I was just at my friends music store last night, looking at a Rickenbacker. He brought me over to it because he wanted to show me how bad the finish was on it. And man, it was pretty bad. I asked him why he didn’t send it back to them. He said basically he couldn’t. Rickenbackers are about 6 months out when you order one and it sounded like they won’t take something back based on a cosmetic issue. But it was fucked in my eyes. The edges of the body had This horrible orange peel on the body. It was every single edge on the body, not just one spot. And on the neck, where the binding is, you could see where the black lacquer bled under the masking tape and bled onto the white binding. And that guitar was over two grand if I remember right. Anyways, your vid popped up on my feed and it’s cool to see your excitement about your new guitar. It looks and sounds awesome. When I buy a guitar, it’s beauty and workmanship kinda inspires me to keep playing at times. Actually, John Hall, CEO of Rickenbacker in 1964, gave John the guitar just prior to the Beatles second Ed Sullivan Show which was televised from Miami Beach, thus the label "325 C64 Miami" which has followed the guitar from then. John first played it publicly on that show and then throughout much of his career up until he and George bought Epiphone Casino guitars like Paul's. I often wondered if the three pickups in this model could be used to emulate a Stratocaster (though based on this demonstration, it's sonically more like an Epiphone Riviera).
The big mistake I made when I had a Rose-Morris 1996 (the 325 with a fireglow finish and an F-hole) was to put a set of "regular slinky" (10's) strings on it. The extra-low tension of those strings on such a short scale-length made for all kinds of fretboard buzzing and tuning problems. These guitars need a string set with a wound G string, like 12's. Supposedly, John Lennon used flatwounds, too. I'm sorry I traded it away, but I loved the Jazzmaster I traded it for. Anyway, I play a Rickenbacker model 620, now.

I think you will be able to find one secondhand and for a reasonable price because I think they're a niche purchase and they get sold to pay for something else. Sweet guitar. Great video
Hey man! Are you plannin to do any more vids with your beautiful guitars?
Might be $1400 now but NO WAY they were that much in 1964. My guess would be no more than $500.
actually, the beatles didn't use any reverb "especially earlier". reverb didn't come along until long after they were done with their rickenbacker guitars.
I bought a Rickenbacker 325 v59 from 1990
Hello me again! When you ordered the guitar, did it come with the sticker on the pick guard?
I never realized that John picked up and placed down his fingers over and over on the chords!!
Just let me hear some of that rock snd roll music!!!
The riff is rock and roll music
Hey, I was wondering where you got this amazing Rickenbacker. As I’ve been looking for what feels like forever. I just can’t afford $3,000. What do you suggest? To find a deal
I think you will be able to find one secondhand and for a reasonable price because I think they're a niche purchase and they get sold to pay for something else. They might hold their value but then there's a more limited market.
Mine's a case in point. I ordered it and was told 9 months and I started saving. Three weeks later the shop rang to say they had one as another customer had pulled out.
They ARE GREAT guitars.....I want to be buried with mine! Thanks young man!
Hello can you give me the reference of the strings that are the best for this guitar? thanks in advance
Rickenbacker 325 c64 i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really want a 325 but I dont know how it would be on me being that its a short scale and im 6'6' 220
You should do a video with a guitar playing please please me
I have the same guitar I live in Essex Md I like you videos
the riff was Rock n roll music
Thanks for your video. Learned a lot. Beatles forever!
please talk about the guitar case more ..thanks...lol
I have a Rickenbacker 360 (absolutely love it) and play most songs with it. Some people think you can only play certain songs on a Ric but I find almost all the songs sound great. You just modify your style a little or use the Neck pickup for mellow stuff. I'm curious of how much the 325 weighs? John
john wouldve used a ns2 fror sure..... noisy buggers the old rickys
Anyone know of a good imitation Ric 325? Or a lightweight kit?
Nice guitar. Do a tour of ur room
Where did u get ur 325 from? And how much for?
What strings do you use?
Does this size of guitar make it easier to play. I know Lennon had small hands.
The riff is from "Rock and Roll Music"
