- As another prequel to the UA-camrs Hamfest on May 23rd, this video is an interview with Andre, K6AH from the AREDN Team. Andre shows us how to plot AREDN node propagation predictions using the Radio Mobile software. This would have been presented at Hamvention inside of the AREDN booth this year.

Jason the biggest turn off to AREDN is that I don't see any real good guide or help on the hardware side. Please help if I'm off base. Your linked page is 404 right now. An in depth "Show me what to buy to start" is needed. There is alot of deep dive tech on their site but nothing I can see to get someone started that just wants to get into it and learn from there. The matrix on equipment is lacking greatly. Sounds like a video in the making to me!

Yes, that isn't a bad idea for a video. I *DO* have videos on how to start in AREDN already, but perhaps a more focused video on Hardware is needed. Thanks for the suggestion. Also see the links from KC0EUW and siewis2u that they shared, which are helpful.

Very interesting show, I have done software radio coverage modelling professionally; the setup cost £250K (~$306K), how does AREDN fund their tool?
Your show has encouraged me to try and setup a node, a one off radio island in London and connect back to AREDEN assuming 'Over the Pond' connections are permitted via the internet.

KC0EUW is correct, Radio Mobile isn't an AREDN tool. It can be used by anyone looking to plot a coverage area for any type of radio signal
