    We are lucky to have You so focussed on this technology. I dont think VR would even be a thing if it wasnt for the first Oculus.

      First oculus was made by palmer lucky

      Facebook bought Oculus tech from Palmer Lucky and stripped his ideas and plans down in order to make more profit. They claim they're innovating, but they're only doing now what Palmer wanted to do years ago, they're still stealing his ideas and claiming as their own...

    First, make it invisible that a speaker reads text from on screen display. You can clearly see Marks eyeball moving along text lines while looking at the camera. Simple ML would adjust it on the fly.

      Ever watch Westworld? Season 2 and 3 shows data collection like we’re doing today for incredibly precise predictive capabilities used to control populations. Zuck will collect your data and then use it to control us

    VR users: "We really want better black levels" Meta: "We are experimenting with really bright VR"

      well perceived contrast is actually more important than black levels, increasing the brightness of brighter areas will make the others look darker in contrast, unless you are looking to get an almost black environment, but.. that's pretty rare.

      @@EmilKlingberg There are actually quite a few situations where your view would be mostly black. Dark scenes in games or movies, transitions to black, or dark shadowy areas. Black levels are also an issue that is much more in reach of improving.

    Doesn't feel right that Zuck is building the Matrix

      Its either Zuck or Musk. Musk is already doing this in the physical world, let Zuck take care of it in the metaverse.

    55 ppd at half the fov of a Q2? Not exactly impressive when the Aero can do 35 ppd at about the same fov of the Q2. If they would halve that, it would be 70ppd.

      @@ro94333 Facebook is using a full sized screen to get (far) less than double of the PPD, at half the FoV. Less FoV -> more PPD. That is not difficult. How is that impressive?

    • @r448191
      @r448191 2 роки тому

      @@ro94333 I didn't say halve the display. I said halve the FoV. Again, halve the FoV, double the PPD. You're simply cramming in more pixels in a smaller area of the FoV. Naturally the PPD is going to increase linearly. Ofc your optics and distortion profile need adjusting, but in a nutshell, yes, it is that simple. Show me 55pd at the same FoV of a Quest 2, then I'll be impressed. This is a big fat "so what".
