Genuinely one of the most depression inducing endings in video game history. I felt sad for like 2 weeks after playing this for the first time many years ago.
Same. For me, it was the first game i played where the game ends with the main character dying so it caught me offguard. I also probably felt like crap for around 2 weeks

Not until the last couples of minutes I really believed that there wasn't going to be a magical life saving solution for Lee and the second the idea sunk in I felt dead. And the I guess interlude episode between seasons 1 and 2, 400 Days is pretty important. Maybe give it a few weeks though until after the holidays. Season 2 isn't exactly holiday cheer inducing either LOL
Its funny. Even after all these years, no matter how many times I play or watch this episode and no matter that I already KNOW what’s gonna happen, it still hits me. I’ve been a fan of this game since it came out, I basically grew up with Clem (first season I was 10 while she was 8, last season I was 17-18 while she was 16). So Ive grown very attached to this game, Clem and all the characters.

The tragedy of Ben’s backstory gets revealed in this chapter if you kept him alive. He snaps when Kenny gets mad at him and says that at least Kenny got to say goodbye to his family. Ben never learned what happened to his parents or little sister cause he had to go on the school trip before the outbreak. Tragic stuff. With Ben alive, the balcony breaks when you’re jumping roofs and Ben gets impaled with walkers closing in on him. Kenny sacrifices himself and puts Ben out of his misery before they can get to him which feels like a better arch for Kenny’s character considering the other chapters.
Even now im STILL seeing new dialogue for good old kenny. Hearing his small speech about not giving up even when things get hard makes me even more firm in my stance that saving ben is the canon choice, gives it a whole new meaning when he uses a gun that was used to give up during a hard time to selflessly sacrifice himself to make sure ben didnt turn, even after everything that happened. everyone i have seen play this game has AT LEAST teared up lol. the way it grabs hold of the players emotions through the screen is insane. I love these games, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your playthrough and I hope you dont stop here :3

It is definetly not the saddest scene in any video game. The last of us took that. (in both part 1 and part 2) One of the saddest, maybe, but no the saddest.
@@torifreeman6410 It doesn't matter what "they consider" it simply isn't. The others are considerably more sad. Also I clearly mentioned there were "two" sad moments in both (TLOU part 1 and part 2) and neither one of those scenes are similar to this scene; no where close.

As well as the other scene in part one where you watch an innocent child get shot and watch a father have to hold his child helplessly has she dies in pain in his arms. Yeah; not at all similar scenes. This was sad because we grew close to lee but it wasn't the at the same level of sadness as the other game.
Lee truly was a great guy he helped everyone sometimes against his better judgment and he went above and beyond loving and keeping Clementine alive like she was his own daughter, Lee's family would be proud of him and now he's reunited with them RIP to the Goat Lee Everett 😭🙏🕊️
They did such a good job with this game. Great character development! Great story telling. Always brings out emotions when I see people play it. So good

Everyone who cuts off lees arm don’t know that it’s pointless to do that. If you do that to survive the bite it has to be immediately after the bite. Which it’s clear that it’s been at least 1-2 hours since he’s been bitten. The virus has already spread. So cutting off his arm just makes lees final hours worse but you also miss out on the bad ass glass scene
It's one of the most emotional games i have ever played and thats coming from a guy who does not express emotions at all. Love to see Clems futher story from your perspective. Love
Great playthrough, Emma! You did well, there goes another victim of Telltale’s first season 😅 But the real adventure starts just now, it is Clem’s journey only right now and everything you are going to see and witness in the next seasons (especially S2 ) will change everyone. I’d like to think about the first season as a prologue for what’s about to happen to Clem in the future because almost everything will consist and be built around her character changing her completely and that thanks to Lee, what an awesome character he was 😔 I’ll always get teary eyed! Can’t wait to see your reaction!

This is a game that continuously pulls decisions out of you based on your genuine feelings. It's difficult to make choices that are not based on your heart. Even when you go for the practical option, your conscience can gnaw at you. So when you get to the ending and the culmination of all these heartfelt decisions, I think your heart is open and vulnerable. This is easily one of my favourite games of all time. The only reason I can watch the ending with dry eyes is because I've seen so many people get there over the years. And even if the eyes are dry, I still have the feelings. Thank you for letting yourself be open and vulnerable while playing it. One of the things I love about your channel is that even when you're glib and making jokes, the emotional honesty shines through. That's a hard thing to do. And as good as this game is, that ending must have been hard too. I'm glad you made it.

Every game in the series is gold. Honestly the second and last games are just as good if not better in a lot of ways, but the dynamic between lee and clem is hard to beat.
Very emotional ending. I know you had said you always wanted to play so I'm really glad you had a chance to. If you decide to continue some day, the DLC "400 Days" is technically next. It's about an hour and a half long but it is not essential so up to you. There's also some other great Telltales like "The Wolf Among Us" and "Tales From The Borderlands" if you're ever interested. Great playthrough Emma!

I’ve played this game so many times and watched so many people play through it and the ending of this episode never gets any easier to watch. I wish I could have given you a hug after Lee died. It’s still one of the saddest and hardest deaths ever. This game is one of the greatest games of all time and will always be one of my favorites. You should play the 400 days DLC and you must continue the story in Season 2. I enjoy your videos so much Emma ❤

What a heartbreaking ending😢 I did not expect Lee to die in the end to be honest, i feel sorry for Clem having to shoot her loving guardian and possilby father in the future.

I’m aware of all four seasons and how they end because I’ve been watching game play since I was a little girl but the ending of season one never fails to make me sob. I’m currently playing season three for myself and I am still so sad over Lee’s death. Rest in peace to a real one. I miss him and Clem’s bond :(
I've literally only cried from a game twice in my life. This was one. The other was Mordin's last moments in Mass Effect 3, but at least that one had some sweet in the bittersweet.

Also if u remember the scene where Lee was talking to Clem he says “And one more thing.” But he doesn’t finish it I thought he was out of breath maybe from the bite, but someone told me that it was because Lee was going to tell Clementine I love u, but I guess it got removed and instead they decided Lee wanted to say it, but he thought it was too soon since she just discovered that both her mother and father died so it wasn’t the right moment for him to say that. People even said when they played it with captions if choose one of the choices “I’ll miss u” or that particular moment I mentioned that the subtitle’s says “I Love u” instead I miss u 1:20:25

It’s still one of the saddest and hardest deaths ever. This game is one of the greatest games of all time and will always be one of my favorites. You should play the 400 days DLC and you must continue the story in Season 2. I enjoy your videos so much Emma ❤

Yes Please! i want to see you do the rest of the series. Its an amazing series for every season. My favorite in order of seasons are 1, 4, 2, and then 3. 3 is still a great season even if i rank it the lowest, thats how good this is! Also if you like these kind of emotional and heavy story line based games, play the Last of us Part 1 and 2 if you havent already. im new to your channel so i havent looked to see if you have played them yet. What a heartbreaking ending😢 I did not expect Lee to die in the end to be honest, i feel sorry for Clem having to shoot her loving guardian and possilby father in the future.
this video game is the only video game to ever make me ugly cry. I’m aware of all four seasons and how they end because I’ve been watching game play since I was a little girl but the ending of season one never fails to make me sob. I’m currently playing season three for myself and I am still so sad over Lee’s death. Rest in peace to a real one. I miss him and Clem’s bond :(

Also if u remember the scene where Lee was talking to Clem he says “And one more thing.” But he doesn’t finish it I thought he was out of breath maybe from the bite, but someone told me that it was because Lee was going to tell Clementine I love u, but I guess it got removed and instead they decided Lee wanted to say it, but he thought it was too soon since she just discovered that both her mother and father died so it wasn’t the right moment for him to say that. People even said when they played it with captions if choose one of the choices “I’ll miss u” or that particular moment I mentioned that the subtitle’s says “I Love u” instead I miss u 1:20:25
