I have the Hercules starlight, great little controller. Got it mainly for it's compact size so I could use it while traveling in combination with a Bluetooth speaker (use it wired with the controller).
The lights are very useful for beginner DJ's as they light up to the beats and are synchronised to the music you are playing. They have different modes and one of them helps in a better understanding of the 4-beat bar and counts the beats in a song with the flashing lights. The LEDs light up red with the first beat of the main track and blue with the following beats in one of the modes. The lights can also be turned off if one doesn't want them.
Thank you for this video, I have been on the fence as to if I should get the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 500 or the Pioneer DDJ FLX4. But I want to use it with iPad for now, but have the ability of using my laptop down the line. The problem with the FLX4 is it says it will be able to control ReKordbox on iOS in March, i can’t find anywhere saying it can conteol edjing mix or djay on iPad currently… also I like the extra features on the Inpulse 500 since I am new to DJing, the way it teaches you to beatmatch etc, I was leaning towards the Hercules, this video helped me solidity my de idiom cuz you said it works with iPad, so I ordered it, it should be here Thursday. @@valeriougolini6497 Yeah. it works perfectly with DJay Pro. but as much as I wanted to use the ipad first, soon as I bought the Hercules, I ended up buying a Laptop dedicated to djing/production, I have a whole set up, laptop, Inpulse 500, Audio Technica ATLP120 Direct Drive Turntable and my Akai MPC One. I have everything hooked up together. the Audio Technica has build in amp, so I can connect it to the Aux in. and I'm using DJuced on laptop.
