- LG has made their G7 name longer this year by adding a ThinQ next to it. Does anyone know what it means? No. But here we are. The LG G7 ThinQ is here to be durability tested. Can the LG G7 handle the rigors of every day life? or will it fall victim to weak build quality and cheap materials. How's the phone so far? looking into buying one soon
Had for three weeks so far. I really like it. Came from a note 3 so much more power. Only thing is I do miss the look of the note 3's oled screen in dark environments, blacks are black. I find myself using the google assistant more that actually touching the phone. It's more useful than most people think. Wired Earphones and headphones sound just that little extra special when connected to this phone.

I own this phone. It's a 5/5 star phone. Best of the best. Refined. Fast. Sleek. Internal and External Audio are top tier. This is a serious phone.

Is the battery life okay ?
Yes battery life is good
The minus is just the OLED display
A heavy skin, lack of periodic updates, only 8 mp front camera and 3000mah battery, if those issues would have been addressed the phone going to kill most of the flagship and flagship killer in one blow. i doubt if the 3000 mah would sustain entire day.
LG is so underrated. They totally give Samsung a run for their money.

Hey Jerry! Amazing video. As a little feedback, I think you should register your fingerprint BEFORE scratching the scanner and then test it, as you normally have your fingerprint registered before the scratches happen, and the phone can simply register the scratches as ridges and work with the authentication.

Boss Quoss I had a G6. It lagged and froze. I had to factory reset it weekly for anywhere near smooth usage. The bloatware and custom skin wasn't pleasant. The camera was disappointing. Battery life was low.
@@tomfarrell.1 people keep saying that lg phones always have issues but I had the Optimus line and all the g up to 5 and never had a single problem with any of them.

Due to your videos of the lgv30 last year a bought one and love it . Had it just over a year and it's still mint . Probably won't switch back to Samsung due to the lg phones offering generally the same hardware with out the annoying curved screen I'm not a fan of .

I agree I bought a cheap 80 dollar LG rebel 2 and it still is good other than the 5 megapixel cam and some slow processing it has held up better than any Samsung I have had before

I bought the G6 last year and have been absolutely loving it. LG's been doing a really good job with their phones, the fact that they are still sane enough to keep the headphone jack really pleases me. Here's hoping they can keep up the good work.

Here's the durability test of chocolate cookie:
Scratch test
Scratch it with level 2 pick and you will get a scratch instantly.
On sides, same as above if using level 2 pick, but with razor blade (for both on top and sides) you wil end up cutting the whole thing. Use a other cookie for the next test.
Burn test: Put the cookie under a lighter and whole thing gets burned and fried,just like Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Use another cookie for the next and the final test.
Bend test: Bend the cookie, just like the iPhone 6 Plus, and it becomes into 2 or broken pieces.
Durability rating: Absolutely worst
Where will it end up: Shelf of Shame
But every cookies are like that. Phone is still phone, cookie is still cookie.
Cookies are weak, they are not like these hard and sturdy phones. Cookies are meant for eating, while phone is for social life.

I don't even care much about the quality of the phone, I just love watching these because his voice in these is extremely satisfying to listen to
Great vid man. I'm enjoying my G7 ThinQ. Especially after replacing my old cell from 2013. It's amazing what these tiny computers can do. I love the wide screen for playing games too and it allows you to zoom in on UA-cam vids to fit the elongated screen.

Using the same phone as Zack's mom. Nice. Not planning on upgrading to the G7 though - not many new features apart from a notch, which I hate anyways.
The Stig's German Cousin I'm still rocking a g5. No reason for to upgrade if everything works perfectly fine on your phone
The g6 is a beast, a year later mine still looks & feels new
Tungsten Carbide I've been using mine for 9 months now, still perfectly fine apart from some scuff marks on the frame which are unavoidable. Using MNML case and screen protector though. Still really happy with the G6, certainly the best phone I've ever owned.

_- Thrown it at a wall_
_-Thrown it at a person_
_- Put my weight on it_
_- Fallen off my bike on an elavated road going ungodly speeds downwards_
_- Probably actually dropped it down that same road_
_- Etc._
I'm not kidding. My mom thought I had a screen protector. There's currently just a scratch or two.

Just bought a g7 replacing my s9plus. As the s9 was run over by a semi truck.. But believe it or not it still worked to some degree , at least enough to transfer data..

The thing that persuaded me to recommend this phone to my brother was its durability. IP68 and the sturdy drop-resistant build are really great.
This was so stressful, but thank you SO much. I picked up the G7 yesterday in raspberry so this was painful to watch lol, new subbie though.

I.e im from Indonesia and well G5 isn't available in here so the only flagship is G5SE and they cost almost the same as G5 (G5se is $100 lower compare to G5...).
Just if u interested I'll write down why G5 didn't come to some country especially mine,
The reasoning behind this is because
1. Cheaper than G5 so people in developing country will be more likely be able to buy that. the problem is 8.5M IDR is not cheap even S7 and S7E which is 8.1m and 9.5m IDR sell really well so i and other people buy the S7 and i get S7E for myself. LG really underestimate premium market in some country.... (LG said if they sell g5 it will be around 9.5m same as S7E)
2. My country didn't support for 4G LTE+(only 4G) so they gave us G5SE SD 652 they said it is still flagship same spec same update just the SoC is different because 4G+ is waste we are ready 4g not 4g+ so they gave us only 4g SoC. Sadly in 2017 my country is 4g+ ready and now I'm using v20 and everywhere i go my signal is 4G+.... I can't confirm for G5Se.....

What people fail to realized is that smartphones ain't getting a big upgrade when they cone out every year. The s8 and s9 is kinda the same but with different internal eg snapdragon 835 and 845. Sometime the s8 even takes better photos than the s9. Same thing with iPhone, etc... Only thing that changes drastically is the price.

I'm really liking mine man. Has tons of nice features. The headphone jack on the bottom of the phone is nice for quick in and out of the pockets stuff. My PSP emulators and everything run like a dream too. I hope you emjoy yours man.
Last year my father bought a G6 because your bend test video and after 2 months he gave it to me. He said G6 too expensive for *just whatsapp-ing* . So he changed to G5. We both don't complain anything, except battery issue and limit of accesories

My phone just died on me after 2 years of operation. There was an open spot on the corner that lead to an area under the display I think and humidity caused condensation to fill it with water, killing my battery. Funny enough it still worked, it just needed to stay on a wireless charging port. What a trooper.
