I took up guitar one year ago, but have been a woodwind player (primarily bari sax), since I was 10. Of course, the bari player in this performance is a cool dude, we all are! haha
It's not hard at all. I learned to play it years ago without a whammy bar. Don't get me wrong. I like Beck but, it really is an easy song. Hell, youtube has tutorials on how to play it.

I've been a Jeff Beck fan since 1965 when I first saw him on TV with the Yardbirds..I saw Beck play with his original lineup in 1967 or '68 at Central Park in NYC - Mick Waller,Ron Wood,Rod Stewart. The amazing thing is Beck gets more incredible with age.Where others hit their peak decades ago he continues to improve his sound,technique and best of all - his soul.He plays with more feeling than ever.Truly amazing player - one of a kind.May he live forever!!!!!!

I was truly shocked and taken aback when I heard of Jeff’s passing. What an amazing approach he had towards the instrument. I believe Hendrix showed us what the guitar could do, but Jeff showed us how it should be played. There will never be another like him.

I can’t say how much I enjoy this. Jeff one of the best guitarist of all time. My top 3-5 Hendrix, gilmour, satrinani, J Beck. SRV. I was blessed to meet him 2times and he signed a concert poster I did for his show here in Austin.
First time I came across this I was blown away... had to re-listen and take notes on how the Master Beck plays a lap steel song with his fingers instead on a fretted strat. Gotta love Jeff. Nobody can pull the stuff he does.

I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff in 1989. Stevie performed first to thundering applause......and then.....Jeff started playing. The crowd was absolutely dumbfounded into silence. His skills were so far superior and nobody wanted to make a sound for fear they'd miss something. To this day, I've never heard a crowd of people be so quiet. Incredible. I'll never forget.

He has an excellent live performance from the Crossroads Festival, from 2007. That performance got me to listen to his more recent music at the time. Look for young Tal Wilkenfield there on bass.

That is a very tough song to play on a normal guitar, the original was recorded on a lap steel. Great job, as always, by Jeff Beck. And I believe the horn section is part of the Wrecking Crew.
No its not, it’s simple triads for the most part with the occasional licks lmao. I love Jeff Beck but there’s absolutely no need to oversell a song. The fact is only he could manage to make such a simple song sound as lovely as he did.

I was blessed to know this fine artist and friend for over 40 years. He was a guest at my home in Lucerne Switzerland on several occasions and played with other artists here too. True Genius..

Wish I could have that feeling of just discovering Beck. Then going back to the Yardbirds through to now.
He has an excellent live performance from the Crossroads Festival, from 2007. That performance got me to listen to his more recent music at the time.
