tilt my head, it falls over. do you maybe have any tips?
Maybe putting some type of strap will help. Also adjusting your base so it is better fitting to your head might be worth a try. I haven't made mine yet but those are things that I can think of off of the top of my dome!!
@@plouse9211 yes this is what I'd say! I've added straps to a few of them; I just used ribbon so it still looked pretty, but my friends used small clasps as well! Definitely helps ^-^
i actually used a wide brim hat i had already as the base for mine and it stays on my head better. i have a big head and tons of curly hair lmao so i needed it to be SECURE secure and i think that worked better than cardboard would for me
How much fabric did you buy for this? I’m planning to make a mushroom hat for a friend but wondering a rough estimate of yards needed from the store
Holy crap thank u so much! This is the only tutorial that made sense to me!
Also I love ur hair
Ah I'm so glad it did!! And thank you 🥺❤
As the mushroom queen, i must try this.
I don’t have hot glue :( are there any substitutes I could use instead? I really want to make this!
This is great so far
Hey! I’m on the last step of putting on the bottom fabric, and I really like yours do you know or remember what it was called? If not that’s ok 👌
It was linen that was pre-pleated, from Joanns! They have a light and dark tan
Wow! Thank you so much I’m gonna look online right now😊
Thank you so much! Now i can make a cute cosplay
Can the mushroom hat go on rain?
I wouldn't recommend it, unless you cover it with water repellent fabric! But if it's just a light sprinkle of rain, I think it'll be OK!
@@nat_sews ok thx
I am making this and want to buy fabric, but I'm wondering how much fabric you used in cm?
I got one yard to be safe, so about 91 cm! It ended up being enough to make 2 hats, but I like to have the extra just incase!
So cute!
I can finally be a mushroom fairy
I need to know, could I try using an hat of similar shape from like say, Walmart if I wanted, or would it be better to use cardboard base?
Also what kind of fabric did you use and where did you get it? (I need tips, trying to make an hat for Halloween )
Whatever base you'd like a long as it's sturdy enough, and the fabric is really your choice! I got it from joanns, and the bottom gill fabric was a tan pleated linen
@@nat_sews ok just wondering, because I went to a craft store near me today and the fabric is cut differently then what it is for you in the video and it’s freaking me out, yours is cut more square whilst mine is rectangular
Oh I just cut mine down to fit the hat better! Fabric comes in different widths, and lengths depending on how many yards you get. As long as it covers the hat you're good!
@@nat_sews I got mine in three yards because I heard you say two yards in the video, but the size cuts are very different, but imma try to go to Joans tomorrow so maybe I can find better ones
Hi! Amazing tutorial I have a question! How big did you make your circle for the cardboard ? I like the size of your hat and I wanna replicate the right size 😅💗
I made my circle go out 9 inches from my head, if that makes sense!
Do you know how your friend did the inky mushroom cap? I can't find a good tutorial anywhere. I really like how you made your btw, it looked really good and the tutorial was really easy to follow. Good job!
She made a unique base shape with the cardboard but same process! She has a video on her tiktok @ stendarra
And she painted the fabric in a water color style before attaching it to the shape!
@@nat_sews okay, thank you so much!
Is there any alternative for hot glue, I really need to know
It made very easy.
I know this is a year ago but i would like to ask can the fabric replace like big colored paper aka cartolina can that be possible?
I'm making it and maybe it's because I've never done anything like this but I do think it would rip really easily if you use paper
adding in to the other person, hot glue would melt right through the fabric and also would not bend and fold over the hat as easily
at 0:36 what is the material called? i want to use it but i dont know what its called
That is called batting. You can buy it at most craft stores. It’s used for quilt making
I'm making one for my cat so it's really hard for measuring his head, but it's going along well! {Not finished yet}
Omg I have to see it when you're done!
@@nat_sews Almost finished!
This is a great tutorial! Thanks for sharing. How long do you think it took you to complete?
I've made a few of these now, so I might be a little faster but it took me under 2 hours! It's a pretty quick project :)
This tutorial was very helpful
How much fabric for both top and bottom would you recommend?
I'm so sorry I missed this! I only needed 3/4 of a yard for the top but you could be safe and get a yard if you want, and I believe a half yard for the bottom fabric!
Haha thanks so much I’m doing this for a cosplay with my bsf but ty you made it so easy to understand!
I'm so glad!!
@@nat_sews me too!
About how much fabric did u use lol, like in yards 🥰
I got 2 yards but I only needed 1!
Awesome.
How big did you make it approx?
My top fabric also didn't pull tight, what could have gone wrong?
I NEEDED THIS THANK YOU 😭😄😭😄👍👍👍
I love this so much!
So cute❣️
wish there was a supply list. fabric lengths etc
You just need a yard at most of each fabric ^-^ 3/4 of a yard is just fine
What size did you the brim?
I believe it was 9" out from my head!
I love the tutorial! It helped alot but once i got to the bottom part i started getting ALOT of trouble, i couldn't make the ruffles that the hat needed and i am still currently working on it. If anybody has any way to help me finish ip the ruffly part at the bottom of the hat please help! I'm having so much trouble with it 😭
Make sure the fabric you chose for the ruffles isn't too thick, and maybe something that already has texture so half the work is done for you!
Not me trying to finish my costume a few days before Halloween
I'm literally finishing mine today too lolol
@@nat_sews lolz
Now- to figure out how to add a mushroom hat to a fursuit head without ruining the ears, would you just add the ears onto the hat after?
That might be the best way! Otherwise while the base isn't covered yet, try figuring out where to add holes!
@@nat_sews that's a good idea, I'll try that
@@nat_sews I'm actually going to start making my first suit sometime this year, and I'll include a mushroom hat on the character, thank you for the tutorial- when the fursuit is done, it will be on one of my social medias and I'll send a link when it's done 🤩✨️ probably sometime this spring, before my local comic con, hopefully 😊
I'm finally sketching a character and I'm going to hobby lobby for foam and fur this week, when it's done sometime at the end of the week - next halloween or comic con, then I'll leave a link to a picture of the finished project here
