Text is kind of hard to see, but you can view it whenever one of the character’s health bars is depleted.
Pre round movement has returned.... It has everything I could ever hope for gameplay wise. This is truly Melty Blood.

As soon as I saw them moving before the round started I was immediately sold. See me in Melty Blood bros.
Aesthetically, French Bread went back to Melty Blood's roots. This is a strong call back to OG Melty Blood's UI design, but updating it a bit to match modern standards and it's quite a beauty. Melty Blood turns "simplicity" into "elegance", that's the best way to say it.

I didn't really have doubts about them watering it down, but this gameplay really goes to show that they're making it by the book. Moving before the round begins, the blockstrings and the combos are just pure good old Melty with one hell of a pretty makeover. Those sprites look so crisp and beautifully animated that they put to shame the majority of 2.5D fighting games out there.
You cant really compare the other 2.5D games to this when this is basically the only game to have come out still using pixel sprites in the last few years. Still, this is probably the most smoothest I've seen this art style getting.

@@asmartphoneinquarantine3269 bbtag doesn't count. The only new sprites they made for that game were the RWBY sprites, which looks good but I feel like this is leagues above. All the other sprites already existed from another IP which they just took and put into one game.
Thank god. Enough with the simplification of mechanics that beginners don't use anyway. Game looks great. Lumina gonna be a day 1 for me.

Nanaya's 22x teleport consists of forward teleport, up teleport (charging the move gets a sideswitch up teleport), and fakeout.
Nanaya's 214x consists of the one Tohno just did in this video, his slash that is jump cancellable, and a command grab (but it's not like Tohno's command grab [22C] that you can combo on the corner).

the intro looks so much cleaner than strive, I hate that fucking eagle now
@@lenneth1188 The eagle isn't the intro, The vs screen and the round start sequence are the same, The game just put the eagle there because 3D and a lot of elements (At least did like 10 seconds if you are in pc or ps4 pro/ps5, in base ps4 takes like 15 seconds)

Having different round introductions per round is a really nice touch, as is the unique dialogue between characters (of which we've only seen the tip of the iceberg of).
A well polished game made with a hell of a lot of love and faithfulness to its roots. Can't wait to play! 😁
All that's missing are the Round 4-9 calls and the Final Round call. I was expecting a starting quote and a battle continuing quote like in SVC Chaos.

@@grantgarbour forsho, I feel you can't compare Tsuki with Fate because of things like this. All of Tsuki's routs are Dark, those moments when the Nanaya blood kicks in and Tohno goes from being a normal innocent High-schooler to a Cold-blooded assassin are my favorites in the series

I am so ready for Type Lumina. The visuals, music and changes they made to the system as well as rollback netcode got me hype. Everyone I roll with is coming back to MB finally.
The fact that you start with a full Moon Gauge is out of this world nuts. Opens up such an aggressive number of options from the word "Go."
I assumed it would refill to max between rounds, not be a resource to be managed the whole game. I like it, gonna be interesting to see if we can know what reliably fills it. People filling it mid combo and using it for extensions is gonna be mad hype
A retro style game feeling as if it came straight out of a world before Street Fighter V! Glorious.
It's so clean. I'm so happy for this. Pre-round movements reminded me that this is indeed Melty Blood. French Bread gave so much soul to this game and I love it.

OMG, vs screen is really cool, the music dramatic, the stetic, the picture of the characters clean, the fast moves and stages, are so georgeous, all very fluid, i like this, i can´t wait for to play this game

Melty Blood Actress Again is one of the funniest fighting games I've ever tried, from what I see MB Type Lumina looks fun too.
Oh I'm a FGO fan alright, and I've been dying for any Tsukihime content to be released over another Fate entry for years, so you can *BET* I am hyped for this new and improved Melty Blood! 😁

I'd choose to wait for a new Unlimited Codes for now and instead focus on what we can do with the Tsukihime setting. (or really ANY OTHER Type-Moon setting, imagine a game taking place during _Notes._ )

While Melty Blood design is based on a visual novel so the design is more like a classic romance mystery anime

That looked like it was a trait of his Moon Drive. I think Ciel jump cancelled her air DP mid-combo during her Moon Drive too.

It was a moon skill DP, not a normal DP, maybe moon skill DPs have no invul in exchange for being cancellable on block.
He also has his normal dp still too lmao, and its also invincible and EX cancellable at 1:05
Moon skill versions are not invincible. They look to be specifically combo extension tools. Regular versions looks to require meter resources to follow up in any way.

Uni was the first game I played by them and I love that game. So I am super excited for this.
The VS screen looks nice and I appreciate that it's not so visually cluttered, but I do miss the eye glow of the original (at least AACC).

characters get an extra bar when losing a round. its lost when they use last arc or enter blood heat

2:58 is actually just moon skill, they have armor
@@fugax_vulpes1797 0:31 is an Arc Drive. A Last Arc is performed by perfect-parrying during Blood Heat state, and it's the ultimate super.
I'm glad to see the neutral movement round start is back. I'm now also wondering how the stage size will affect the gameplay, because that is a lot of space between corners. It seems neutral route options will have a little bit more value over corner carries and corner pressure/combos, which is fine since neutral play was always one of Melty's strong suits. All in all, this is shaping up to be something special.
