All you need is tires, the right ones
Combine that with a smart driver who doesn't just smash the gas till 8k rpm and you won't get stuck 95% of the times

Winter tires vs 4 Season...?
Winter always. Don't use all season for winter, that's for mud and light snow, this offroading and ice need snow tires.
Or you can get off-road tires for even better experience
Summer time, use summer tires
Duster is low cost car.you will broke your car quickly. Prefer old audi with winter weel

In the test the Duster is by a mile the winner not only because has better tires ; the high car is an obvios avantage because you're not tuch or get suspended in deep snow on the midle ....; also highes but shorter and lighter car are also a plus !!!

By the way: deflate to 1.2-1.5 to go further ;)
why so low? Normally all tires are 2.2+
@@cautarepvp2079 Yes, but in heavy snow conditions, lowering the tire pressure allows the tire to keep going instead of sinking and burrowing in the snow. In winter racing rear-wheel drive cars, the pressure is usually no higher than 1.2-1.5
You can see the same effect on all-terrain vehicles - huge wheels with very low pressure.

excellent interpretation of the Dacia, even if a4 is disadvantaged by the higher weight and the 4 season tires. You have to try them with the same tires. Anyway great video👏👏
Sorry, but with so different tires this comparison. With good snow tires the Audi would kill the Dacia.
Every car will take you from a to b.... it is about preferences and what you can afford.

A very common mistake by first time quattro owners - thinking all season tyres are good. Did it myself with my first quattro more than 10 years ago. Basically they don't work in any season. Too spungey and soft for the summer, too hard for the winter and not a proper thread pattern for the rest of the time (not really having spring or autumn in Europe anymore; it's either really cold or really hot). Just take your quattro a nice set of winter AND summer tyres, change them accordingly and you will have a whole new appreciation for the car and the technology.

Whilst I do agree a dedicated winter tyre will be the best choice, technology has come along way from 10 years ago. All seasons tyres has had improvement in that time and it also depends on the brand. A budget all season tyre will perform like crap but a premium brand like the Michellin Crossclimate 2 will do a great job. In fact it's not far off from a winter tyre in the snow.
All season tyres are mainly designed for climate when it snows maybe a few days in a year like the UK (where I live) but if you love in the area where it snows alot, then nothing beats a dedicated winter tyre.
Unfortunately in the UK most people won't have all seasons tyres in the winter, let alone winter tyres and it's funny to see them all getting no where with summer tyres on.

Daca audi-ul avea cauciucuri si un sofer bun.lasa in urma cu mult duster-ul.
Cred că urcau amândouă până la urmă. Cu siguranță ar fi urcat mai ușor audi cu alte anvelope. Am și scris că s-a descurcat foarte bine, având în vedere anvelopele cu care era echipat.
E clar că filmulețul este făcut pentru a promova Duster-ul, șoferul din din Audi știe și el asta :))
Nici quatro nu mai e ce a fost. Cu orice audi model nou quatro ai compara dusterul bate la off road. Quatro nu e un sistem off road, el a fost gandit pt circuit, pe cand la duster e cu totul altceva.

The Bridgestone Weather Control tyres have a bias for wet and light snow conditions. Michelin Cross Climate 2’s would be better. But you have to have the same tyres on both cars.
Michelin CC is probably the best all-season tire available. But they are sure, no match for good Michelin or Continental winter tire off road. That being said, I was pretty surprised by Pirelli Scorpion all season on my X3 in deep snow. I would say good all season tire would be great choice for a city driver, or people in Italy, Spain, Greece and further south, where it rarely gets below freezing temperature.
I overcome more challenging conditions with Renault Broadway :)
That duster is doing great job for one of the cheapest 4x4 cars, am rly imprest with him.

I would say for the price difference between these two vehicles the Duster is well worth its price. If you have the money for comfort then just get the Audi.
I was in Trentino Alto Adige for winter season. Local police had to arrange a rescue team for helping a group a heavy suv trapped by snow. The first helping car arrived on place was a small Panda 4x4 with 1.3 liter diesel engine.
This is now called the road test ?! Yes, what can I say ...... I was "impressed" by what off-road car I have at home and I didn't know ..... I have a 1.6-liter car from '92 ..... a Vectra A ..... This kind of roads, I kind of do them frequently with my "old" car .... "off road" .....

Quattro 4 sezon lastikle bile çok fazlasını yaptı. Eşit olmayan şartlarda yapılmış bir testte duster sadece kendini aşağılamış.

Sure it helped but I think light weight and tires are the main reasons.
@@pycanthusderossi4665 yes, the ground clearance just gives the duster driver to try the climb with better speed, without the concern that it would damage something under the car because of the up/down movements.

Mi-ai citit gândurile. La dealul ala și 5 cm de zăpadă, cu Subaru chiar ii puteam tracta pe amândoi, la deal.
Intentionez sa ajung prin zona in weekend, cu un Duster pe benzina si un Forester XT. Poate facem un clip :D

It's well known that the Duster has an excellent 4x4 system... but you can't compare two cars with a difference of 300kg. It makes no sense on the conclusions. It's true that the Audi has more horsepower (177vs115) but the extra 60hp doesn't compensate for the extra 300kg. Furthermore the Audi did not have winter wheels…. However, the very fact that the Audi in those conditions did almost everything the Duster did, and it is a car a few centimeters taller and not an off-roader, says a lot about the Quattro system... try to think what an A4 Allroad 3.0 V6 TDI with 240 HP would do... which is the one I have😉... or a Panda 4x4 but with the right tyres...
meanwhile at the Restaurant on Top of the Hill: Lada Niva Driver is leaving after waiting an hour for Audi and Dacia Drivers....

Не особо объективный тест.Во первый, дастер едет первым и убивает дорогу, а во вторых, есть моральная проходимость автомобилей. Водитель ауди не опытный и жалеет машину. Во общем, видео было снято чтобы показать какой дастер крутой и у них получилось)))
Nu cred. Ce inteleg eu e ca Duster-ul e chiar o masina buna (cu minusurile ce tin de confort, antifonare, tabla subtire ...) si ca sistemul Quattro de la Audi e excelent, daca o masina de asfalt, fie ea AWD,, cu anvelope Allseason si sofer neexperimentat in offroad, a putut urma indeaproape Dusterul.

Are you Dacia employees? Were you supposed to prove that Dacia is like the king of snow driving in a dishonest way? Duster took off quickly, the engine almost worn out. Audi got non-winter tires and started slowly and it was still equal to the Dacia 😁. Dacia doesn't stand a chance even with the Fiat Panda 4x4.

Foarte tare,mi-as fi dorit sa fiu cu voi. Am A4 Allroad 2015,190cp si stiu ce poate masina asta.Indiferent ce sistem trectiune ai avea daca nu ai anvelope adecvate atunci e degeaba iar Allseason nu sunt bune nici vara nici iarna.Altfel era situatia cu anvelope bune dedicate iarna.Tu ai tinut-o numai in 4 -5 mii iar el maxim 3500 turatii,se vedea ca tine la ea si nici nu prea avea indemanare. Bafta

I have same year A4 and two pairs of tires all-season and winter and can tell you all-season tires are no better than summers. A4 with good winter tires is unstoppable only limitation being ground clearance

ground clereance is underrated, even suvs are so low, have low ground clereance
They sure are better than summer tires, which would be useless in the snow in low temperatures. All season are good for every day driving on asphalt and few inches of snow, but not more than that. Also quality of rubber has a big role. Can't compare cheap all-season with premium Michelin or Continental winter. My Pirelli Scorpion did well on road and on snow, while more narrow Continental winter beat them easy off road.

Dusterul poate mult mai mult decât ce se vede in video. Îi trebuie un șofer mai hotărât. Am alunecat cu al meu in arătură pe ploaie și l-am scos cu ușurință de acolo. L-am făcut cu noroi până pe acoperiș. A spus lumea că îl mai scot de acolo doar cu tractorul. Salutări din Germania de la un sibian 😊

Nu cred că videoclipul e făcut să pună în lumină proasta pe audi. Automat dusterul va trece mai ușor și cu viteza mai mare, pt că e mai înalt și nu lovește pe dedesubt. Pe autostrada normal că audi va fi mai bun. Un șofer de dustar nu va avea pretenții pe autostradă, iar un șofer de audi nu va avea pretenții pe camp. Și încă ceva: un audi sau orice alta marca la mana a 7, nu va fi o mașină scumpă, ci va fi o mașină de cat a costat ea la ultima achitizie!

Tampoco es una comparación justa. Ya que se le da ventaja al audi, porque si el Duster abre camino, el Audi también tendría que hacerlo, ya que no es lo mismo abrir camino que pasar por donde ya pisaron, Estoy seguro que si el audi tiene que abrir camino, no llega ni a la mitad de la cuesta.

Тут написано, что Audi на всесезонных шинах, а вторая на зимней резине. При таком раскладе верю.
7,5 лет за рулем ауди данной модели, застряла 1 раз в поле зимой оставил машину на 3-4 часа, когда вернулся она уже лежала на пузе, во всех остальных случаях, отключаешь электронику и дорабатываешь газом - едет везде, просто жалко такую красотку и мозги рулевой рейки сразу под защитой, по лужам не покатаешься особо!
Тут больше похоже что Audi на летней резине.

Duster s-a descurcat bine (parerea mea) insa testul dintre cele 2 masini nu a fost deloc cinstit din 2 motive.
1. Diferenta mare de cai putere.
2. Diferenta dintre tipurile de cauciucuri.
Așteptăm ARIO împotriva Duster sau măcar Dacia Papuc. Papucul îl face praf pe Audi împreună cu Duster.

Ta A4 ma opony wielosezonowe czyli letnie praktyczne. Miałem kilka a6 quattro c4 c5 i c6 obecnie wróciłem do C4 ale oponie zimowej Quattro jest nie do zatrzymania niemal pod takie górki z przyczepą mozna jechać. Problem to ta elektronika typu EDS. Hamuje koła auto słabnie muli aż się zakopie. Trzeba to wyłączyć. Q5 nie miałem ale powinno być dobre na śniegu ( moze troszkę silnik mały). Bo Q7 w starej budzie i a6 c5 allroad radzą sobie znakomicie c4 tez daje radę. Nawet się zastanawiam nad Q5.

1) Winter tires and allroad are not built for this kind of conditions, they are made for the ROAD (Proper tires AT, MT or RT)
2) Both drivers are clearly inexperienced in offroad driving 2.2 bar in this conditions is just a nonsense (ussually you should be at least using 1.2 or less).
3) The duster is a way better vehicle for conditions and terrain like this, that is out of discusion (better ground clearance and better gear relation) in the same way that on road the audi will crush the Dacia in every aspect (more power, better traction control, estability, confort, security, etc)
Normal weather condition here in Finland. 😁 We have little metal spikes in our wintertyres. I think they are called studs in english? I have nokia nordman 7 tyres with studs.

Daca stai bine sa te gandesti si le compari, un a4 din ala nou e cam cat vreo 3 Duster.uri noi. Sa nu mai vorbim de tehnologiile pe care le detin cei de la Audi cand e vorba de quattro. Relevanta nu prea vad in ce spui tu...

@@DusterCoolTravels cele m+s nu au aceeasi aderenta , nu "misca" din zapada ca cele de iarna. Vezi ca sunt teste oficiale in care m+s la franare se duc pe gheață aproape ca sania.

Am urcat panta de 60 grade cu audi quattro , zapada pana la nr cu masina ridicata din perne.. plecare din rampa .. iar sub zapada era un strat de zapada batatorita din prima ninsoare .. in nici un caz pamant. A urcat mancand norii si vin astia cu un film de tot rahatul.. nu stiu cum sa demonstreze ca dusterul are o tractiune mai buna decat quattro. Sunt cretini

@Chris Anderson If You're planning to crash a car, buy a Volvo (might save Your life) OR just don't drive at all... Duster is a cheap SUV, but it is very capable - look for "Duster Syberia" on YT - most pricier SUVs won't even be able to do that.. Also, keep in mind that You wouldn't want to go on a hard off-road track with f.e. a very pricey Range Rover or Merc or AUDI Q-class SUVs - You will damage it eventually.. Duster, on the other hand, You can go on hard off-road without thinking of any damage - You damage it, You don't care about it because it will be cheap to repair it... Another factor of SUVs is maintenance - SUVs will require better maintenance than a sedan or hatchback (due to being built in more complex way). Those examples I gave before (AUDI, Merc, RR) will cost You a fortune to maintain, and Duster - few bucks and You're good to go... But now let's turn back to Your stated facts about "Moose Test" and "Crash Test". I assume that You are talking about regular city driving with "probable incident". So, for starters, calling George a naive fool was a bit foolish of Yourself because SUVs aren't made for regular city driving, they're made for off-road (and many pricier SUVs can't even do that). You want a car for city driving - forget the Duster... And if You're thinking about safety - forget Dacia itself... Dacia cars were built to be cheaper option for people, who have more sense than money and are BETTER THAN REGULAR DRIVERS (never heard of any Dacia car crash in my country)...
Audi 6 years older than Dacia, in 6 years it will be even easier for DACIA to climb up because you will be able to push your feet through the hole in the floor :-)
Se vede ca Audi nu are cauciucuri cu aderenta buna . Sper ca pe Duster nu ati folosit cauciucuri cu tinte . Daca doriti sa vedeti adevaratul allroad trebuia sa il comparati cu un 3 litri quattro de preferat q7 . Oricum felicitari Duster chiar se descurca foarte bine . O masina buna pentru oi sau firme de paza :))))

So, tires are the most importantx but even if u got good tires u still wont make it if ur car is low
Hmm no, no need for 150+ hp for snow driving 😅 it's all about grip and control.. Even a fiat panda petrol 4x4 can do this 😉
A fiat panda 4x4 beats a lot of big offroad cars because it is light in Austria everybody wants a Panda, these Cars are awesome. Or look at the VW Kuebel which only has rwd and beats a land Rover in a Test, because the Landy stucked in the mud....
Power is very unimportant for driving offroad. Weight and tires and ability to drive!
@mrmichaelmw I prefer manuel, because you can use your clutch and gears more, rather than a automatic 😋. But if the automatic have a low/high gear ratio and can lock it's diff's, then you can have some more fun with the car 😁👍 it will crawl like a tank, sort of speak..

Ma bucur ca ai tinut cont de sugestiile noastre si ai adus si un quattro in joc(asteptam si un Subaru acum), dar Audi a avut prea multe dezavantaje cu anvelopele allseason, garda la sol(aici ar fi trebuit sa fie C5 Allroad) si soferul care a protejat-o prea mult si nu a putut sa le compenseze doar prin tractiune. Daca tot vrem sa stim ce loc are Dusterul in lumea 4x4 hai sa facem totul asa cum trebuie.
Sa fim seriosi Duster 15000-20000 euro nou Audi il iei second hand la banii astia.
