*I love it! **Fastly.Cool** and Warming environment perfectly controlled. Being able to track history temp and humidity takes all the guesswork out of the equation. Had it for two weeks now and it has been flawless!*
Love the review! Always have been a fan of nest and google home products. The features of this camera is a very nice middle ground for everyone to get into home security!
I purchased 2 of these units probably 6+ months ago now, and they are really good units. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxcr5WULFU6yC9UUKc_cdNJT9jGa6VxO1l They are great for 3d printer plastic dry boxes, freezers, vehicles, gun safes, and more. The unit in the picture was pulled from my deep freezer and moved into my truck center console (monitoring humidity for water leak). It took a few hours to thaw and normalize temp and humidity reading going from those extremes, as expected, but it handled it well and is still running great.
So do the cameras come with the wire if you want to use the wire vice the battery? Also, you said the recommendation is roughly 6 1/2 feet high but what if you’re in a two story home, will the cameras work well at 14 ft?
It comes with a charger, I'm not sure if it can be used to hardwire the camera or not. During the setup process it ask how it will be powered. I may have to try that out for the review.
That I sadly do not know. I only get about 2-3 months out of a full charge, but its on my back porch and see a lot of action when the dog is let outside...many times a day. So I think its just the location of my camera that drains the battery faster than normal.
Hi, one question: I have two cameras and one does not work, the light turns white and the instructions say that when it turns blue it is ready….the message “something wrong” what can I do???? Help please
Use, it charges with the included USB cable. It's a special cable, not ctype or anything. You get alerts for free, the clips sent to your phone and up to 3 hours of playback for free. If you want to view anything older than 3 hours, you have to pay monthly.
Try to reset the device and then connect to it with your mobile data turned off. Just have on your wifi, open the app and try to add it again after the reset.
Sadly no, I am not sure why it didnt work on the Chromecast with Google TV. I just tried to again and got the same error. "Sorry this doesn't support streaming from the Back Yard Camera". Crazy!
@@amazzinmetscards7161 hahahaha my bad. I thought it said "how long to charge the battery" hahaha. It last 4-6 months depending on the amount of traffic in the area. I've had mine on the back porch and God about 4 months out of it.
Purchased mine , just waiting for them to ship . Question. I was under the impression you could not view live feed unless it was hardwired in . From your video, it looks like that's not the case. Do you have anymore info on this ?
Yes, you can view the live feed even on battery. Just open the app and select it. The only real difference in the battery vs hardwired is with hardwired you don't have to take it down and charge it every few months. 😁
@@BigCVlogs thank you so much , that helps alot, I use alot of live feed right now with my other nest cams , but for the location where the new ones will go it will be more for notification purposes.
great video! love how clear the picture quality is. alot easier set up than I thought. I'm concerned with setting it up since I'll be doing wired and hoping the extended cord will be long enough. but great video! i was going to ask if you had the iq outdoor camera and if it is any better?
But Why does the charging table exit the camera the wrong way? Like the cable goes in front of the camera instead og going behind it. What a stupid idea
😂😂😂 I've heard Google will replace stolen cameras for free. They have a "lock" but it was sold out, it is made by Wasserstein. I have a connect at Wasserstein that sent me other products, waiting on the lock now.
I only have my Nest Thermostat e on the Nest app. I thinking the Nest App will be removed soon in favor of the Google Home app. Kinda like Google did with the old Google WiFi app from the first set of Google WiFi devices.
Man, these new Nest cameras suck azz so bad. Can't believe Google went backwards as the older Nest cams are so much better. Now if you use these new Nest cams with a constant power source, then they are pretty decent, but when they are on battery, they are absolutely worthless.
Have had their cameras for 3 years, they suck been on the phone over 100 hours with customer support, wish I never bought them, one problem after another
I bought one of the locks for mine, but I have wondered why Google doesn't tie it to the first account its setup on that way people can steal them and reset them. Like make me delete it from my account before it can be added to someone elses.
These things are complete trash battery runs dead quick, don't always shows your notifications , and quality is piss poor I'll stick to my never fail ring cameras sorry not sorry haha

Very good video, thank you so much for showing how far the angles on the camera can be, it's really hard to find that info online

Nice video. Thanks from the UK
Can you test how well it can see licence plates please. Thanks for the review!
Great idea, I'll add that to my list of things to test.
How to set up multiple cams
Also how do you change the battery in the Nest motion flood light camera?
I think it is hardwired. So I don't think you have to take it down and charge it.
the only fucking video that shows the actual camera
Great video!!
If you tell google to “sync my devices” on the google home app you’ll be able to see video on your google tv.
Excellent video.

They sell a different 10 foot or so cable for hardwiring it though, so my guess would be this cable wont.
excellent review! What autonomy does the battery have? Thanks!

I have the same issues
Does Nest have a wire setup instead of battery?
Would have been nice to show how to connect the anti-theft cable.
Can someone tell me does it charge by USB & also is there a charge/subscription or does it operate from broard band free

Hi That's great I live in New Zealand and have 220/240volts so the USB would be to charge on my Laptop
how to stop it from going in idle mode with battery
How long does it take to charge this thing and how do I know when its done been charging it for like 5 hrs now and slowly blinking blue
Go to the camera in the app and click settings in the top right, then pick battery to see the %. It normally takes 3-4 hours.
How can you add the timestamp embedded into the clips after you download them to your cellphone ?
I don't understand why i cant use my nest cam battery on my nest app.
Yeah, I think they will be discontinuing that app soon.
couldn’t connect the 2nd camera.. any advice ?
Try to reset the device and then connect to it with your mobile data turned off. Just have on your wifi, open the app and try to add it again after the reset.
What is Google TV
Their version of "Apple TV" at half the price with all the same features lol. I love it. Ive used it since 2012 when it was called "Android TV".
Did you figure out the Google TV issue?
Sadly no, I am not sure why it didnt work on the Chromecast with Google TV. I just tried to again and got the same error. "Sorry this doesn't support streaming from the Back Yard Camera". Crazy!
Hey sir, about how long does the battery last?
About 4-5 hours.
