Love your work mate, keep the kayak vids comming. Your an inspiration for us kayak fishos
Thank you very much for the kind words, I assure you there is lots of good content coming very soon !! Stay Tuned
Nice, I love it when the bay is that calm.
Me too, could spend the whole day out there. I have noticed though that the bite goes a bit quiet on extremely calm days.
fishingmad, I was going to say the exact same thing! I figured this video kinda proved otherwise, but yeah, I find the best days for being on the water are generally not great for fishing.
Exactly, not so good for us that get sea sick easily. LOL.
I have been getting onto some great 50cm + flatties down my way as well on soft plastics, also missing a few that I thought were on as well.
That's great to hear Paul, I might have to venture down that way soon for a flick
What area??
Good stuff mate!
Thanks !!
nice one alan Keep them Coming 👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍
Will do, Thank you !!
is targetting these flatties like whiting where you find the sand amongst weed or is it best to look for different ground when specifically chasing them?
Best method is to drift and cover ground, flathead love sandy flats but you will also find them not to far from weedy zones aswell. Got some vids on the channel that show you how to target flathead. ua-cam.com/video/VEXa7FMDf_Q/v-deo.html
Nice 👍
Thanks Brian, wasn't the big pinkies we were looking for but still lots of fun.
Could you please show us the rig ur using, or the set up!
Sure can. The soft plastic setup was a 2-4k rod with 6 pound braid and 6 pound leader, the bait rod was a paternoster rig with small pieces of squid. Have a look at this video which explains a bit about the rigs and techniques ua-cam.com/video/VEXa7FMDf_Q/v-deo.html
Hey mate I'll be shortly getting a new rod for only plastics can u do a video on like beach fishing for flattys using plastics cause mostly I go beach fishing and I can't catch anything it would be great mate if u can make a video on that
Was hoping to get something like this done soon, just gotta find the right location for filming. Got a few trips planned in the coming months and will work on it. Thanks
Great video mate. How far out do you go?
Thank you, We only went a couple hundred meters out from shore. Often you don't have to go out far at all to find Flathead, squid and pinkies. We were probably 100 or so meters past the end of the pier. Thanks
Any good off safety beach in a yak for some flatties ?
If so how far out ?
Hi Ben, Yeah safety beach has plenty of them. The great thing about flathead is that you dont have to go far out. The biggest flathead I ever caught was in 2 meters deep on low tide. I generally get plenty of them a few hundred meters out which is 4 to 6 meters deep. I hope that helps. Let us know how you go.
