Actual Description: In this video, I show how to silence the "start heating" "stop heating - thanks for using, I wish you a safe journey" voice ! FINALLY !! So many people have asked me about this, and I figured it out. - Авто та транспорт
I had no idea that being subscribed and not watching the videos was bad.
I'm going thru all my subscriptions now even if it takes me all day!
Yeah... I should make a video about this... but I'm not really one of those channels.
The reason is this. UA-cam first informs your subscribers with notifications on, and then suggests your videos to some of your subscribers ... If a high percentage of your subscribers watch the video, they suggest it to other people, the general public.
However.... If those who chose to subscribe don't watch your video, UA-cam thinks "the content can't be good and isn't worth suggesting to others"
After years of watching YT videos and just now learning about this! 🤯
@@StephenGHayward Yeah... I follow lots of big channels that now do pretty poorly now. When you make a video that isn't the "norm" for your channel, and people subscribe, that means they won't watch most of your content.... UA-cam uses that information to decide how much, and to whom they show your videos.
This is part of the reason why some growing channels seem to grow really quickly, and do really well, but then all of a sudden they have hundreds of thousands of Subscribers, but very few views.
I need to unsubscribe from over 100 channels that I like, but don't watch all the time now.@@StephenGHayward
Another trick that UA-cam pulls on you creators. After a certain amount of time they stop sending me notifications that you made videos or put it at the end of my timeline. So if someone subscribed and stopped watching it's probably because UA-cam stopped sending the information and moved the bottom of there time line. Thank you for all the great information I just subscribed today and I will type your name in every two days or look at my subscribed list and make sure I view all your videos
Yes... I have noticed this. UA-cam is like a junkie.... all they care about is views... I watch lots of different channels, but I don't always feel like it now...I save certain videos for certain times of the day.
If you try to do that, YT will suggest it a few times, and if you don't' watch it right away, they are like "well, we suggested it 3 times and you didn't watch it, so I guess you must hate this channel now.... Here are some other irrelevant videos we hope you'll watch."
Thanks for your support !
Come on Joel we all know you make these videos because you’re a mad scientist

How sweet, eh !
I appreciate you getting right to the point! I get so frustrated with youtubers that want to turn a simple informational video like this into some monologue that drags on and on. I clicked on a video to get the information the video title purports to contain. I generally give a video about 30 seconds to get into the meat and potatoes of what it is supposed to be about and then if the creator of the video drones on about something unrelated to the title, I am done watching that video and off to something different. Kudos to you! Thanks for getting right to the point!
Woah, I have literally NEVER heard anyone say that subscribing and not watching any videos is bad. I typically only subscribe to ones I really want to watch, because I don't like the extra notifications ha ha.
I would have torn apart this controller and removed whatever speaker IF I had one of these and you couldn't turn it off 😂
Haha... I almost tore it apart and desoldered the speaker... I'm glad I figured this out first.
Yes... if your subscribers dont' watch your videos, YT is less likely to recommend them to others. If you have 6K subscribers, and 5000 of them watch yoru video, YT sees that as an indication that it is a good video and should be shared with others...
@@loweredexpectations4927 Ohh very interesting. Weird you never hear anyone talk about this?
On the older blue controller, it will keep running, but when we hook it back up, we get the E-01 code, electric something or another, but thankfully it don't talk, never did, thank goodness, got a lot of talkers in the house already :)
Haha.... Funny that you know this too !
I am surprised you are coming right out and revealing UA-cam secrets. Good on you for just saying it, I will be interested to see how it affects your channel. 🍻

My controller is different than the one that you showed on the videos. My controller only has three buttons on it, but I do know how to turn the voice off on. Haha... You want it to talk just so you can tell it to shut up ?
I was so hopeful when I found this video that it might help us with our annoying loud diesel heater voice but alas, ours looks different and I still can't figure it out. Thanks anyway :)
Oh my god I love you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think you need to design and market your own diesel heater. I just bought an Hcalory but after watching all of you vids then I'd buy one of your designs.
A possible idea to ponder is creating some sort of heat exchanger that someone could tie into their vehicles heater lines so that the engine coolant could be preheated before actually starting the vehicle.
I really enjoy tinkering, but I don't' know that I have the stomach for marketing anything, haha. They do make diesel heaters that are specifically for heating coolant... I think they may actually be the originals.
A few chinese companies now sell ones that heat air and water.
Awesome as usual, like button smashed!😆
Thanks ! Much appreciated.

I'm glad that there are people out there who appreciate these things. I feel the same way. I feel like everyone (every channel) is trying to be someone or something else, rather than just being themselves.
I have a really hard time talking in front of people and in front of a camera, so I do have an on camera personality that kicks in, somewhat, but I just do me and hope people like it.

@@StephenGHayward Haha... Yeah, I get what you are saying.
Thank you. It's the black pad green display. On/off and arrows for temp control, time and mode change from manual settings 1-10 or temperature. That's it, the bare bones. Would getting a different set of electronics be worth it ? Or, can I manually adjust air fuel mix ? Love this heater and will need it this spring in WY 😳 I know your busy, however you are very intimate with the inner workings of these lil jewels. Thanks again for all you do
Sam
Is the a continuation of a previous conversation ?
If you are under 3000 feet you should not need mix adjustment. Most controllers will have a Alpine mode that allows you to set for over 3000 feet. If you do not have this feature and are over 3000, you may get soot . /fouling over time.
The basic controls are fine unless you want to tinker with things, or you need to adjust fuel ratio for higher elevation. 👍
I'm thankful that my controller doesn't talk. On a side note, I have found that 1234 is the password to get to the advanced settings on my heater. Now to figure out what it all means, as the settings are completely different from anything that i've seen you and other UA-camrs discussing in all the videos i've watched. For now i think i'll leave the advanced settings alone as the heater seems to be working well.
Oh, you got in ? You had left a comment a few days ago ?
Are you able to change things in the menu, or just look at stuff? There are so many different ones ! It would be fantastic if they would have some sort of standard to go by, but I feel like it's only going to get worse and not better.
@@loweredexpectations4927 Yes, I commented on one of your videos a few days ago. After getting in, I just looked at some stuff as it's very different than any other advanced settings that I've seen in any other youtube videos. i'm reluctant to change anything until I can find some info on what the "code" means. When i get into the advnced settings the display shows P1H2 & the P is blinking. You can scroll through each letter/number using the confirm OK key. And each letter/number can be changed by using the + or - keys. There are 2 to 4 options for each.
I'm going to do some more searching before I make any changes.

Hello, can you tell us what type or brand of gasket paper we can use to make our own gaskets for the heaters?, thank you for your work
Fel-pro is kinda the go to brand. If you are making the one around the burn chamber you may want high temp stuff, and the other one can be just about anything.

Hello guy's,
I have the same heater with this 4 button controller on the right side and it is supposed to give 8kw but I have the impression that it only gives 5.
Do you know if we can adjust the power? and how to do it.
Thank you for your great videos.
I have three of these heaters and one of them has a slightly different display module. It works OK but does not have any of the menus indicated in the manual. It also speaks Chinese all the time. I may try your suggestions for this 4-knob version to get rid of the noise. The more important issue is that I am unable to connect the remote to it. It behaves differently from the example displays presented in the manual and I have tried probably every key press sequence there is. Any suggestions?
Thank for the constant flow of information you are digging out. The original manuals are crap.
Yes, most of the manuals are crap !
I'm not sure about how to pair the remote. Try pushing the up key for more than 3 seconds ? Try it with the power off, if that doesn't work try again with the power on.
I actually can't remember how to pair my original heater and have the Bureck CD Thermostat that I want to try to pair with it... Still trying.
Well I was ready to give you a great big hug for this video, but when I went to follow your advice for my Max Peeing Rods heater, I was bitterly disappointed because my controller isn't cooperative like yours is. My controller looks different (4 buttons along the lower edge - power, up arrow, ok button, down arrow, and gear). I tried all sorts of key combos, starting with your suggestions, while the unit was running and while it was turned off, with no luck. I found the instructions in the manual on how to change the language, with no off option. Could this be because I have the 5 kw while yours is the 8? Or maybe mine is the uncooperative US version while you're fortunate to own the cooperative Canadian version?
They can't just settle on a single unit ! Geeez !! So annoying.
Haha... the polite Canadian that shuts up when told. I would assume that the mute function would be in the same place as the language function / area... Were you able to change the language ?
@loweredexpectations4927 Yes sir! I can cycle between Chinese, Russian, and English, but no off. Thankfully the voice is not loud, so it's not too annoying.
@@StephenGHayward I was going to pop mine apart and desolder the speaker. I did that with a meat thermometer once as I was using it for curing powder coating... and it would beep nonstop.
@@loweredexpectations4927 I'll let you know if I get around to attempting that. 😁
Hey my whacky scientific friend. I have what many here I'm sure would call a basic question. I am a decent mechanic and understand altitude and fuel mixture. I have a basic Vevor' 5 Kil heater with the green key pad and fob that I've been using 500 ish ft above sea level. I the spring I will be up around 6,300 ' above sea level. How will this affect heater ( I'm sure it will) and with this basic model can it be adjusted ? Or, should I not worry and just send it ? Be nice my fellow heater nerds, asking for a friend 😆
Hmmmm. 6300 feet is 100% going to have an effect on your heater... At the very least it will run hot and with a lot of CO... I'm at 3500 ft and my heater won't clog up, but it runs hotter than normal.
When you say "green keypad" is it the blue green with green digits ? If so, you push and hold noth top buttons at the same time... the wrench or gear on the left and the ok on the right.... a blue mountain will appear.
You may get away with running it in "normal" mode for a short while, but I pretty much guarantee that you will have soot issues if you do for very long.
Not at all a silly question.
has anyone scavanged the heat from the exhaust and route that wast heat into the intake of the combustioin chamber? , will this help of hurt the burn and will it alow us to run it leaner for better consumption?
I have heard of a few people doing this ... and the answer to if it will help or hurt isn't a simple one.
When you scavenge the heat, this heat heat energy go back through the heater. This gives you the potential to burn less fuel, but unless you manually reduce fuel, your heater will (in most cases) continue to burn the same amount of fuel, and the area you are trying to heat will just get hotter.
If you are using a thermostat to turn the heater on and off, or if you have a controller that can lower the heat setting, you can potentially save on fuel this way.
However, to me, if you are able to scavenge heat from your exhaust, it doesn't make sense to pull it back into the heater.... this is just an extra step. If you can build a device that pulls heat from the exhaust, why not just put that heat into the air.
@@loweredexpectations4927 that makes sense .I ordered a 3 meter exhaust too try and scavenger the exhaust heat . I'm at 600 feet elevation and will also try the alpine mode setting . #1 check connection of glow plug
#2 check for adequate power from your battery or ac to DC power supply
#3 If you are mechanically inclined at all, you can carefully take out the glow plug and try to initiate a start up and see if it's firing up. If you do this, take caution that the wires going to the glow plug are very delicate and can break very easily. Typically requires a Special slotted socket to accommodate for the wires.
Hello. I don't think the ECU is very smart, so it is probably detecting either a short to the glow plug, or no connection. That would be my guess.
If it says this before trying to start, that means that it did a self check and was not able to detect the correct resistance of a component.

What bothers me, is the bad grammar of those voices. Why not have it inform you that the heating has started instead of commanding you to "start heating!", if that's what you just did. Also "have a nice journey!" as if it's trying to imply that you are supposed to go somewhere now. Isn't the point of your diesel heater to be more efficient when stationary compared to heat with your engine running on idle? Why would you then be going on a journey after turning it on? What if you didn't install your heater in your car? At least it gives us the option to turn it off. And before you ask, it's also gramatically/logically incorrect in German, can't speak for Russian though. My maxpeedingrods heater tells me to "start the work", everytime I turn it on, which is even worse xD. I'd have to look if it also has the option to silence it. Maybe you can even program it to play any sound file?
HAHA... It really bothers you eh, haha. I grew up in a french and english community, and my father couldn't speak english when he was 12... All this to say that I heard a LOT of misuse of the english language. It always amused me but never annoyed, haha.
