    Poor Queen Ena. You need to do a history video on her. From an assassination SM attempt on her wedding day to a blood stained wedding dress and her husband turning against her bc of hemophilia in her son and exile after the Spanish Civil war. So much tragedy.

    I had no idea the Spanish royal house has so many tiara's. Some very unusual designs, most of which are beautiful. I just loved Queen Letizia's hair at Crown Princess Victoria's wedding. That softer look with that very pretty tiara really suited her. Thank you for the story.

    This is great I absolutely loved hearing about the various Spanish tiaras, as well as the interesting fact about the one tiara being sold, and bought it back by the dictator. In watching the video you talked about how the queen wore the tiara to Princess of Sweden‘s wedding and it made me want to actually see the dress she wore with it. Perhaps in the future you might do royal wedding dresses for and attire for older weddings of different countries. Like the weddings of each of the current ruling monarch, since they’re all relatively young and more likely to have videos. Great job I love your channel you do a great job with it.

    The Niarchos Ruby Bandeau Tiara actually needs to be worn exactly the way it is. It is mounted on a red velvet headband now. Interestingly, Queen Sofia wore it once in a double row, meaning she added another, exactly the same band (riviere style) of rubies to it, all together worn without the velvet headband, which added much more height and, of course, value and sparkle to the whole thing. Then she had one riviere only mounted to the velvet base and worn it this way since.

    So interesting about the dictator! Same happened in the former Yugoslavia where the post war dictator also appropriated all the royal family's possessions. People in power...😮

    • @marilena7848
      @marilena7848 Рік тому +3

      Franco did not appropriate royal possessions. In fact, as with the tiara here, he purchased back some things that the exiled royals had had to sell and then either gave them to the royals or held them in Spain for the restoration of the monarchy.
      Franco did not overthrow Alfonso XIII and send him into exile. It was those who established a republic who did that --- and then Franco overthrew the republic, supposedly to restore the monarchy.
      But .... as you say, "people in power." Mustn't rush this restoration thing! Have to make sure the nation is under control first! Took him almost 40 years and nearing death to make good on the promise. 🙄

    • @Xiroi87
      @Xiroi87 4 місяці тому

      Nobody overthrew the monarchy save for the people with democratic elections. There was no coup. Franco, in the other hand staged a coup which resulted in a 3 year long devastating civil war which he eventually won.

    Thank you for this, it was so enjoyable to watch. It's hard to choose a favorite but maybe I'm leaning towards the floral tiara! As for a mask with a tiara, it probably could have worked better if it wasn't your standard grade white mask. Look at the iconic photo of Princess Catherine with the black mask with her black hat and netting for Prince Philip's funeral. The mask actually added to the look. It wasn't with a tiara but I'll bet there would be a way to make a statement with a tiara as well!

  • @dorisschneider-coutandin9965

    Actually, the Ansorena Princess Fleur-de-Lys Tiara was purchased by now Queen Letizia, then Princess of Asturias, because Queen Sofia used most of the other tiaras and Letizia's options were limited. As she then became queen a little sooner than anticipated and gained command on the full range of the Spanish jewel collection, I now believe they keep the Ansorena Princess as a starter piece for the current Princess of Asturias, Leonor. That was the intention behind it, I believe. It might be a "Princess exclusive" thing.

    Hi, Brittany.
    Francisco Franco didn't deposed the Spanish Monarchy.
    In 1931, Alfonso XIII renounced and run away bc the II Republic was voted, in part for his own behavior: a spoiled, coward and lazy brat who supported the Primo de Rivera's dictatorship in the 20's. He didn't lost the throne before thanks to his mother, deeply respected even for the republicans ("Republicans only hat off in front of God and the Queen Mother"), and his aunt Infanta Isabel, dearly nickname La Chata, The Short, who was beloved at that level, that the Republican Gov garanted her belongings and security if she want to stay in Spain, but her loyalty and family love was the most important for her, so she traveled very sick, only to die days later in Paris with her family.
    Francisco Franco, with a lot of others military higth ranks, started a coup in 1936. In his side where monarchists, national fascists, Italian and Germans militars, ultracatholic volunteers...
    His promise was to restore the SRF, but he hated Prince Juan, so he said he will to restored it if he could educated the heir. Later, he forced to Prince Juan to renounced to the throne to his son.

    Right Brittany, Stavros Niarchos was a Greek shipping magnet billionaire. (This kid must've been a grandson.) Niarchos' chief rival was the infamous Aristotle Onassis (2nd husband of President John F. Kennedy's widow, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.) Of that generation: Grace Kelly, or Princess de Monaco Graces's, beauty outshone even the sparkling tiara she was wearing. Grace really was the most stunningly beautiful Princess (ESPECIALLY American-born European Princess--you know who I mean), ever to 'grace' a Royal House. Pictures agree.
