I noticed a pattern: when Malmsteen gets skinnier, his playing significantly improves. Also the keyboard player does a lot of heavy lifting that nobody notices.

Not true. He actually sounded A LOT better on his bloatlord days (around 1994/95 till early 2000s). Just listen to any bootleg of his Facing the Animal or Alchemy tours.

    Respeito total .

Never bought his albums, but love his stage presence and his mastery of the guitar....

Then you are missing the best part, his incredible song writing skills that is severely overlooked and underrated! Everyone are just focused on his virtuoso guitar playing.

We always smoke some huge doobies before going to Yngwie Malmsteen gigs. We then listen & watch and go Wow, big time. Thanks Yngwie.

That is the most original guitar player alive today. He is like the Elvis of guitar😂 Sure, you got better players, loads of them, Guthrie Govan, if we go straight to the top of the hierarchy, but NOBODY is like Mr Malmsteen, he practically invented his own style and stuck to his guns and is still making a killing in the bank. So hats off to the Swede of speed! A true original! Ps: and probably the most copied guitar player of all time.

What is he dropping from he's left hand between 2.02-2.05?

When he shreds the fretboard, bits of wood come off so he drops them in between phrases.

I looked & looked at that...and my conclusion is, its just the light show and his hand-gesture in sync(perfect timing). A couple seconds later you can see the same lil ball of light again in the same area...going the same direction. ✌

I find the stage setup disturbing. This massive Marshall wall looks a bit Spinal Tap and then not even a drum riser….just strange.

  • @bradshores9617

Imagine the level of narcissism to just say I’m going to stand up here for two hours just playing one long solo. Why even have a bass player or a drummer? Personally I don’t get it but that’s me

Yawn....like watching Spinal Tap with no sense of humour.
The wall of amps, smoke machine, and leather pants stink.
    All technique and zero emotion.
Look for Gary Moore playing red House live to see how it should be done.

Did y'all hear the story about the time he was arrested for assaulting a fan in the audience at one of his shows? Dude threw a jelly donut at him on stage and Yngwie lost his mind jumped in the crowd and beat the snot out of him 😬 🤔 not really 😂 but all kidding aside, nothing but respect and admiration for the "Sweed of Speed" love Yngwie 👍

His ego is so excessive that he doesn't hear all his wrong notes, he plays more and more nonsense. He was a great guitar player, now he's a caricature of himself.

while I never cared much for Yngwie there is no denying his mastery of the guitar. For me there is such a sameness to his playing. Hard to listen for any extended periods. His playing just doesn't speak to me. I am more of a Gary Moore guy. Gary was ferocious and played with passion. Something I find lacking in Yngwie's playing.

@@trevorgwelch7412 what does tone have to do with what I said? There are plenty of people that respect Yngwie's considerable skills but are not necessarily fans of his playing. This is news to you? If he's your guy then enjoy.

    • @matt7967
      @matt7967 Рік тому

Nothing lacking in his playing Dude. You just don't get it. Gary was ferocious but Yngwie even more ferocious. A different style of playing. What you describe as sameness is style, Gary has sameness as well, that doesn't diminish either's style or art form.
