The 'Davinci Rexolve' workflow is super streamlined once you get used to it >> and the addition of the 'Speed Editor' interface for the 'Cut Page' is perfect >> I switched from Premier Pro and the whole feel of the program and editing process is much more refined and dare I say it 'Professional' >> keep up the great content 👌💯👀🎥😎🌟

I'm not sure if it will take over completely... but it's going to change things pretty drastically and I agree that it's important to be educated on those changes. I switch from Premiere not too long ago but I still have premiere because I know people will ask for edits in premiere. I want to learn Final Cut as well.

Totally makes sense! I think knowing all of them will be a huge advantage. Especially if you're working with different teams!

To preface, I don't intend to sound argumentative. I'm merely countering points with what I believe to be overlooked facts in the matter. In the end, the best NLE is the one that works the best for the editor. I have no skin in the game and am frankly a big skeptic of BM, mainly for their absolute and complete lack of support for even purchased hardware and for the mind-numbingly obvious bugs that constantly make their way into Resolve.
Resolve is optimized for Apple so I'm not sure how you can cite iMovie Pro's compatibility with Mac as a reason to avoid Resolve. Not trying to fanboy but if you start out a video comparing the two then it should be done factually and truthfully. And Final Cut is not professional. Nobody uses it or Capcut or Hitfilm. TBH, Resolve is just barely professional aside from Color and maybe Fusion. The professionals use Premiere and Avid, so those are professional. I think it's funny that people criticize AI for taking our jobs. I mean, don't NLEs take film editors' jobs? There are a LOT more editors today than there ever were in the film days so I don't think the caution pans out. AI is just another tool, like an NLE is a tool, that makes our lives easier. Bemoaning it instead of adapting and moving along with the future is a sure-fire way to fail (which is NOT to say I think AI is generally good. There are some great things and some terrible things.) Towards the end you bemoan Resolve for not being fast enough. Any NLE will ingest and then deliver footage basically the same. The lost time is in between. Not understanding the tools or taking the time to develop shortcuts will certainly result in lost time. But that's not a shortcoming of the software. There is a cut page which (so I've heard...haven't used FCP in many years) basically emulates the FCP workflow. There is a speed editor device for that page which speeds it up even more.

A lot to answer here, but I guess the one thing I’d approach first is the fact that you’re saying it’s designed for Apple products. It’s a huge difference between being designed for, and developed by. Final Cut Pro will probably always run more smoothly, because it’s made by Apple itself. Davinci on the other hand, is developed by Black Magic and therefore it’s not Apple’s own. It’s also a software that’s made for PC and Mac.
This is in no way criticism of Davinci. That’s my go to these days, and I love it.
I also question the fact that you say I’m not doing it truthfully and factually. Final Cut is def. Used by professionals. Yeah, more professionals use premiere and Davinci, but FCP is still a professional tool. Ans that is my honest opinion.

I've been using Final Cut back in the day for 3+ years, but switched to DaVinci out of spite since v16 as I did not have enough budget for a good mac (had a 2015 MacBook Air) & got a PC. Now I haven't turn my back ever since I have the m1 Pro. (Occasionally still using Final Cut but not my primary editor anymore)

AI is something that is enabling the content hunger that our current culture has. All these metrics and numbers about how much content is uploaded to UA-cam every minute is proof that people want content, and a lot of it gets lost in the sea of videos.
I think that has contributed to us creatives being expected to produce good quality content really fast, We are overwhelmed by deadlines. part of me thinks that AI will help to produce results faster since that's what the current market needs, but I'm not sure if we will need someone who knows what to do when it comes to video editing. Tools don't work if you don't know how to use them, I mean editing and filmmaking used to be something that was not accessible for everybody only a few had access to such tools, but now everyone has a camera and everyone can install an editing software, does that mean that they know what to do? how to make things work? The answer is no, with midjourney for example the more info and the more technical you are the better results you can get, that means that you still need the knowledge, who knows if that will be the case in the near future. The best possible scenario that I see is that video editing will become more like a process where we give commands to the software and the software does the manual labor for us, we still need to conceive ideas but we wont need to do the execution, hopefully that way we can keep our jobs in this beautiful industry and art.

As much as I love Final Cut, I can't argue with the fact that Davinci is evolving every month, you can clearly see developers's passion, and Final Cut is if not dying then stagnating for sure.

When Apple went from FCP 7 to X, they did this whit iPhone users in mind, giving the pro users the middle finger and they're not going to look back or going anywhere, there is a lot of people buying FCP for that reason, but if you're a Pro user, Resolve its going to be your only option right now and in few years from now, its going to be very hard to ignore. @@bamrainey
