Navin, maybe he meant just the ease of drivability and comfort. Purely from a comfort and ease standpoint jetta is a simpler car than 3 and maybe that’s what he meant. If I set aside the handling requirements involved in sporty driving, I have also felt the jetta to be more comfy and easy to drive than my f30. So it’s all about the kind of driving one does. So jetta is a reasonably good sedan.

27:32 Haha, even I wouldn't recommend it to a normal buyer. But I seriously love the 7 series of that generation. I've been lucky to get a E66 745Li with all the options in mint condition 5 years back. In this period of time drove more than 100K kms. It's still going strong with regular services and a major service. Maintaining her in a good workshop so my experience is smooth. It's such a joy to drive and be driven in. But I seem to be one of the only one who managed to find a good one for sale, as I don't see any good condition ones for sale anymore. When things go wrong the bill is pretty huge but there are just a couple of problems I ran into. The common problems were : 1. Valve seals needed to be replaced after around 100,000kms. 2. Got a new ac compressor at around the same time 3. New radiator reservoir (old one cracked) 4.Sh**ty build quality of the grill, no wonder why in newer BMW's the grill doesn't open along with the hood! My clips got loose and it was hanging, did a bad job of securing it and lost the grill somewhere. Had to drive with an open nose back home 😂 later got a new one and now I make sure the mechanics don't lift it by the grill 😅 Plus points : 1. Interior build quality is top notch even after 15+ years 2. Incredibly comfortable with reclining rear seats, heated and cooled. Great amount of room due to it being a long wheelbase variant. Even got a fridge at the back. 3.Soft close doors 4.A serious rocket, it definitely feels like it has more than the claimed 328 HP. BMWs definitely accelerate harder than the others. 5.Literally no vibrations whatsoever in any speed. Considering the money spent on maintaince, the amount of fun this car delivers is worth it to me (personal opinion alert!), it's something that I just can't feel in a Mercedes S class (Which I also love btw) BMWs really know how to make all those horses come to life. Because of how hard it is to maintain, it's also super rare on the roads which is a quirky plus point in my books 😂

1-series (RWD) are really brilliant cars. The only gripe I have against BMW is they didn't provide any of the nicer engines in it in India. Have driven a first generation 123d extensively abroad. A brilliant diesel car, the first production diesel to make 100PS/L and superbly fuel efficient at the same time.
W204 has a 6speed manual in diesel which was the base diesel there is halogen headlights base looking alloys and the upper number plate space has black plastic stripe instead of chrome stripe ..There is 1 silver colour of this car in muvattupuzha koothattukulam side i even saw it couple of times
Dream model..just debadge the whole thing 🤩 Guess it was there for only a short time after launch. Pretty rare to get the manual diesel, manual petrol is a little more available in market.
Nice & comprehensive. Let me add mine! A Jeep Compass MJD ?. Comes with all round disc, Koni FSD dampers, rear multilink, very well built and car like dynamics. Out of state cars (2017-18) comes in north of 13L. Extend a bit get nice 4x4s too. Hyundai Elantra & Tucson can also be considered as a wild card entry? ++ Thoughts on Freelander 2??
Loved the ending with you guys finally zeroing in on the Innova (“Athalle luxury?”) The second gen Innova is my favourite, barring just one gripe. After 4th gear, there is no 5th. It feels more or less like a 4.5th gear :p

Should I go with the decision of buying the E class considering it would be re-registered every five years in the future?? Instead of an Octavia, why not a 2016 Elantra? Petrol and diesels with torque converter automatic. Good interiors and handsome exteriors. Also great highway cruisers without fear of a dsg failure.

Because if u say it is I am also getting an E280 V6 from 2007 which Im really interested in,its been my childhood dream car in black ever since I as a small child went to the showroom for our Baby merc's service..
The only reason I was avoiding it was because I was afraid what would happen if the government bans these cars,both the C and this E are in prestine condition with about only 80k on the odo and a splendid bodyline,doctor driven since.
Should I go with the decision of buying the E class considering it would be re-registered every five years in the future??

Instead of an Octavia, why not a 2016 Elantra? Petrol and diesels with torque converter automatic. Good interiors and handsome exteriors. Also great highway cruisers without fear of a dsg failure.
