- The Linnell Residence by Charles Wong, 1965. Ladera Heights is home to some unique modernists homes in Los Angeles and this Charles Wong home is no exception. Charles Wong immigrated from China in the 1930's and graduated from USC's School of Architecture in 1951 and was one of a handful of Asian American Modernist Architects that contributed to the Modernists landscape of the 60's. The owners Adrian and Jason (One who works with the Los Angeles Conservancy) lovingly restored the home for 7 months once moved in after their long 5 month escrow. The story on how they discovered the full set of plans for the home is something to be heard alongside what their vision was for the home when they purchased it. The home couldn't have fallen into better hands as Adrian and Jason are the best examples of who should end up in these homes, someone who is going to Preserve, Restore and maintain the rich history that we have here in Los Angeles and it's Architecture.

stunning reno. So glad it was restored to its original glory.
Beautiful story and gorgeous home!
Living in Ladera Heights, Black Beverly Hills, domesticated paradise
I don’t understand how you guys don’t get a ton of views but I guess people are missing out
the thumbnail.
My thoughts exactly; I’m glad to to have to stumbled upon this channel.
Los Ángeles is full of architectural jewels, and with its wonderful weather all those people who own those architectural jewels cannot have it any better!
Really nice piece
It’s a sign of a good job when it looks mostly original and “unrestored” when you actually put a lot of work into it. I too wonder why more people don’t put the effort into restoring existing diamonds in the rough. It’s so much more interesting, and existing homes are usually on bigger lots in nicer established neighborhoods anyway. So much more appealing. Very nice.
Money is usually the reason … ask me how I know, lol 😐
OMG! Well done, gentlemen! What a flawless, intact restoration - both honoring and preserving while looking like it's five minutes into the future. I love this!
Beautiful save guys! So glad you invested your time and money into preserving the property for future generations! Cheers!
Amazing amazing story ladera heights beautiful city
Beautiful 😍😍😍😍.
Amazing video. And a wonderful story. Great job on the restoration guys.
Each profile you guys do is better than the one before. Keep up the good work!
Great job, neighbors! Your house is gorgeous now!!! Congratulations!!!
Thanks Cheryl!
Beautiful home! i love Mid Century modern design. it's my home crush!
Mid Century Modern is a term that is used very loosely … ‘65 is not mid century by any means, but the concepts of SoCal living had been already popular since, say, the late ‘20s when Schindler started experimenting with his own unique vision of relaxed organic designs
I went to the garden tour this Sunday and was absolutely wowed by this house and then of course I had to look up Charles Wong when I came home and that’s what led me to this UA-cam video. The house is spectacular! Great job, neighbors! Thank you so much for your love and care of this gorgeous house and garden.
Stunning Home! I appreciate the effort you guys put into brining the house back after seeing the potential and the bones of it.
Nice job! Great house.
I'm going to check out your channel now! New fan :)!!! Do not miss out - Promo'SM!!!

@@openspace.series I’m so glad I discovered your channel, keep up the good work! ❤❤
How many times can you say "young Asian American architect "? He was an American architect!!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Very nice home .
That fence door with the horizontal bars like a ladder doesn't look like a smart idea LOL
This is one of the most beautiful homes you've featured on this channel.
stunning!!!!!
I always think that a kitchen island is a waste of space, but I love the counter-depth fridge/freezer. It doesn't jut out of the cabinetry as is the case with 'big box' kitchens. I also like that the kitchen can be [partially] closed off from what appears to be the living room. What I don't like is the proximity of the overhead power lines.
Fantastic house. Way too cluttered, inside and out.
Stunning restoration.
Very nice!
Thanks!
I really would love to see the house. It's nice that both of you know the history, but I'm much more interested in seeing the house.
Good job!!!!
Music is too loud, but love everything else.

What is the book??? I can't find it anywhere on Google.

little cluttered for me.
