    I love how Dick walked away with the mic and Mark was trying to get it back before the tape playback of the next song started! These guys were a lot of fun back in those days.

    I got Joe, Jr's autograph when I was maybe 8 years old. My sister and her friend drove like hell to the local Holiday Inn after the show, chasing him down. He had gone back to the hotel alone, not feeling well, but he was kind enough to autograph a piece of scrap paper for this little kid. I'll never forget that.

    "We wanna do a real good job of faking it." It was no secret that bands lip-synched on TV, but it wasn't often that they blatantly admitted it, right in front of the producer, the host and the audience.

      @@jamesharrison6201 TRUE---BRITAINS TOP OF THE POPS, WAS ALWAYS LIP SYNCED, WITH A FEW EXCEPTIONS IN THE 80S 90 S, WHEN A FEW TOP BANDS INSISTED ON LIVE PERFORMANCES. THIS WAS WHEN THE LIVE TECHNOLOGY, WAS ALMOST LIKE STUDIO.

    • @tod3msn
      @tod3msn Рік тому

      @@scdevon You don't know what you are talking about. It just was easier for bands to lip sync and easier for the shows to not have to record them live. Paul Revere played until his passing and was a good musician and Mark Lindsey did a lot package tours in recent years doing his and the Raiders hits. To lip sync had nothing to do with the talent but everything to with the practical aspects of playing live for the shows.

    Here is a bit of history that no one knows that Charlie coe has a brother name Chansey coe with niece Kim coe and Chansey married a half native woman named Phillies Miller with her daughter name Jamie Miller. Back in 1965-66 Paul Revere and the raiders was practicing in a basement of Chansey coe's home in Idaho 2 little girls Charlie's niece Kim with her sister in-law Jamie was playing and running around the band while they were practicing. To make a long story short I'm the son of Jamie Miller now known as Jamie Wagner. P.s Jamie still calls Charlie coe Uncle.

      Sad, really, listen to their version of Louie Louie, far better than the Kingsmen. Listen to Steppen Out and Kicks they were and are great pieces of music. If you read Mark Lindsay's account of the band, the clowning came about when they were performing live in the very early days. The audience loved it, so they kept doing it.
