Floor is the only of the three singers that sings the chorus in an upper octave. Tarja sings it the same octave as Marco. And in the 2021 live versions Floor is belting it that high, and it's pretty amazing!
It was, i agree. I do think that what some songs sound now that had lot of Marco's vocals. Troy does good job without the doubt. But I've heard Jukka, the new bassist sing backing vocals in Winter sun songs. So he could help Floor and Troy just little bit.

The chorus Marco sang 3 times, it's now very weird to listen when Floor has to do that "Dream of me" lyric right after her own(originally) part. And in 1st chorus that actually sits perfectly to her wince she has like a millisecond brake there. But 2nd time the chorus comes too fast so that Floor can't sing that fully like it was meant to be sang. And if i remember correctly she doesn't even do that Marco's old part si'ce she sings her lungs out at that point.
Yes, and the visuals with this song during the virtual concert were also eye popping. The massive sea and waterfalls outside the Islanders Arms turned to red hot lava during this song.
Planet Hell (album version with Tarja) was the very first Nightwish song I ever heard, back in 2005. It hooked me for life! I highly recommend listing to the version with Tarja from their End of an Era DVD, it's incredible!
It was surprising that Nightwish put 'Planet Hell' back on the setlist as Marko had such a big part on it. Floor singing it on her own however sounds really great too.
Check out “over the hills and far always” the version wich was released not to long ago, it’s a great song but it also has all kinds great foto’s from the band!

I worked as a gig handler in the 90s for bands like Marilyn Manson and Rammstein...its nice for fans to see the "rockstars" as regular people, doing regular things. I don't even know if Nightwish toured the states that early on, but I do know that the band had, in "the industry" a reputation for being easy to work with. Cannot say the same for the dear animals I was corralling at the time!

You can tell how new she was because in this specific recording she accidentally repeats a verse (and therefore misses one) -- honestly, truly, the only time I've ever heard the immaculate Floor make a mistake. And let's be real, even with a mistake, it was a damn epic performance, especially for someone just learning the songs

This song was a huge hit for Nightwish with Tarja. Check out their version from End of an Era. Just as good if not better. Still in the set list even without Marco. They performed it during their virtual concert back in May.
Except for the part where Tarja comes in singing "A deed world..." at the beginning (The End of an Era version). Automatically disqualifying for me. Tarja speaks good English, but her accent is pretty thick. But there is no way she doesn't know how to pronounce "dead". So singing it like "deed" borders on sabotage and made me starting to dislike her. And imagine a band environment that is so toxic that nobody was able to correct Tarja about the pronounciation.
There's a lot more to explore from Nightwish. great band, great stuff and they never disappoint. They will surprise you with every song. BUT .... Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instruments are used and by which standards. Btw. This creative original clip is 13 min. long and I think you won’t regret it !! The best performance of this IMO is from the End of Era concert in Helsinki. The build up and Jukka's drumming is quite something. Please do not skip the live performances. For me the document kind of videos from Nightwish are always a let down. But that is probably just me. But thank you for your NW reactions! They are a delight.
