Why does the U.S. Army need to Rename its new Rifle?

The US Army is changing the name of its new rifle after accidentally taking a name from another gun. The Army's M5 from Sig Sauer will be called the M7 because Colt already makes a rifle called the M5.

I think this gun is gorgeous, it's a different ak ar mutant! First rifle I ever owned is a SIG Sauer 5.56 with the fish gill grip 😍
