      Mike, man I'm a pasta lover 😅 but will be careful with don't eat it too often. Soda I quit drinking, but only sugar free at parties. The nutritionist lied me with the white chocolate as "better" than the regular 😮

    I mean everything in moderation. Anything can be dangerous and unhealthy in excess. Water is literally toxic in excess. Yet it's the healthiest thing you can drink.

      I heard a couple situations where this has happened. A game show. A lady drank too much and passed. And a few cases where parents forced small children to drink too much water as punishment causing a heart attack.
      Rare. But unfortunately has happened.

    So basically we can't eat anything! I am with my dad's philosophy, "What is the difference between longer, and just making it seem longer." He ate what he wanted, and died at 87. He died not from what he ate. He died mostly because he wanted to. He just didn't want to be here anymore.

      Well, according to the list, just eat the freshest available produce. Processed vegetables are good enough, too. (But not canned.)
      Just use good judgement, and you'll be fine.

    Our ancestors had it right. No processed food, no added sugar, no trans fats, no cholesterol, no sodium, etc and all lived to the ripe age of 40...My backyard looks pristine since I graze now.

    I was staying in a hotel with a tiny fridge and microwave for 6 weeks. Not being able to cook for myself I was eating a lot of fast food. Although I was walking over 10,000 steps a day, my body changed noticeably.

      10,000 steps a day isn’t going to make you lean or vascular, nor build muscle. You said that like the ten thousand steps were supposed to offset all the fast food you were eating.😂

      Processed foods such as fast foods contain a high amount of sodium, cholesterol and unhealthy fats. Not to mention, if you were eating it everyday, there’s no way 10,000 steps a day was going to help you lose any of that weight. I assume by steps you mean walking/slow jogging. If that’s ALL you did, then it definitely wasn’t going to have much of an affect.
      If you were eating healthy, and at a caloric deficit, then you would’ve just been losing a pound a week in a six week span if you really were taking 10000 steps a week. So the above comment’s right.

    I have to be happy so I eat what I want. I don't over consume but I'm not living off of healthy food. My mom is in her 70s and she always eats healthy. Salads, no butter barely any snacks, fruit and no burgers or fried food and she recently had a heart attack. She has adopted my policy now of eating what you want. She now eats burgers and fried foods more still in moderation of course but you don't have to deprive yourself.

    I eat hot dogs about three times a year, I don’t use sugar in my coffee or tea. I never go to Wendy’s, McDonald’s or Burger King. I stopped drinking OJ, my triglycerides were sky high, turns out a half gallon over a weekend is bad.

    I have to say this. Ive been drink8ng diet soda for years and i have friends raving about all the "zero" sodas. Check the label: they are all still made with aspartame.

    Idiotic list. Evidence:
    #26 - Water (H20) Drinking too much water in a short span of time can lead to Water Intoxication. Which could lead to death. Symptoms of Water Intoxication are: 1) Head pain, 2) Cramping, spasms, or muscle weakness, 3) nausea or vomiting, 4) drowsiness or fatigue.
    In short, for ALL of those things in the list, MODERATION is the key, Eat what you want. Just don’t overdo it.

    I have not tried everything on this list but I have had Fugu. It was really good but not good enough to eat on a regular basis. I had to know I've had it. Never again. On a side note. I just got over a bad sore throat. I hope you get better soon. TY TY for still doing these lists. Even while ill.

    I think the BEST thing you can do is...
    MOVE. sitting and driving and laying down most of the day is bad. Keep that blood circulating.

    I have been on a carnivore diet for fourteen months. My HDL is 55 and my LDL is 95. My doctor told me that I should continue avoiding carbohydrates and most of all sugar. All the pro-carbohydrate studies were funded by Kellog, Post, and the sugar industry. Who would have guessed.

    This information is not new to me, but I appreciate the reminder of what I need to keep on the "not too often" list. I prefer to prepare my food from scratch (like Mom taught me) and I love vegetables, so I'm fortunate.

    The biggest problem with shop (dried) pasta is it contains more than 2 ingredients. Fresh pasta contains Flour and Eggs with a pinch of salt. Store bought pasta contains artificial ingredients to increase shelf life. Most of which are what makes it unhealthy. I make my own with Wholemeal flour and Eggs and that’s it. Also I only wholemeal or wholegrain bread which once again I make myself so I know what is in it. Ps American bread contains more sugar than breads made in the UK and Europe.
    The use of all the nitrites & nitrates in foods in the UK are more strictly regulated than in the USA, especially added one. However Nitrites are naturally occurring in many vegetables, however they are at safe levels and are beneficial for heart health.
    Artificial sweeteners eg saccharin and its associated artificial family members are that good that insects like ants and wasps will go out of their way to avoid them. Also recent findings has found that some people can have allergic reactions to certain artificial sweeteners which can cause vomiting and diarrhoea. Where if you use stevia it’s zero calories but yet made from plants.

    I can say this much about canned foods-try like both my grandmother & mother did-when they passed, cleaned out the pantry-every last can was so bulged, that you treated it like it was nitro, very carefully handling it to throw it away

      Bad things are sugar, pasta, potatoes, rice, bread, and vegetable oils. Meat, green vegetables and fresh fruit are the good things to eat. The processed meats are only an issue because you are also eating bread, surar filled condiments, french fries and a carbonated drink which is just liquid candy to go with it.

    I bought my son a hot hot sauce in Calif one year. He spilled a bit on his tummy. It left a red mark!
    He always liked to try really hot spicy foods. Now older he has backed off.
    I don't eat any of these things regularly if ever.
    No longer fry foods and don't buy fast food nor pre packaged foods. Chips are a three time a year treat. If that.
    Still over weight and have high blood pressure.
    I cook everything.
    Even my own soups.
    I often consider whats in proccessed foods. Not just ingredients but insects and critters. Logically no proccess is perfect and we even swallow bugs standing outside.
    Aside from growing and preparing ones own food. We have to have some trust in factory preparation.

    The pasta & bread thing depends quite a bit on the type of flour you're using. White flour is not good at all. However, wholemeal flour does have fibre in it & is far more nutritious than white flour. And carbs aren't bad for you (in moderation, like all nutritious foods), they're actually a key food group. Altough I don't go overboard, I eat more carbs in the autumn & winter than I do in the summer, yet I find it easier to lose weight during that time.

    If you use red kidney beans in your pasta sauce it's adds fiber and better for you. I know it's not traditional but it does help.

      Fiber is essential in controlling sugar which is the reason fruit juice is so unhealthy without the fiber.

    Yes he's correct sugar and salt are very bad for you I should know my numbers were crazy out of control however when it comes to nitrates if you cook your food fully the nitrates are supposed to burn off

      Current scientific papers are saying salt is not bad for you and infact large amounts still aren't harmful. The real problem is all the other stuff that you eat like sugars, vegetble oils and carbs.

    Mike, I guess I’ll just have to die. Except for the casu marzu , the fugu and energy bars EVERYTHING ON THIS LIST is delicious. Things like hot dogs and ramen are often on the menu because they make a quick and cheap meal. Of course my hot dogs are worse because they are slathered in chili and Cole slaw. In reality, in order to eat ‘healthy’ you have to be one of the rich folks because the ‘healthy foods’ are priced outside of the normal persons budget.

    If you can stop eating these things you will lose weight. Salad is good but packaged salad is not good. It is convient though. I love ketchup too. Moderation is the best. It is best to eat natural Whole foods.

    I have eaten, and will likely continue to eat, everything you mentioned (some more than others) except the maggot cheese and fugu. Everyone has to die sometime, and although I have jokingly said that I want to be shot to death at the age of 102 by a jealous husband with just cause, I figure it will probably be one of the diseases of old age. I won't live in fear.
    I have also frequently said that eating a salad to reduce calories and then pouring fat all over it is counterproductive,
