As grip on snow you will always have better results with tires R16 than R17, and of course the petrol engine is more powerful...Drivers training skills can also make a big diference...Dacia is owned by Renault, and they build this really good and cheap SUV in ROMANIA....The french made a really good cheap deal when they bought Dacia....and with all those fully qualified hardworking workers from Mioveni...Only respect for Romanians...Good Job

I have quite a lot of experience of all-terrain vehicles in very demanding conditions. I don't want to go too deep into commenting the driving itself (it was mostly good driving), but what really surprised me was how well both the Dusters worked in that terrain and conditions and with those tires. I bet the cars offer great value for the money. Good job, Dacia! Thank you also for this interesting video!

I live up north in Sweden. People around here like Nokia tyres, Subaru cars. The Duster is also more often seen here. My 75yo neighbour really likes his Duster👍 good vidja. Proper tyres is fundamental.

Nu înțeleg de ce au șoferii români mania de a călca accelerația când pierd aderența... Pentru aderență maximă, dezumflii roțile pentru o amprentă mai mare, și te păstrezi consistent..
@@ironmendez5136 nu e manie, probabil inca nu a descoperit ca se poate, dar totul se invata in timp ... ce as face eu as tine presiunea mai mare pe asfalt sa am un consum decent si cand incep sesiunea de offroad as reduce la un 2.0 si da, nu as ambala asa mult motorul ... soferul din benzinar avea putin mai multa experienta aici + cine zice prin comentarii ca-i moare motoru in dci daca nu o ambaleaza inutil sa-si lase permisu la prima sectie va rog :))

I use on my duster II 1.5 dci stock tires , exactly M+S from Continental and I don t have problem. For summer I have another set of tires.

I have tried many winter tires on 4x4 that I have owned.I current use on my 2003 Grand Vitara, Bridgestone Blizzak Dm-v2, (nordic tires).Best for packed snow and ice in extreme winter conditions. For fresh snow and mild temperatures are also good A/T tires(i have BF Goodrich Ko2).
For wet, deep snow, aggressive mud tires are the best (or chains)

Tires are very limiting factor for most terrains in the video. I suggest by smaller possible rims like 15 inch or 16 inch and then put thin & tall all terrain tires like wrangler AT`s. Duster is very very light car so she need thin 205/215 tires with sidewall of 70. Then you can deflate it before moderately hard off-roading. Actually because Duster is very light and the all terrain tires are with strong sidewalls you can deflate it a lot. Try 1.5 or 1.3 bars. This will make huge difference in mud, deep snow and also will improve drastically ride comfort and will prevent suspension from damage. Also 215/70/r16 on duster actually lift the car by 1 cm so there is more room for deflating. Just remember that the Duster is very light and that`s why it`s so capable with this weak engines and 4x4 system. But because it` so light it can loose traction easy with wrong tires and wrong tire pressure. She need thin tires in order to generate some ground pressure and you can always deflate for more footprint.

In winter I am using TRI-ACE SNOW WHITE II studded (recommended here in Finland) & am very happy with that budget tyre - keep in mind that I also use them on an AWD car. However you can get them without the studs as ordinary winter tyre.

The only problem of the dci Duster is the driver.. flooring the pedal on fresh snow and mud isn't helpful in terms of traction

Pune anvelope de iarna Nokian WR D4 (chiar daca nu sunt cu indicativul SUV, nu-i nevoie!) Si... cauta 215/70 R16. Cumpara si jante ca... e mai "safe" janta mai mica si talonul mai mare!
Both dusters have euro winter tires. Next year get something proper for mud/snow, not for snow ice wet and dry. Something chunky with boxy thread will do much better and try and use the torque of the engine better instead of mashing your foot in the carpet.

Sava Eskimo Suv 2 on my Duster 2 1.5 dci 4wd..pretty perfect for mud, snow and ice.Nokian tyres are great, it's not about your nokian tyres, it's up to the less weight of the petrol duster, so that's why it is more manoeuvrable for offroad

@@DusterCoolTravels un pont: incearca sa folosesti presiune mai scazuta in anvelope pe teren inzapezit ( se creaza efect de senila) am urcat la Harghita Bai cu un Ford C max tractiune fata anvelope noi debita 205/16 iar cand am ajuns in statiune m-au oprit niste baieti cu suv-uri sa ma intrebe cum am reusit sa urc fara lanturi pe acel drum si daca masina e 4*4 :) PS: am citit prin comentarii si am vazut ca mai sunt si altii carr iti recomanda reducerea presiunii in anvelope.

Hi from Italy. Thanks for the video. I use Alpin 5 Suv for my 1.5 diesel and its are perfect for the snow.
We raised the suspension by 5 cm at our Duster. We also protected the chassis of the vehicle with aluminum plates. We have BFGoodrich 215 / 65-17 tires. Vehicle capabilities in the field increased by 50%. After 3 months of testing, we did this on all of our Dusters.
What lift kit did you use and how is it? I’m mostly interested in the stiffness of the suspension, compared to the stock one. Thanks

Nokian Hakka 7 215-65-R16 with grips for winter - best choice for them. Жгут типы нещадно, конечно.
For it to be a proper comparison you should have same tyres and have both drivers at same experience and skill set.

BFG TA KO2, 215/70/R16. Înalță mașina cu 1,5 cm fără să afecteze geometria. Aderență și durabilitate excepționale.
Cum stau cu zgomotul la rulare pe asfalt?
@@flaviufarcas2471 zgomotul exista, adică incomparabil mai mare decât cu cauciucurile cu care vine mașina. Dar bfg-urile Ko2 sunt sensibil mai puțin zgomotoase decât ko1 sau alte cauciucuri AT mult mai profilate.
Altminteri, eu folosesc 215/65/r16.
Și astea, de noi, frecau puțin in plasticele de protectie ale aripii, la bracaj maxim. De aici, eu cred ca , fără modificări de suspensie, 215/70/r16 vor avea probleme pe viraje cu apărătorile interioare de aripa.
Și eu caut variante ieftine și simple sa-mi inalt mașina, dar nu cu sacrificarea manevrabilității (adică o raza de bracaj/întoarcere prea mare)

Renault hasn't launched the 4x4 version of the 1.3 liter Duster in India yet. I hope they do it by 2023, when I would be looking to replace my 2018 diesel model.

În trecut am folosit Sava.
Astăzi (în urma unor împrejurări) am 2x Sava Eskimo 2 SUV pe față și 2x Nokian WR SUV 3 pe spate.
Ce să zic .... înafară de preț și de alte figuri și fițe.... nu prea există diferență.
Menționez că Nokian este fabricat în Rusia și Sava în Germania. Profilul este aproape identic.
Deci îți recomand cu sinceritate Sava Eskimo.
Și încă ceva, pentru iarnă să-ți cumperi pe 16” (cu jante bineânțeles).

How reliable is the 1.3 turbo engine. Here In Colombia we just got the 2022 Duster with the 1.3 turbo engine 6 speed.
I have a 2020 2.0 gasoline 6 speed and I like the 2.0 but I need a new Duster. Should I buy the 1.3? Is it better than the 2.0?
The difference is the driver..... Diesel one has a very very bad driver. The cars will perform identical with good experienced drivers.

@Pedro Areias as you can see there is not about the torque as they are driving on icy roads.
That would have been right if they would have tested them on dry muddy roads
@Pedro Areias the petrol has a good turbo and it also has good torque from low rev. but the petrol has more power and in can send it better to all the wheels at once.
exactly like audi quattro on 3.0, 4.0 engines vs quattro on 1.6 2.0 engines... more power = better quattro.

Hello ,use bf goodrich all terrain no problem in mud,snow or ice .
Michelins are good (nearly all).
Continentals are quite terrible (I have them right now - even worse than older Barum I used before).
And diesel has a little bit heavier engine.
Anyway the roads look like Czech D1 highway.
I like yakohama geolander g073, daster4×4 1.5dci.
5 cars and 5x Nokian tires, for me its the best winter tires, i havent any problem with this tires (5 cars wheels R13-R18)
The problem is in the driver and especially in his art of adapting to that engine. Another aspect is the greater weight of the diesel engine.

I think the petrol engine simply has more power, so it's easier to get off the spot👍
The diesel should have the same if not mire torque so the difference is the driver imo.
in off-road condition the hp isn't important as the torque is
and the diesel always have the edge on that aspect
@@krekmanski you are correct, the 1300cc (150hp) petrol has 250Nm of torque and the 1.5 Diesel has 260Nm of torque.

I like the Maxxis NP3 , for a winter tire it even works good in muddy conditions too.
It has been my experience that a wider spaced more aggressive tread works better in the conditions that you show in most of your vids.
If you look back at most winter tires through the years, they have gotten away from the aggressive style of tread. The new tires always do better in the tests because the are tested on hardpack snow and ice, which favors a less aggressive tread and more sipes.
All season or mud tires don't work in the deeper snow conditions because of their harder rubber compound.

Если 1,3 на ручке и с хорошей резиной, то это отлично. А дизелю после таких покатушки надо давать проспаться на трассе иначе хана каталику.
I was schoked, that the cars terriblle performans. But the misin guilty was the tires. I advice to use Nokian WR D4. So you can see the Real performans of Duster' s. Buy the way, the gasoline engine was better then Diesel.

Salutare. Fain si util videoul! As vrea sa intreb daca ati recomanda motorul 1.3 tce cu completa incredere. Eu sunt interesat de acesta dar pe un Lodgy, pt ca am nevoir de cele 7 locuri. De 3 ani am un Sandero 1.0 Sce fara turbo, si dupa 50.000 km sunt foarte multumit: se conduce usor si fain, consum mediu 4,5/100km, in conditiile in care si merg in medie cu 70-80km/h 80℅ din timp. Nu e o masina de autostrada in schimb, deloc...dar nici nu aveam nevoie de asta. Stima! Orice parere legata de motorul de 1.3 e apreciata, si a altor useri de pe aici ;)

Try Kama viatti brina tyres for SUV. Cheap enough and very good for this mud and half snow. If you want premium then buy Nokian Hakkapelitta.
Those Rikens are actually a Michelin clone. I have them in the Taurus incarnation, but they can be had under other names also (kormoran winter suv), but it's the same tire and cheap. Cheaper that Those Kamas also.
Yes, they are under the Michelin brand, all made by Tigar tyres in Pirot,Serbia...Tigar,Taurus,Orium,Seiberling,Riken etc.Michelin bought all these smaller brands and now are producing these tyres in Srb. Not bad but many people said that Kama is better,neveremind,both are for this ocation quite ok.

My dacia is 1,6 tce 2x4 and performs much better on the mountain. Makes a little noise but
its ok.

Salut si felicitari pt ceea ce faci cu masina. Ca si anvelope de iarna ai putea studia Sava Eskimo S3 sau Cooper wsc, eu leam avut si am fost foarte multumit de ele. Ideea e sa fie formele cat mai mari si sa nu aiba legaturi intre ele ca sa deacarce zapada sau noroiul cat mai usor si bineinteles sa fie moi.

Pentru zăpadă formele nu trebuie sa fie mai mari, ci din contră cât mai mici.
Anvelopa nu trebuie să descarce foarte multă zăpadă deoarece cea mai bună aderență la zăpadă o are ... zăpada.
Deaceea forma anvelopelor de iarnă moderne este dată de multe canale și nervuri succesive și mici.

Salut. Poti incerca Sava Eskimo S3+. Sunt decente ca si pret iar pe mine nu m-au dezamagit deloc. Am trecut la Sava dupa niste Bridgestone Blizzak despre care pot spune ca erau ok doar pe zapada, cabd dadeaua de gheață se comportau ca niste anvelope de vara si aveau si zgomot mare de rulare. Sava-urile mi s au parut extraordinare pentru pretul lor. Spor!
