They're both great packs, and the best pack for you is the one that fits you best. The Aura AG LT does have 2 sizes which will allow for a more customized fit and a host of other features the AG suspension and front shove-it pocket.
Either the Tempest 20 or Sirrus 24 would be a great starting point for a daypack. Osprey also makes the Tempest 30 and Sirrus 36 if you need something slightly large. For carrying overnight gear, something like the Renn 65 or Aura AG 65 is the better option. Hi! It depends a little on what you pack. With a max weight of 40 lbs, it is better suited for smaller, lighter loads and shorter trips. If your kit is ultralight and you can pack 10 days worth of supplies while staying under that weight, there's no reason you couldn't carry it for longer!
I really like the back system of this model but I would prefer something like the Aura (which has more pockets). Unfortunately the Aura just not fit (I'm 1.54 m). Is there any other model with the same back system as the Renn?
Hi Shany! Osprey's Eja pack has a similar back, but is a lighterweight model. Also, the Deuter Futura Air Trek 55 + 10 SL is a heartier pack, like the Renn, and has a suspended mesh backpanel as well.
Hi There! This Viva 50 happens to be discontinued, so for specs on discontinued items, we’d recommend contacting the manufacturer, as they may have records of former products. However, the Renn 65 is a great option for anything from a week long outing to an overnight trip.
Is the max 40lb weight official for this pack, or what you would advise? Wondering what happens after that, if it just compromises comfort and support?
Furthermore! I'm looking for something that could hold up to about 55lb (not that I'd always have it this heavy, but better to have the option), in a similar price range. Is there something else you could recommend?
@@amyfroise2435 40 lbs is the number listed on Osprey's site, so its official. Not many packs can compete with the Renn's price, but something like the Osprey Aura AG 65 would give you a max of 50 lb: www.enwild.com/osprey-aura-ag-65-women-s-2018.html
1:14 I bought this backpack ans I still don't know how I know which loops I should put the back harness on- I'm pretty big? The person in the video is average I guess?
Hi there! When adjusting the harness, you'll want the hipbelt to be resting on top of your hip bones supporting most of the weight, and the shoulder straps to lay flush upon your shoulders. If the straps are hovering above your shoulders, then they are set too high, and if the pack is hanging on your shoulder straps with the hipbelt hovering above your hip bones, then the harness is set too high. It may take some trial and error to find the right height, but it's very important for proper load distribution!
When the pack is full, the dimensions are 26" x 15" x 14". That is larger than the typical carry-on size capacity for US domestic and international flights. Even if the pack is not full, the rigid frame is likely going to be too large to fit inside the requirements for a carry-on. We would suggest getting in touch with your airline to be sure, but we think most airlines would require you to check this bag.
The Rook and Renn are a pack family, with the Renn as the women's specific model and the Rook the unisex model. The features are largely the same, and in both cases, if it fits it can be worn by any user!
Hi! It can be difficult to say due to all of the differences in airline size regulations. You can check out some of the major airlines size regulations on this handy cheat sheet, but it also may be best to check in with your airline to confirm! travel-made-simple.com/carry-on-size-chart/
Hi Rebecca, The Renn 65 would be a great first backpack for a few months traveling in Asia, and if you pack light, you'll still probably have room for a few souvenirs. Happy Trails!
There are no trekking pole bungees or loops, BUT, there are side compression straps that you could use to lash poles to the sides when you are not carrying them.
we are surfing your channel looking at pretty much every review of women's backpacks. thank you to this channel!
this was a perfect video! I couldn't tell from store listings if this bag had the breathable gap frame!! thank you!
What a great and helpful review of the backpack. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
If I had to choose between this one and Aura AG LT 65, for a 10day trip- it’s going to be my first backpacking experience.

No front pocket... what a bad design... Otherwise, looks a good pack.
Is there a reason why this bag is cheaper compared to other osprey bags?
I want to get this pack but see that it's out of stock on your website :( Any plans for restocking soon?
Yes! We should have more in about a week or two. Thanks for watching!
So would this not be good for 10 day trips?
Hi! It depends a little on what you pack. With a max weight of 40 lbs, it is better suited for smaller, lighter loads and shorter trips. If your kit is ultralight and you can pack 10 days worth of supplies while staying under that weight, there's no reason you couldn't carry it for longer!
Some dimensions and weight would have been great. Thx
Hi Mike! The item dimensions are 26" x 15" x 14" and it weighs approximately 3.44 lbs. Thanks!

@@Enwild Thank you so much for your reply I really appreciate it 🙏🙂
I ended up buying the Kyte 66.
so confuse to choose between this osprey renn 65 and deuter aircontact sl 50+10 😕
Great question! We’d recommend reaching out to our Gear Specialists at support@enwild.com for more details. We look forward to hearing from you!
is it better to choose viva 50 or renn 65?

Can this bag fit as carry on while traveling by plane?

what is the difference with the rook 65?
The Rook and Renn are a pack family, with the Renn as the women's specific model and the Rook the unisex model. The features are largely the same, and in both cases, if it fits it can be worn by any user!
Is it ok using women series for men?
Though this model is made with some women's specific features in mind, if it fits, it could be worn by any user!
is this backpack fine for planes, I mean to put in on check bags?

Have you tried to use this bagpack with osprey daylite?
Hi there! The Renn is compatible with with the Osprey Daylite, thanks to the front panel cord loop attachment points.
Enwild thanks!
Does it has significant size difference with renn 50?
The Renn 50 measures 26" x 14" x 13" with 3051 cubic inches, and the 65 26.5" x 15" x 14" and 3967 cubic inches.
How do you put a padlock on it?
Is this a good first backpack for backpacking through Asia for about 2 month or Will this be too small? I plan on packning light.
Hi Rebecca,
The Renn 65 would be a great first backpack for a few months traveling in Asia, and if you pack light, you'll still probably have room for a few souvenirs. Happy Trails!
Does it have a place for hiking poles?
There are no trekking pole bungees or loops, BUT, there are side compression straps that you could use to lash poles to the sides when you are not carrying them.
Light wire frame!!!!!???? It weighs a tonne, I had to dump this bag, threw it in the bin on a walking holiday, it's so heavy!
