I love the format of this video. It's wonderful that there's so much viewing time to get a good feel for the house and enjoy the details. Just enough narration to understand what you're viewing. Great job!
It's a beautiful place, many rarely seen features. Don't think I could tolerate LA. climate but those trees alone are so tempting! I noticed a lot of things that need some upkeep, those floors for one. Has to be very expensive to maintain such a home, but it would be such a shame to see it deteriorate. Such history is priceless & irreplaceable. Great tour & narration.
Wow! Thanks for the amazing tour! What a place!! I've never seen the double sinks or the sits tub or the foot tub like they have!! Really something! Thanks Kevin for the video 👍💞
Wow, what a special treat today with Kevin also serving as the narrator of this video! Good job, Kevin! What a beautiful property! The first thing that came to mind when I saw the well-preserved out-buildings and vast acreage: What a perfect place for multigenerational family homesteading. As for the 1830 Greek manor house, Kevin's excellent videography of the house made me feel like I was personally touring/inspecting the interior of an exquisite doll house. I could really feel and appreciate the true dimensions, sizes and limitations of each room; and, the true sizes/heights of the furnishings, accessories, bathroom sinks, toilets, bath/foot/sit tubs etc., totally congruent with sizes found in homes from the 19th century. This video too was a wonderful excursion into the historic past. Thank you for letting me tag along!
Great tour Kevin. Giving Laine a little R&R I see. You both do a terrific job showcasing these unique properties, and I enjoyed checking out the main home and property with you. I especially love the double sink vanities. Thank you for bringing us along.
Hi Kevin! Great narration and smooth, steady camera work. I love that this house has kept the Early 19th Century feel. As others have mentioned, the bathrooms are wonderful (the unusual dual sinks are terrific, especially the one with the fleur-di-lis). Instead of being made ostentatious or too modern, there is the quiet luxury of a large room, a fireplace, and a footbath! I need one of those. This property is like a town in itself; it would take a week to see everything. I love the feeling of open space and quiet, an homage to a simpler time. An extra-special treat this week. Cheers! :)
I've been there and saw that property years ago..it was so exciting seeing that yall visited there..I'm from Lafayette Louisiana and We have alot of history here in Louisiana ..Absolutley Love your Channel...👍🥰❤
The house was beautiful! I was disappointed that they didn't show the inside of the other buildings like the gate house, The Fish House, the caretaker's house etc.
Kevin, your voice is really soothing. have you done voice-over work before? at first i was like, who is that? it threw me because Laine usually does the talking in your home tour videos. (she's wonderful, too, btw!) 😊 anyway, thank you both for another lovely tour. what a gorgeous home! 💛
Loved the tour and seclusion but you would need to fill all the other homes with staff to take care of the upkeep. It is such a marvelous tract of land not to mention all the other perks that come in the package. Thanks for sharing this beautiful estate with us,
I grew up near this property! The entire property has paved walking trails as it used to be open to the public to walk the grounds. The only heartbreaking thing are the gardens outside the main home. The gardens used to be full of roses and other plants and was immaculately kept. It’s interesting to be able to see the inside of a home I walked by multiple times a week when I was a child. I’m curious to know if the small wrought iron fenced grave yard is still there as well.
Omg !!! My dream home 😍!! In the warm south too !! My only hope of getting a place like this is in the coming apocalypse... hopefully I'll be roaming and come across an empty place like this!!! Lol . This amazing home literally makes me get goosebumps. This is the only reason I would want to be rich !! ( Plus rescusing homeless animals like I do ). I once had a historic home in the Belle Grove historic district in fort Smith Arkansas...but it doesn't begin to compare to this beauty
An absolutely beautiful home! This is home made for anyone's dream. Could imagine a Bed and Breakfast even. If zoned properly it would work perfectly for anyone who would like to take time for a business of their own even if on the smaller side? Holiday time with decorations up would be heavenly! Thank you, Keven, for this tour, and you truly did do a fine job!
Great job, Kevin, and I loved the music. What a grand home and grounds. A long ways from my budget, but I think I'm going to start buying lottery tickets.
What an incredible home and property! Now I REALLY wish I was a millionaire. I'd need to be to hire people to help keep the house a property. Communal living, anyone??🤣
Thank you so much for this! We have been eyeing the property on Zillow for about two months debating whether or not we were going to make the drive up to go and see it in person!!!
Our one son is into construction, and it is so very true how expensive it is now to buy materials etc. Hope things wil get better to be honest as it is hard to do what you want always if they have the price up too high. Of course, it has to be figured in , but no one wants to charge more in order to make it work out properly in the end, but one must really. This is new to me this Masterworks/art restoration Not sure if my son knows about it and want to share this with him!
Beautiful home, one of my favorite style of homes. Nice to see a carpet runner up the stairs, probably needed to be about 32 feet long. Enjoyed your narration.
Would've been nice to see inside the other buildings. Even better would've been that you listed the price in the description or at the beginning of the video. I wouldn't still be up at 3:43 am if I knew the price. Or even that it had all it had. A house on 58 acres might be reasonable in LA, but 6 other houses, tennis courts, etc... I wouldn't bother watching because I couldn't afford it. But that's why you're not upfront about the price. :/
Theresa I’m so sorry we’ve treated you so poorly with our free content. The Zillow listing is in the description so a click could have taken you to the price in a matter of seconds. But maybe you can get a nap today to make up for the horrible treatment.
I love that kitchen. Too bad you can't get people to help thru workaway. Of course, you must furnish them with room and board. BEAUTIFUL salmon colored walls of bedroom. I hope the furniture comes with the house? Thanks Kevin for talking the talk. I've located Washington on the map. Between Baton Rouge and Eunice, LA. Still within driving distance to Natchez. BEAUTIFUL land and outbuildings. Do you know what crops can be grown on the land? Besides, cattle? Thank you for showing. ...e
Had to look up the sitz bath... never heard of or seen one of those before. Was this a resort or B&B? This property had me confused. But I loved seeing it
@@OurRestorationNation The first major restoration of this property was in the 1930s when it was bought from the bank by George Wallace, a lawyer for Huey Long. George's wife had grown up in the house. After he died she sold it to people from TX. During the late 60s I think the house was open for tours. I lost track of who owned it after that. I walked the property in 2008, and it is tragic to see what has happened to them. There was an incredible collection of daylilies. There was a section of heirloom poppies from women were asked to grow them in the Civil War. There was an arbor of muscadine grapes I also noticed the massive sugar kettle is gone from the formal garden, and looks like the sundial and smaller sugar kettle is too.
Wow, this would be well worth the restoration, but I thought the first thing would be to check the electric long before Lainey finally mentioned it at the end. Ooh, need a sand blaster on all of that wood! I would love to tear out all those horrible shelves and cabinets. Lots and lots and lots of scraping and painting. I love purple/lavender, but that bathroom would have to go!
I love the house however some changes would have to be made like an updated kitchen, maybe add some modern pieces around the entire house without taking the charm away from the home.
14:02-14:51 That Dual Sink one of a kind - YO' IS DA F.KING BOMB. I LOVE old *unusual* antiques. Modern stuff made in the last 45++ years is Mass Produced, BORING, CHEAP, lacking character. Unless some artsy person creates whatever by their mind & hands.
The only thing I would be concerned with is the risk of a small child being carried off by a mosquito. On the plus side instead of shooting skeet, you could use the mosquitos.
The swamp is at the top of the hill. The hill was dug out for the clay to create the bricks to build the house. The resulting hole filled with water and cypress trees. There is always a chance of seeing a gator, but it isn't like in FL. My grandmother grew up in that house and swam in the bayou and she never mentioned gators.

To answer your question: ghastly.
I love all those old cast iron features, some I've never seen before.
I love the format of this video. It's wonderful that there's so much viewing time to get a good feel for the house and enjoy the details. Just enough narration to understand what you're viewing. Great job!
Great job narrating Kevin! Beautiful property! 💚💜
This is a beautiful home. I can't imagine living like this. Amazing.
I hope it all stays together and not subdivided...

A very interesting piano with candle holders

That’s my neck of the woods. We alway go to the Old Washington School house for antiques. A lot of beautiful old homes there.
The possibilities with this place are endless! Great job Kevin pulling double duty on this video.

This is probably the finest property I've ever seen to include my many architectural/lanscape interests! Now...about that $4.9M! Lol

This was a pleasure to see this beautiful home and the out buildings!!! Thank you Kevin & Laine for your work!

Great video all around 🎉
Bet it comes complete with its resident ghosts. Have a great weekend everyone

Great job Kevin! I might have been a little worried when Laine said she sent you by yourself. 😉 Beautiful house, wish I had that kind of money. 😊
Thank you, Kevin. Your voice is so pleasant and soothing, it was a pleasure to listen to your narration. What a remarkable proprty!
Love this format of touring. Less distracting and more focus on the rooms. Great job..!!
Lovely job, Kevin! We have the distant cousin of that cherub light fixture in our living room. Ours is a reproduction, of course.😇
Good job, Kevin!
Excellent narration!
Love the bathroom under the stairs. The house I grew up in had one as well. Good space for a half bath!
Oh my goodness what a dream!!!!! God bless y'all
Impressive! It's a dream for me but hopefully someone's reality.
Great job, Kevin, and I loved the music. What a grand home and grounds. A long ways from my budget, but I think I'm going to start buying lottery tickets.
The swamp iris out back in Spring are the prettiest I've ever seen- always loved that town as well- great Boudin
Beautiful. I only wish they had mentioned whether the furniture was included and a tour of the other houses on the property.
A good power washer would do amazing wonders to that property. It is beautiful! An absolute dream come true. ❤️
This home is spectacular. I have toured several plantations in LA but nothing to compare with this. Thank you.
Beautiful but what a lot of upkeep
If i had extreme wealth, this is literally what I where i would want to live
Great house, love the bathrooms!
What an incredible home and property! Now I REALLY wish I was a millionaire. I'd need to be to hire people to help keep the house a property. Communal living, anyone??🤣
It’s like stepping back in time Beautiful house

Very beautiful
A sitz bath?! This house really has it all! Beautiful!
Great job Kevin! We missed you Laine!
Kevin should narrate more. Loved it!
What a wonderful place! I love Restoration Nation! To the narrator: Godey’s is pronounced with a long “o” as in Gooooo Hawkeyes! Sherry/Illinois.
I knew I would miss that. Thank you.
Beautiful home, one of my favorite style of homes. Nice to see a carpet runner up the stairs, probably needed to be about 32 feet long. Enjoyed your narration.
Enjoyed hearing Kevin's voice.
Can't imagine this property being on the market long!!
I hope someone turns it into a wonderful vacation location, I would love to stay there for a while!
Beautiful home and property. I love it.
If it was me, I’d operate the main house as a bed and breakfast, and live in one of the smaller houses.
Love this estate. I thought the Foot Bath was a Doggy Bath! My bad!
Your videographer is marvelous.
Beautiful.
Its beautiful
Beautiful!❤ Great job Kevin!
Loved Kevin's narration and soothing voice. You are very knowledgeable. A welcomed change.
Thanks?
Beautiful property but you best have deep pockets to restore it properly.
It has all been restored. It will require upkeep.
@@OurRestorationNation the floors and porches need work.
You’re right. It could use a little TLC.
I’m going to go out in a limb and guess that whoever has the money to buy it will have the money to do any repairs or upkeep

Beautiful home! One question that may be stupid, but why would an 1830s home have 5 bathrooms?
They are not original to the design. At some point spaces were redesigned to include them.
Great Asking price for all of that,Amazing Video,What great Filming
Does this home come staffed with servants?
Love it!

I’m afraid I don’t know what’s best grown there but the realtor might.
Had to look up the sitz bath... never heard of or seen one of those before. Was this a resort or B&B? This property had me confused. But I loved seeing it
To my knowledge, it was not an official resort or bnb. It was just a passion project and they did a magnificent job!!
@Our Restoration Nation what a treat! And loved getting the narration from Kevin for a bit of a change up! Love you both!!

Courtyard rather small for size of house and acreage
