Most people (fans included) are not able to understand how incredibly lucky we are to live in the same era as Oda, and how lucky we are to be able to live week by week receiving one more piece of the world he has created.
YESSS watch it! Eiichiro Oda is literally the J.R.R. Tolkien/ J.K. Rowling of anime...dare I say he is in another league of his own. The worldbuilding, plot/story and characters are INSANE. And let's not forget he not only wrote the story (and he's written it since he was a kid and has known the end in mind already, so every plot point serves a purpose towards a proper ending, not like some writers who make it up along the way), but he draws everything, designed the characters, worlds, etc. I was one of those ppl who put it off for YEARS just 'cuz it was too long. Now I'm 200 episodes away from catching up and I'm actually sad that I only have that much left, I can't get enough of it...so much so that whenever I'm not watching One Piece, I'm watching reaction vids on UA-cam or rewatching montages, or even just rewatching in general. It's a story that will change your life and stay with you forever. Oda puts so much love into not just the main characters, but every single side character has a beautiful purpose that will have your jaw dropped further and futher as each new arc comes around. You'll laugh just as much as you'll cry and honestly I feel Luffy is one of the greatest shounen protagonists of all time. It's so beautiful, if you do get the chance please start

To the question if you should watch One Piece, let me explain it this way: If you don't watch it, you will miss on one of the best experiences in life. There is a reason why it is the second best selling book series on its way to the very top. In the first 50 episodes there are some breakpoints where most of the people can exactly say that they got hooked in those certain episodes. I'm sure it will be the same for you. :)

There is a way to see if One Piece the show or manga is for you without starting it. One Piece Movie 6: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. It's basically a 90 minute One Piece story with all the One Piece tropes and elements before second half of the story and the final saga of the first half. It's got its own spin on the One Piece world, but you get to see the crew up to its seventh member in action, so that's kinda nice. Think of it as a gateway flick for dipping your toes in the pool to test the waters.

It's great man, it's not even just islands. There's mangroves(water trees), vast countries, islands, fortresses built both on water and underneath, and sky islands (I'm sure I'm forgetting some); and each one has it's own seperate culture, national identity, race and history. When you're watching One Piece all the places we visit don't feel like set dressing, they feel like alive places that exist outside of the story that we are merely visiting. We have a lot of media that goes to the point of travelling vast universes and multi-universes but none of them feel as vast as One Piece.

As someone with an awful attention span, and has watched all the big 3 shounen series (Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece), and quit on all of them. I will say with full honesty that One Piece is so good. -Naruto was one of the first animes I ever watched and has big nostalgia for me. I had heard great things about it from a friend and really enjoyed watching it. Quit sometime before if not in the final war because it was losing my interest fast and lots and lots of filler. -Bleach I went in blind, a bit of a harder watch for me but I did enjoy it and do see why people liked it. But it just couldn't keep my interest sadly. I can't remember much of it anymore and have no idea where I quit. -I actually saw a picture of two One Piece characters when they were younger. Don't know why I was so judgy about it, but found the artstyle super weird and said I would never watch this if it was an anime(didn't know about One Piece at that time). Something that is very unlike me actually, and has no idea why I reacted to a picture like that lol A few years later I ended up watching the series, and only remembered that moment with the picture when I saw those two characters in the series again like 400 episodes in or something lol By that point, One Piece had become one of my favorite series of all time, even above Naruto which I held in very high regard still. The only reason I quit was because I caught up with the anime... I simply can't watch anything episodic once a week. It loses my interest so fast, and only after a few weeks, I gave up. One Piece is not perfect, and the pacing can be very bad a certain points, so if you cant binge-watch, it can be such a drag. But the story, the world-building, the characters. It's all so good. I don't read Manga, I simply can't get into it. I am able to read a novel/book sometime, but never manga. But I like to check out the art style and how it is actually laid out in its original form. And even there, One Piece has some of my favorite panels! I was just scrolling through, and some of them left such a big impact on me. That has never happened to me before. I can admire, even be amazed by the art or even the creativity(or lack of in some mangas) put into those panels. But I have never felt impacted by them. Maybe if I read them, actually felt emotions and got into the story they tell. But that is not in my capability. So the fact that some of One Piece's panels could leave an impact on me... Sorry, I'm going off on a rant. My point is, One Piece is worth it. It's a journey. You will see that as soon as you start going from enjoying or liking One Piece, to loving it.

I definitely recommend watching One Piece it is amazing and it has an incredible lore Oda is pretty much a phenomenal creater, it is kinda slow in the beginning only cause its building up the characters and the world so you would understand stand them and the world and how the characters came to be the way they are later on in the show plus the action is 🔥 its cool in the beginning then it gets crazy insane as you go on further into the series, its gonna make you like some characters its gonna make you hate some of them and its also gonna make you cry when something happens

Love the old anime over most of the new stuff. Recent movies and arc aside I think up to the mid-point is some of the best animation. Hand drawn including many Dragon Ball and DBZ animation staff worked on it. Haki is mentioned early on during Jaya, but not really touched/fleshed out at all until much later. World building. If he's referring to early Toonami then he's talking about the 4Kidz dub. I was in high school and they ruined OP for me at first.

Should or Should you not watch One Piece, well I once heard a reactor say One Piece is too long, do you know how many 12ep animes I can watch in the same amount of time and all I can say is you can watch 100s of 12ep anime or 10s of 50-100ep anime and chances are all of those anime put together cant compare to One Piece's story, characters, depth. That is how goted One Piece is, I mean, if got to write a story for over 25years and publish over 1000 chapters and the fans are still loyal and believe the story only gets better you gotta be doing something right, right?

i don't get videos like these. aside from spoiling the other person, you're showing him clips of scenes without context. it means nothing. one piece scenes are epic because of their build up. and you're ruining that by showing him the payoff which again doesn't mean anything to him because there's no context. you're not "coverting" him to one piece, you're ruining his experience once he decides watching the series for real.

Should or Should you not watch One Piece, well I once heard a reactor say One Piece is too long, do you know how many 12ep animes I can watch in the same amount of time and all I can say is you can watch 100s of 12ep anime or 10s of 50-100ep anime and chances are all of those anime put together cant compare to One Piece's story, characters, depth. That is how goted One Piece is, I mean, if got to write a story for over 25years and publish over 1000 chapters and the fans are still loyal and believe the story only gets better you gotta be doing something right, right?
