  • Well guys for those of you that noticed something isn’t exactly right. The GT15 wasn’t able to blow the red cap off the turbo outlet even at full throttle. The GT15 may just be to big for the D750. Next we are going to inspect the waste gate and exhaust to make sure we don’t have any leaks.

      Check out some of the other videos on the channel. We have a few videos of the turbo Kubota including one making boost. Unfortunately the Amazon radiator failed (spraying coolant out of a fin point). She is going to probably get a custom manifold, aluminum radiator, and maybe a intercooler in the spring. Funds and time permitting.

    How do you run the oil feed/return lines

    • @cbr600rx7
      @cbr600rx7  Рік тому

      Off the oil sensor port. Just add a tee and you can keep the sensor/gauge and add a supply line. Return is a little more tricky and depends on where you mount the turbo.

  • @lemjohnson6798
    @lemjohnson6798 2 роки тому +7

    Another thing factor you have to look at is, the red cap is on the intake restricting flow and the exhaust is wide open. If you make the exhaust smaller it would build boost way easier.

    • @Mr.Engineer.
      @Mr.Engineer. 2 роки тому +6

      That is incorrect.
      you want to restrict the turbo as little as possible and have the larges possible pressure difference between the inlet inducer and exducer on the turbine housing.

    • @cs-gj3yf
      @cs-gj3yf Рік тому +1

      @@Mr.Engineer. that is incorrect, you want to have the same amount of back pressure as boost, 10 psi boost you'll want about 10 psi of backpressure or less if you can maintain boost levels.

    • @Mr.Engineer.
      @Mr.Engineer. Рік тому +4

      @@cs-gj3yf Read it again, you want the highest possible pressure drop over the turbine inlet and outlet.
      Unless you have a leak it is impossible to have lower exhaust manifold pressure than inlet pressure.
      So, you do not want a restrictive exhaust after the turbo and it also helps to have a less turbulent exhaust manifold design before the turbo turbine inlet.

    • @cs-gj3yf
      @cs-gj3yf Рік тому

      @@Mr.Engineer. its called a wastegate, again, if your making 10 psi back pressure and 5 psi of boost, you want to drop 5 psi of back pressure. its the reason all the diesel guys want wastegates in the exhaust manifold before the turbo.

    If its not a turbo engine its not gonna be reliable . Turbo have stronger internal . Even just the fire ring have different gap . If the 2 end toutch it will expand in diameter and jam into the bore cylinder . The top piston will pop and make metal soup .

      Turbo many and I mean many non turbo engines both gas and diesel and never had a issue. There are guys running double digit boost on these kubotas at double the stock horsepower on completely stock motors. Keep in mind on a stock diesel you normally see a decrease in EGTs initially until you start increasing fueling.

      You are correct the GT15 with 0.45 AR was a little big. We are going to a smaller turbo now that may be to small lol. Truthfully if I could do it over again I think a GT12 with around a 0.32AR would be about perfect for a D705-D750 running stock RPMs and fuel. With that being said the GT15 would probably work well for modified guys turning higher RPMs and more fuel.

      That’s why we went down to a RHB-31 lol. It would probably have worked on a hot pulling set up with a lot of fuel and rpm. I think. GT12 with something like a .35 AR would have also worked.

      Yes they are used in pulling competitions, look up limited pro stock garden tractors. They use this turbo for 50~ psi boost. I have a kubota d600 with a turbo and it makes 13+ psi. But people use kubota, yanmar, cat, etc.

      That’s the way it came out of the box and it didn’t matter since the turbo wasn’t making any boost with stock fueling/stock rpms. Sometimes like a GT12 with a 0.35 AR would have probably been about perfect.

      It’s a 750cc engine. With more fuel and more RPM especially for a compatible puller the GT15 is probably about the right size especially with a smaller AR. For a work tractor something like a GT12 would on a 0.35AR would probably be better.
