Listening now to this beautiful rendition of Sleepwalk >> Just absolutely out of sight >> Also love that Guitar work of Steve Wariner who also plays Steel >>> Such tone and feeling >>> God Bless Rolene >>>
I agree with you 100%. It goes like this: In MOST cases NO one has been able to top what the original musician did on a given song. But there are a few examples of that from time to time. IMHO, Tom topped what Santo and Johnny did in the '50's when they recorded this forever classic. Yes there has been a plethora of whom have tried, but until Tom's rendition; NO one has equaled or topped the original duo. Tom's innate talents from Heaven came from Jesus. For what he had can NOT be learned. Not now. Not no how. May Jesus rest his precious soul.
Tom was such a tremendous player and great guy. This is terrific rendition with lots of great alternate changes and soulful improve. Loved all of his work and really dug him with Rick and the Stone Canyon Band. I'm sure you're playing with a lot of badd cats in Heaven!
Tom had a very unique touch with the right hand on the strings. He could evaluate how much pressure to put on the string, especially on chord strikes,so as to not overemphasize a note tone. One of the prettiest players that there is.

+Basil Henriques The Tom Brumley version is a fine display of superb steel playing: However the important effect of the 4m chord is totally negated and although Tom's playing is Par Excellence, he should have pointed out the Fm was missing, the arranger should be ashamed for such a bad mistake with the backing.
Bob Brumley and I always played this. Bob passed years ago but I still miss him and our comp work Thanks Tom.
Tom was just an incredible player. Seen him numerous times at steel shows. Great guy, master musician.

ii7 with a flat 5, not minor 4; pay attention to your root movement/dominant function and voicing!
I have this tabbed out completely as played by Tom.
