Why is Cotton Candy Banned Now ?

During our childhood we used to take a common and famous sweet called #cottoncandy #flosscandy #candyflosscuteness
Recently there is an uproar because of the #coloring #agent used.
The pink #color is because of #Rhodamine
In #karnataka a #survey showed presence of #rhodamine #sunsetyellow #carmoisine #tartrazine & other #dyes in the manufacture of #gobhimanchurian & #cottoncandy
Other states like #Kerala #Delhi #Goa #Pudducherry have also banned it
Rhodamine B is harmful in #children especially if they take this for a long period of time.
It can cause #liver #diseases #liverdamage as well as is #carcinogenic & lead to #cancer

A lot needs to be done about food safety in India. With crores of restaurants all over India it may need huge manpower as well as machines. Public awareness is vital. Prevention is the key.

Not only vegetables, fruits, sweets, oils but even meat and chicken and fish and eggs we eat are contaminated with chemicals and hormones. The rampant diseases including cancer is a direct result of that. We become what we eat. 😟

It is a colouring agent called Tartrazine which is definitely not fully safe. It is well known to cause allergic reactions like sore throat and precipitation of asthma. In the quantities which is used in Wazwan and Kashmiri pickles, it is definitely harmful.
