The speed is a issue you shouldn't be doing 100 mph plus on a highway and doing stunts is not much better you will lose your motorcycle license if your doing stupid crap like this

I'm 27 and I just bought an R1 for my first bike why start on a 600 when I know I'm going to want more power in no time haha all or nothing man I rode my buddy's r6 for a few weeks before buying an R1 though

600cc bikes are truly a competition for 1000cc bikes. It’s the rider not the bike, most of the time.

Yrs ago I worked in a bike shop, and there was a guy there that was the best rider I'd ever rode with. He did some part time racing. But he would race guys on a curvy road here on a ninja 250. Never lost. The 600s and 750s did better against him than the 1000s or a Busa. All that power does you no good if you can't use it, most of them were afraid of the power in the curves.

Big bikes are naturally slower than small bikes in corners. They need to be ridden differently with more v lines.
@no thats why older lighter 1000s with 180hp or more and weigh 430 pounds wet will dominate like a 600 in curves too if you have good throttle control. 04 to 06 r1s are a good option. His 2019 636 weighs as much as my 05 r1 :)
@no From the first time I rode my 2021 GSXR1000R it almost immediately felt more nimble than my 2019 zx6r. With aftermarket full exhaust it probably weighs barely 10lbs more if that. I think the bigger weight difference was more with older models.
@@screennamenottaken2 More than the weight being a factor, you get 160 pound riders here in these mountains and they become afraid of wheel spin in the curves. In some of these places it's not just trees, it's 50 foot drops and no guard rails. They were afraid of accelerating coming out of the curves and their tire breaking loose and their gone, so they hesitate, that little ninja you can twist it all day its just squatting and going lol. But this was a long time ago too, I'd say 04-05, was a big fad then for guys to buy the 1000s here. Seen first time riders buy em, not even get out of the parking lot and have to order a few grand in new plastic.

Years ago when I was much younger I had a 2007 CBR 1000rr that I would take to visit my mom a 3 states away a few times a month. 4 hours on the interstate each way by car. I used to do it in almost half the time on the bike. I would leave early in the morning when there is almost no traffic. I rarely dropped under 150mph. The only downside is I would have to stop for gas fairly often because it drank it fast at those speeds. This video made me miss that.
I love 600s because they make rides like this so dramatic!

Exactly why I put sprockets for acceleration vs top speed on my R1. Makes it actually feel like an upgrade over the R6 and not just going faster.

Damn! Another dude with that combo! I hear you, my 750 is light af and fun, then the R1 is a monster in the straights but feels heavier to turn. I think it’s how the steering is tuned because I can still carve up corners just doesn’t feel as easy as the 750

not only rider ability but with something like a 600 you can ride it wideeeee open just like some motocross riders ride smaller bikes and just tap them out. bikes were mad to be held in the top end thats where they thrive!

@@lebinchify I rode my Gixx 1k like this. 110 mph power wheelies onto the highway, 4th gear 160 pulls, 5th to 180, and 6th to the 189 limiter.

Whenever I road the canyons with my buddies on liter bikes. They were always shocked how fast my R6 was. The top end power of the R6 is amazing. Love that bike.

Agreed. I don't think I will ever have a 1000 as a main bike. Yes, they make better torque so you don't have to shift gears, but just drive an autobox car at that point. Besides, 600s rev higher

first bike 31 years and owned dirt only! lol i was gonna start cautious and get Ninja 650, 1k difference for 4 cylinder, more weight obvious speed, lol im a wrist control man and KNEW too respect! ill likely never see top end but maybe 1 day. lol if im not comfortable i know dont risk. im ready to try clip on bars, fairings etc and might feel more ready after get used to bike,,,,, 636 is the GOAL!

@@outdoors-gs9td oh yeah I almost got a 636 as my first bike but my father talked me out of it because I'm 5'6" lmfao he's the same height so I got a harley davidson iron 1200 sportster which I traded in for my current harley, 2020 softail standard. I've been riding dirt bikes all my life so I would have been fine on the 636 I bet. I put a saddlemen step up seat on my bike and now I tippy toe it and the bike sure does weigh more than a 600cc Supersport. It's like 650 pounds lol I think the 636 is the best 600 for the street honestly, best bang for your $$$

So I’m genuinely curious at what would happen God forbid the engine seize up that these speeds? Has anyone ever experienced this? Because on a dirtbike when the engine seizes up if you don’t pull the clutch in it locks the tire up and your back end will kick out. I’m thinking that possibly at these speeds your engine isn’t going to seize but more likely completely grenade and maybe any moving parts will be shot out the cases and not really “lock up” so to speak but I don’t know. If anyone does please feel free to comment 😂
Love it! In all actuality most folks with liter bikes get smoked by 300s on the track. Especially on twisties and public roads. They don’t know how to operate them machines.
