- This is video I put together for my customers that build vintage style amps that don't have a master volume and then go looking for solutions to playing them at home friendly levels.
The highlights of the video are
1. Don't go down the path of resistive attenuators for getting tv volumes, there are better options.
2. Sound Samples comparing the Suhr Reactive Load and the Two Notes Torpedo Reactive Load @ 2min 30sec
3. Video footage of what the actual reactive loads look like and a gentle point in the direction of what I think is the best solution. See
www.aikenamps.com/index.php/d...
4. How to set up for playing at home through your guitar cab. - Наука та технологія
Not going to take a guess as I'm pretty sure which is which having done an EQ match on both loads (well, the Reload. Unsure if its different)
I think both of them sound different, but neither is bad.
definitely A in all 3
Hi, I just bought one of your 69 Plexi kits and I plan to play it at home. So your video here might help a lot. What was your exact setup here. Guitar into Amp into reactive load into ? into ? What speakers did you use or did you record directly into a computer?
Thank you for your help.
Thanks!
I was running into the computer here and using IRs. I am in the process of putting together a reactive load with power amp in one unit to run directly into a speaker cab too
Thanks for the interesting comparison. Did you use IRs for the speaker simulation?
Yes. IRs are best way for capturing consistent sound in the small room I have for recording.
It's load A for me
A has a better low end that sounds like it's moving air. B sounds slightly sterile.
Ha. Now I've watched the rest. Modelling. That's a swear word in this house.
@@acooper8910 ha ha. Needs must. But you don't need the speaker modelling
B is better
