I thought Shao Kahn was possessed by Onaga in MK 11 thus the reason why he appears as a half Dragon hybrid. cdna.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/027/069/856/4k/solomon-gaitan-sha-basebody-mk11.jpg?1590509077 i.redd.it/j99zj724mto81.jpg
Onaga is great but Shao Kahn is still my favourite character followed by Noob Saibot. And it’s obvious that at the end of MK Armageddon that Shao Kahn defeats or kills Onaga as after Onaga takes him from the Pyramid Of Argus there is only one way Shao Kahn could escape and reach the top of the Pyramid Of Argus and killing Blaze is by defeating Onaga otherwise Onaga would’ve been the one to reach the top of the Pyramid Of Argus since he’s so powerful. I have to say Shao Kahn’s design in MK11 is my favourite design of him as I love his outfit and love his spikes on his left arm and the talon like claws as his fingernails.
@@darthmeticulous6901 The poison who kill him could be re introducted has a powerfull like subtence who could easely hurt gods and literally vaporide peupol in place.
Onaga taking possession of Shao Khan for the next few games would be an amazing twist. Shao Khan always was a threat to dietes, and this would cement that threat.
Wouldn't be surprised if that happened if Shao Khan still alive that is, well it could be possible he turns out to be the next major antagonist in Mortal Kombat 12/XII.
Neither of them were ever a threat to the elder gods they themselves alone it was that their ability to be able to merge realms would release the one being and end them all that is what the elder gods directly feared. They didn’t directly fear shao Kahn in mk9 they feared his meeting of the realms would release the one being and with Onaga the same thing was true slone he wasn’t a threat to them it was his possession of the kamidogu making him far stronger than Onaga was meant to be and his goal to merge all the realms that they feared. They fear the one being and the two emperors would bring him back if they succeed in domination and they’re just the vassal for the one beings return.
@@pallani8471 Burning Indigestion: Onaga grabs his opponent mouth and breaths fire down their throat. He keeps going until he’s only holding a burning head in his hand. Skeleton Mutilation: Onaga summons his army of skeletons to maul and shred his opponent down to their skeleton wheee he resurrects them to be apart of his army. Ultimate Elbow Drop: Onaga breaks his opponents legs then flies up so far he crashes into the opponent with his elbow exploding their heads. It’s Bizzare, I know but it’s better than nothing
Onaga was easily the best thing about Deception. Powerful, intimidating, a cool voice, had charisma (at least I got that feeling based on how he manipulated Shujinko), and was methodical. Also, he HAD to be a tough nut to crack before using the Kamidogu because Shao Kahn (who I also really like as a character) didn’t bother fighting him to take Outworld, he poisoned him. Let that sink in… Shao Kahn is arguably one of the most powerful characters in the series, and even he was afraid to fight Onaga. So Onaga was on a whole another level. And yes, he could be tough to fight as he was immune to projectiles, but unlike Moloch (so one oni, Drahmin, ISN’T immune to projectiles, but another one, Moloch, IS? WTF!), it made sense to me that he would be, as the opening cinematic showed him being hit squarely in the chest by projectiles and not being hurt in the slightest. Personally, I don’t believe that this was from the Kamidogu, I genuinely believe he had a natural resistance to magic that wasn’t his. I just loved him since the very first day I played Deception, and getting to play as him in Armageddon was like a dream come true. As TFS Vegeta would say, “OH MY GOD , HE’S SO DAMN COOL!”
Everyone mentions shao Kahn feared Onaga…Thid WAS TRUE as in past tense. Everyone conveniently leave the fact that this was a far weaker version of shao Kahn that feared Onaga. Shao Kahn was originaly not that strong himself he was basically another Shang tsung in both battle power and title. Shaonkahj poisoned Onaga initially and after onagas death Kahn took over as emperor and during his time as emperor he grew monstrously far more powerful (shao Kahn) than he was during the time he had to poison Onaga. Shao Kahn had countless battles after he became emperor he absorbed countless souls also making him stronger and merged realms which again further amplified his power most notably merging edenia into outworld. By the events of mortal kombat 1 and 2 the same version of shaonkahn that is introduced to us in games, shao Kahn has grown worlds more powrful than during the time that he was onagas inferior and had to poison him. Now shao Kahn was emperor and grew far more powerful and reached the peak of his power himself by mk2’s events by this point shao kahn had surpassed his master if only by a bit. Don’t get confused with the fact that shao Kahn was originally a weakling and was nowhere near the power he was when shown to us in games in mk2. By mk2 shao Kahn had long killed Onaga and as I said grown far more powerful than the version of Kahn that had to poison him. Onaga in death was aware of shao Kahn’s power increasing after his death and he gathered the kamidogu in death as a means to revive himself already obtaining them and once again surpassing shao Kahn. Kahn however was defeated From mk3 went into hiding and wasn’t a threat to anyone at that point so he was hiding this is when Onaga returned and after his defeat he no longer possessed the kamidogu, reverting back to his original battle power bfr his original death when he was emperor. In armageddon emperor Onaga and emperor shao Kahn battle and shao Kahn is victorious, many people don’t want to accept it because Kahn was originally inferior to Onaga by a lot but again shao Kahn grew far more powerful than the version of himself that had to poison Onaga by the events of mk1-2 shao Kahn was many times stronger than the Kahn that served Onaga ppl conveniently leave that fact out purposely to build Onaga up. Onaga was already a massive threat in deceptions story with the power of the kamidogu so it didn’t matter if he was emperor in the past or was a weakling out of nowhere with the kamidogus power as he was the strongest during deception howver his story retelling of him having been stronger than shao Kahn at that point was more for show to show onagas story and relevancy to shao Kahn originally but again Onaga was stronger than a a version of Kahn that was nowhere near his own power until after he poisoned Onaga himself. Onaga on his own was strong but the problem with him is he was artificially made the strongest with the kamidogu OR he was the strongest when he was emperor because shao Kahn himself was only a minion at the time and he himself would become emperor later on and achieving a battle power that was worlds greater than when he served under Onaga. Regardless of who was stronger in Armageddon, the gap of power Onaga once held as emperor was gone as Kahn was also emperor and his increase in power showed as he ended up defeating Onaga. The problem I don’t like about Onaga is the whole thing about him originaly being stronger than Kahn was to give him relevancy in the story but Kahn also was just a weakling himself. Onaga was never superior to the same emperor shao Kahn of mk1-3 events Onaga was superior to the shao Kahn who had not yet realized his potential which wouldn’t happen until after Onaga died the first time. Onaga can always return but he’d need the kamidogu to be relevant again on the same level. The problem I have with the kamidogu is is the power of all the realms so it would make anyone the strongest regardless of how strong or weak they were before so Onaga isn’t really the strongest anymore, not without the artificial battle source. Shinnok on his wages a war directly on the elder gods and gods and all the realms and in his own power nearly destroyed all the gods and realms including shao Kahn and onagas outworld had shinnok not been stopped. He was weakened after his original defeat however his goal was always to restore his power he didn’t need an artificial source of power like Onaga did shinnok almost did succeed on his own imagine if HE had the kamidogu rather than a lesser being. It’s like saying Shang tsung is stronger than shao Kahn yeah with the power of the crown he outclasses his master but without it he is naturally weaker and everyone knows this and the same holds true with Onaga he is weaker than at least shinnok without needing a massive power up like the kamidogu which is perhaps the largest one.
@@fernandoenamorado2480 Not wrong about Shao Kahn, but I would like point out that I NEVER said Onaga was the strongest, just that he was a class of his own. Really given Shao Kahn poisoning him so long ago, it’s more luck for the rest of the cast of Mortal Kombat. Had Onaga never been poisoned, there’s no telling how screwed the universe might have been by the events of MK1, as he might have grown to that “near-invincible” state he was in during Deception much sooner.
I always see Onaga has the 2nd strongest by nature of the three big main villains and shao Kahn naturally was the weakest. However this is speaking who was more or less born the strongest being which is without a question Shinnok and Kahn was the weakest however he did surpass his master after his death and grew much stronger than he was supposed to have been as the acting Shang Tsung to onagas rule. Shao Kahn basically became what Shang Tsung became in aftermath his power level went far beyond What it originally was supposed to have been. One thing about shao Kahn is he did earn that spot he perhaps cheated in killing Onaga the first time but he did grow to be stronger than him even if just by a bit by the time his power showed in Armageddon. In armageddon shao Kahn was at his previous battle power minus the earthrealm souls he had in mk3. Those souls absorbed made him vastly more invincible and would have trashed Onaga in Armageddon easily. The Armageddon Kahn was the mk2 version before he had the soul boost. After his mk3 defeat all those souls he had absorbed within the mk3 merger of realms were gone expelled when liu kang defeated him so that’s why I say Armageddon Kahn was a mk2 power level shao Kahn who battled Onaga. Mk2 shao Kahn was technically shao Kahn at his prime as emperor without any boosts of power same witj Onaga when he was revived he reverted to his power level before his original death as his revival in deception he had already attained all the kamidogu and surpassed his own power by a lot. Emperor shao Kahn of mk2 wss enough to defeat the same power level Onaga that Kahn had to originaly once poison that is why Kahn surpassed his master. Imagine if shao Kahn had his souls from Mk3 he would crush onsgs so quickly. Emperor Onaga was only stronger than a weak version of shao Kahn bfr he became emperor not the mk1-3 versions of kahn that Kahn proved to defeat Onaga without his kamidogu. I think Onaga did become the strongest in terms of which villain achieved the most power but it isn’t really his power so despite the power he displays being godly and immense I can’t take onsgs seriously when his own battle power is defeated by mk2 level shao kahn which is a weaker Kahn than mk3 Kahn and that shao Kahn in mk3 still couldn’t Stand up to the elder gods in mk9 the same way shinnok originally did. So it makes sense Onaga served shinnok. And yeah you’re right howver if shinnok wasn’t stopped himself the first original war with him then Onaga wouldn’t have been around himself to do anything as he would’ve been destroyed as well. Unless shao Kahn was emperor then he would’ve been the one destroyed along with their realm. That’s why shinnok alone to me personally is the biggest threat he has the power to end the elder gods and the realms by himself without any external aid like Onaga needed and Kahn couldn’t do it even with power ups although he was still extremely powerful in mk3 mk9 ending
@@fernandoenamorado2480 midway made the intro of Armageddon with the idea that taven would be the one to win it all. Shao Kahn gaining the power of a blaze was simply necessary for the reboot and made more sense for the storyline of MK9, it’s kind of hard to believe that he killed Onaga and then magically made it back to the top of the pyramid in time to kill blaze
Shawn Kittleston, the writer of DC Comics' MORTAL KOMBAT X mag. Had a storyline, which was intended to be canon. Which started out in the book with Goro having his arms lobbed off by Kotal Kahn. Seeking to regrow them, Goro sought out Taven and the Red Dragons to get access to the dragon egg. Had the series continued, we'd have Goro possessed by Onaga. And we'd end up with a four armed Dragon King.
I like when onaga originally ruled out world, it was relatively peaceful and the Realms were not as bad off. But it's only when he died that he fell corruptible.
Onaga never got rid of Shinnok, totally wrong there. In fact, its Shinnok who gave a chance to Onaga after his defeat, he serves Shinnok in MK Armageddon. Do your research in that detail, the video is amazing nonetheless dude, keep it up!
I said the same thing. The Sam way shao Kahn served Onaga, onagas master was Shinnok. I think he meant to say Shang tsung instead of shinnoks name at that moment and got them confused lol
Maybe not a villain but definitely an anti-hero being he never caused trouble for the other realms, I would find it funny if Fire God Liu Kang went back in time and saved Onaga from being poisoned by Shao Kahn, lesser of two evils I guess.
That’s because his will was that powerful vs every other ruler of outworld they always succumbed to the one beings influence to merge the realms. Onaga resisted this and went on his own path which led shao khan to do what he did to get power and merge the realms
Have to The Dragon King not only is he one of the most powerful destroyers of his verse and realm conqueror but he also knows how to conquer the ladies li Mei lol
For the love of god nrs bring this man back, he’s literally a dragon who doesn’t want that in the mk universe?! We need more characters like onaga and less special forces characters. Onaga was the real deal imagine a cinematic fight scene between Shao Kahn and Kotal Kahn and Onaga just emerges and beat the crap out of the two of them to take his throne back, how epic would that be
Except onagas power is overrated and not his own. YES,Onaga WAS shao Kahn’s master a long time ago and a long time ago long before shao Kahn became emperor he had to poison Onaga….After this however shao Kahn grew worlds more powerful than he could’ve ever hoped to be when Onaga was emperor and Kahn had to poison him. This battle you speak of already happened minus kotal. Shao Kahn defeated Onaga in Armageddon already and this is more recent and significant to the series than when shao Kahn had to poison him. Shao Kahn poisoned him during a time he wasn’t emperor yet and was alot weaker than he was during mk1-2 events. This is why shao Kahn won against Onaga in Armageddon. The power Onaga displayed in deception was not his own but kamidogu. Without that power however,he lost to shao Kahn the second time fair and square
@@fernandoenamorado2480 We’re never actually shown what happened to him after he flew off with Kahn. All we are shown is that Kahn survived it. Onaga’s body was not seen.
If the mk universe is indeed going to be fully reset for a whole new era, This monster right here is THE perfect antagonist to really set it all. No shao khan this time, only the dragon king alone will make any fighter sweat. He deserves a trilogy and my hod if the leaks are true I’m all for it.
@@DonYoGi8331 looks like we’re in uncharted territory then. If that was revealed already, then by default well not just have one big bad but several big bads. Onaga being one, Shang tsung as a second and third within reason that I suspect will be in is Geras. As to why, easy cause he is unkillable and has survived every reset of time itself, since he is a fixed point in time. When in time was never revealed
I’m preeeeeeetty sure Onaga is gonna be the new big bad in the old timeline they’re doing in the next game. It doesn’t have to be the timeline that the great Kung Lao exactly was in, I can see Onaga being the ruler of outworld while we get a young Shao Kahn under rule.
It's been comfirmed Onaga is emperor in the new timeline👍. In a mirror Liu Kang match video I saw one asks "Does Onaga exist in your timeline?", the other says "Exist?!...he rules it...".
The Elder God's never feared him they infused Scorpion to take him out and would have had Shujinko not beat him to the punch. Onaga didn't kill Shinnok, Raiden and Kahn as MKA proved. Raiden took himself and Quan chi and Shang out in Deception but came back being an immortsl.God. Onaga was only *invincible* because he had every kamidogus. The kamidogus wield the power of the one being as to why Onaga was so powerful. Onaga isn't immune to the one being it actually corrupted him as it did everyone whos evil thats how the one being has power even after being defeated by the Elder God's because of its influence....he needed Shujinkos help which is why he deceived him. Normally he's not that powerful and got beat via Shao Kahn poisoning him centuries ago... They should being back Onaga for the newer God Cosmic time keeper Liu Kang timeline.
@@RichyMaths The one being is literally the realms before being split,Kronika only resets time back to the beginning of when the realms were created,The one being predates the realms all together
@@RichyMaths - the writer of MK11 said the Titans are stronger, but that’s only because he retconned the origin of the MK universe to make his kharacters look good. I still think the One Being is stronger since he existed before everyone and everything.
Mortal Kombat should really bring back, Dragon King as a main stay character. If we got Tsang Tsu and Shou' Khan why not him as well? Or DLC character, he doesn't need to be part of MK 12 story mode.
By far my favorite villain in the entire series. I do think he still exists in the story following the MK9 reboot cause remember, Raiden doesn't begin changing the timeline until during the first tournament. Everything else before that had occurred such as Bi Han's Mythologies quest that was hinted and mentioned in both MK9 and MK11's Aftermath. The only thing that changed was Onaga's opportunity for resurrection since Reptile never allied with Nitara and never ventured to the dragon egg.
Cetrion mention him to Liu Kang by the way. She told him he has Onaga's fire, Liu replied somethin like there is no relation, then Cetrion told him he was ignorant, meaning he had no idea he's Onaga's descendant.
You know I never noticed until we kinda got a side by side in this video but, Shao Kahn’s costume in MK11 very much looks like it’s supposed to represent Onaga. The helmet with huge horns and all. Khan even appears to have dragon skin. Maybe Onaga took over Khans body… maybe Khan didn’t escape Onaga. 🤷🏻♂️
It would be nice to see Onaga as the main boss in Mortal Kombat One or at least at the end of the story mode it leaves us on a cliffhanger that Onaga returns meaning that he will return in the following game. But I still want to see Onaga in Mortal Kombat One and watching the Lin Kuei trailer it show undead soldiers running to attack Scorpion/Kuai Liang and he burns them with his Hell Fire with a sword melting just inches from his face. And the undead soldiers have a green glow around them which is their soul as we all know souls are green in the Mortal Kombat universe.
He's alive and shown in Reiko's MK1 ending. Shao wants to free him and use him as a doomsday weapon against Mileena's empire. We might see this play out in the story expansion.
Onaga was such a imposing and threatening villain... Shao Kahn had too poison him in order too take his throne.. body bagged Quan Shang and Raiden all at one time... It is a absolutely sin he ain't been brought back
I love how you guys break down the storylines but ffs can you please learn how to pronounce the names of the hero’s and villains in the lore you’re describing.. I get you probably have never played the games but does no one vet this info before handing you a script and saying go for it we don’t care about your pronunciations ?
The Dragon King was only so strong with the Kamidogu. Without them he's still formidable but not nearly impervious. He revealed himself to Shujinko after killing the three fighters. He said at the end on Konquest that know that Shujinko collected all the Komidogu he was going to go and take the amulet from Quan Chi. The lores off dude.
So if the mk1 trailer is true and shang stung dies from lui Kang. Kahn should be teased as the actual boss until onaga annihilates him and is real boss
Definitely in the same tier but just under Kronika. Maybe it's Kronikas Time Hax that would make him lose, but to control Time itself, you have to be extremely powerful
He’s not anywhere near her power not without the kamidogu and that’s not his power it’s like basing Shang Tsung as a whole due to a time where he was the most powerful due to some power up it wouldn’t be his original power the same way onagas is not his own with kamidogu. Onaga lost to shao Kahn in Armageddon so he’s actually just a little under shao Kahn on his own UNLESS you cheat and give him that ridiculous power up but then anyone would be the strongest if they wield the power of the kamidogu so why even use it as a means to judge ONAGAS power rather than power he contained temporarily like he did in deception. Kronica and shinnok are naturally the strongest beings,Onaga and shao Kahn needed external factors to be extremely powerful. Kronica>shinnok>emperor shao Kahn>emperor onaga. If you want inaga to cheat using the kamidogu in this then perhaps he’s the strongest but again it’s not his power anymore than the crown was Shang Tsungs power so I can’t take Onaga seriously as far as an extremely high power level when it was never his own he was only introduced with it already so it seemed like he was that powerful but in the following game he’s shown exponentially weaker without those relics
How is he in the same tier when he’s literally not. He’s weaker than shao Kahn and needed the kamidogu to become all powerful. Yes, he was extremely powerful in deceptions events but that was due to the possession of the kamidogu which you have the power of each individual realm,if you really need to have the power of all the realms in order to be stronger than everyone else it means he’s not that strong. And yes he was stronger than shao khan when shao Kahn was his minion but after that shao Kahn grew exponentially stronger after onagas original death surpassing his master after his death. Shao Kahn as he is introduced to us as emperor of outworld is much stronger than the one that had to poison Onaga that was a far weaker shaokahn long before he ever achieved the peak of his own power so to even compare Onaga as emperor at his peak of power to shao Kahn when he wasn’t even close to his peak is rather wrong and unfair to compare a much weaker shao Kahn to Onaga. Compare them both when they both have their empower power levels and shao Kahn wins as he did in Armageddon
Shinnok was always the strongest naturally speaking and then Onaga then shao Kahn. After shao Kahn poisoned Onaga he became emperor himself and became worlds stronger than he ever was when he battled Onaga and was outmatched by him and had to poison him. Shao Kahn in mk1-2 is shao Kahn at the peak of his power much stronger than the version that was outclassed Onaga. IF he didn’t already surpass Onaga by this point then shao Kahn grew even stronger in mk3 where he absorbed all earth realms souls. Shao Kahn did surpass Onagas power after onagas death and in Armageddon he proved this when they battled there was no kamidogu to save Onaga no power boost from shao Kahn either and shao Kahn won. Onaga even feared shinnok and said he needed blazes power to defeat Shinnok and agreed to be his servant and minion
@@fernandoenamorado2480 I dont say you are wong in fact all of what you say is true but personnaly as somoine who like Onaga I was disapoint to see that Shao Khan kill him (and I know its a question of favoritisme) and the fact that we can see in the intro of Armagedont that Onaga seem have the adventage and I think shao won by the fact he is mk n'1 vilain they say he won for mk 9 in new area (Also flom a point of vieu we dont see han killing him)
love the video, however theres one issue, Shao Kahn didnt absorb the Dragon King and gain dragonlike characteristics, Shao Kahn is half Dragon. I assume that MK11 just finally took the opportunity to make Shao Kahn look half dragon for his appearance. even in MK9 debut trailer, Shao Kahn does have dragon eyes and head that similar to the comic books
You lost me at he destroyed raiden shinnok and quan chi….. he defeated Shang Tsung not shinnok. And he didn’t just ally with Shinnok later on he agreed to servitude and being shinnoks minion and also mentioned if shinnoks plan going through then Onaga would be amongst the dead himself and feared shinnoks power. And he mentioned he would defeat shao Kahn blaze and only After obtaining blazes power would he then go to defeat shinnok. He implied he couldn’t defeat shinnok only after he obtained blazes power. The alliance with shao Kahn and the deadly alliance thst Onaga did in Armageddon was all directly Shinnoks doing he ordered Onaga to create an alliance with them. Onaga DID have his own plans for domination but his alliance with shao Kahn and deadly alliance was extremely superficial however he was legitimately Shinnoks pawn and minion at this point in time. If Onaga COULD force Shinnok to release him from the netherrealm he would have but it was made clear he didn’t believe he could at that point defeat shinnok. He worried if Shinnoks power himself and agreed to servitude not only to escape but as he didn’t believe he could at that point in time directly confont shinnok.most of the power Onaga has displayed has always been with the power of the kamidogu. The Onaga in Armageddon was weak in comparison he didn’t have the kamidogu anymore,if he did he would’ve forced shinnok to release him rather than agreeing to be his servant and minion but at that poking he didn’t have that power anymore and even he knew when he was outmatched by someone else. Also the end of konquest mode where he shows himself to shujinko is the retelling of the events up until the intro of deception. He confronted shujinko in konquest mode revealing he has possession of the kamidogu and their power and even mentioned going to deal with quan chi to retrieve the last vital piece which would fuse the kamidogu being shinnoks amulet and after making shujinko run away he goes after the amulet which quan chi is in possession of. Onaga didn’t seem bothered by what the deadly alliance were doing as what Onaga did would’ve overruled their power anyway so he probably would’ve allowed them to flourish had quan chi not had possssion of the amulet. Onaga didn’t hate any of them they were merely in the way of his goals which he wanted the amulet but with the power of the kamidogu of course he was super powerful. Also after shao Kahn initially had to poison onaga this was the beggining of shao Kahn’s rise to power himself. When shao Kahn served Onaga as his ambassador, shao kahn was NOT anywhere near the power he would be during the events of mk1-2. The events where shao Kahn was outmatched by Onaga happened long ago it’s the story of shao kahn BEFORE kahn became emperor and he may have been outmatched by Onaga at that time REASONABLY as Kahn was just a weak rebel at the time but after he had to poison onaga, shao Kahn became emperor and HE grew far more powerful than he was. The shao Kahn that had to poison Onaga was a far weaker version of shao kahn than was introduced to us already as emperor in mk2. Shao Kahn in mk2 was worlds stronger than the version of Kahn that was only onagas minion at the time. Basically shao kahn was nowhere near hisnown potential during the time of onagas rule and while Onaga did outclass shao Kahn it’s bcuz it’s NOT the same level shao kahn that again was introduced to us. People get that confused but realistically Onaga during his peak of outworld rule and kahn during his peak in outworld rule as emperor himself during the events of mk1-2 are not far in power. It’s only the shao Kahn that has to poison Onaga long ago before kahn became emperor himself that Onaga outclassed. So don’t get it confused that a far inferior version of shao Kahn that wasn’t even emperor of outworld yet is the one that has to poison Onaga and that’s the version of kahn that Onaga was superior to. It was shao kahn as his minion that Onaga outclasses NOT the emperor of outworld shao Kahn that replaced Onaga at this point shao Kahn perhaps even surpassed his master if not just a very small bit. This is shown when they are on equal terms and they respect shao Kahn over onags in Armageddon and yes onagas return in deception was huge but it was a reputation thing where the ancient emperor returns and happened when shao Kahn was weakened himself and out in hiding so no one left to challenge him. At this point it was not Emperor Onaga anymore it was kamidogu Onaga in power where he has possession of all the kamidogu. In Armageddon Onaga comes back to life reverted back to his original power when he was emperor before he obtained the kamidogu in deceptions intro story, and Onaga falls to the shao Kahn of the battle power Kahn is as emperor Kahn. The problem is Onaga knew shao Kahn had grown far more power as emperor than Kahn was as onagas minion but he still believed he could defeat him without the kamidogu and this is where he was proven false and Kahn killed him in Armageddon that is what is wanted to be implied even if not directly shown. Also the elder gods do not fear emperor Onaga in battle power or as emperor on his own, they feared onagas during the events of deception where he gathered all the kamidogu but it was more or less what Onaga could or would do merging all the realms releasing the one being itself and that’s what they feared onagas actions the same way they didn’t directly fear shao kahn himself in mk9 they feared what he could or would do releasing the one being thru merging of the realms which is precisely why they worried and had to stop shao Kahn. Just had to clear up a few facts from the video that were wrong here. The elder gods don’t directly fear anyone they are strong enough to take anyone and everyone out directly they fear anyone’s ability to bring back the one being through that villains actions (shao Kahn and Onaga). To be clear Onaga without the kamidogu is normal Onaga in power which is emperor Onaga that version of the real Onaga without the massive power up the kamidogu gives him which is still powerful but nothing like the Onaga displayed in deception,in Armageddon Onaga fears shinnoks power difectly mentioning if shinnoks plans go through Onaga would be amongst the dead himself he once again mentioned defeating shao Kahn in Armageddon (didn’t happen) and obtaining blazes power and only then would he confront and defeat shinnok and while that didn’t happen either it had him directly imply he needed blazes power (similarly to the kamidogu) to defeat shinnok. Also in onagas false ending in deception he defeats the elder gods AFTER Merging the kamidogu becoming the one being however that was a level above Onaga with the kamidogu alone as He has successfully fused the kamidogu obtaining the one beings power but it never actually happened it’s what if events. Onaga shao Kahn and shinnok are the three most powerful beings with their own goals howver on their own in their own full power Shinnok is naturally the strongest being as a full power elder god that killed most normal gods and nearly destroyed all the realms and all the elder gods in a long war where shinnok was barely defeated after a long war. He was weakened after these events but naturally he was always the palpatine of villains Onaga originally was second and stronger than everyone else after shinnok including shaonkahn however after Kahn had to initially poison Onaga who outclassed Kahn in battle,Kahn became emperor himself and with time became far stronger than the version of Kahn that had to poison Onaga. Shao Kahn was massively more powerful after becoming emperor himself than the version that Onaga outclassed so Kahn eventually surpassed his master after his death after merging realms and endless battles so Kahn became the second strongest long after onagas death and he surpassed the power as emperor tjat Onaga perhaps had as emperor. Onaga knowing this during his death only was more justified to gather the kamidogu so once revived shao Kahn would not challenge him again in deceptions time but once the kamidogu were lost and Onaga reverted to his original battle power before his original death Kahn, the Kahn version that grew exponentially in power after onagas death proved too much for his master and killed him in Armageddons power. With the kamidogu Onaga is the strongest but naturally without any power ups shinnoks is stronger than either of them. However even he’s been surpassed as kronica is introduced snd she has the power to undo anyone with her time powers alone in an instant she is extremely over powered stronger than an elder god shinnok that nearly destroyed all the elder gods and realms himself stronger than Onaga and shao Kahn. Kronica is extremely poweful however she’s extremely stupid and the most arrogant of all the villains knowing her power is so vast that no one else could match her and it led to her own defeat as she literally allowed everyone good and bad to unite in order to defeat her and it worked!
It’s possible shinnok didn’t restore Onaga to full power, to preserve himself from another huge threat. Kind of like how darth sidious making the suit the way it is for darth Vader
Onaga was shao Kahn’s master and Shinnok was Onagas master. Shao Kahn served Onaga, and Onaga served Shinnok. Shinnok did not fear Onaga,it was Onaga who feared Shinnok
So if the mk1 trailer is true and shang stung dies from lui Kang. Kahn should be teased as the actual boss until onaga annihilates him and is real boss
This guy needs to make a come back and beat the living Shit out off Shall Kahn.
Respect and keep up the epic work.
🦖: Shao Kahn is brutal in his own right. Making even Kahn scared to fight, is no easy feat... 👀👀
I thought Shao Kahn was possessed by Onaga in MK 11 thus the reason why he appears as a half Dragon hybrid.

I guess it’s time!! He’s the boss for the new MK, Mortal Kombat 1
He has long been overdue a return
Midway not bringing him back every bc he op and people going be crying about how op he is
Exactly, NRS only focused on screwin up the 2D era for the last 3 games.
I agree
He'll be in the next one
Onaga made my favorite MK intro in Deception memorable. He made Tsang Sung, Quan Chi, and Raiden work together.
Yep. And Shao Kahn had to poison him in the first place to take Outworld from him. Onaga was a total BAMF.
@@darthmeticulous6901 The poison who kill him could be re introducted has a powerfull like subtence who could easely hurt gods and literally vaporide peupol in place.
@@darthmeticulous6901You know you're a beast if Shao Khan, of all people, has to poison you just so he has a chance at beating you.
I really want onaga to make a comeback because he’s such a great villain.
So did I
He needs better fatalities so yes he has to make a comeback. I’ve already thought of 2 fatalities on the spot
Yes with a real story line
@@fanofmediastuff269 what’d you have in mind?
Shao Kahn basically became what Shang Tsung became in aftermath his power level went far beyond
What it originally was supposed to have been. Imagine if shao Kahn had his souls from
Mk3 he would crush onsgs so quickly.
@@fernandoenamorado2480 I wonder if Onaga can become strongers by absorbing soul to 🤔
@@fernandoenamorado2480 midway made the intro of Armageddon with the idea that taven would be the one to win it all.
I like when onaga originally ruled out world, it was relatively peaceful and the Realms were not as bad off. But it's only when he died that he fell corruptible.
Liu Kang made it so he never died. Onaga is ruler in MK1.
Onaga never got rid of Shinnok, totally wrong there.

I said the same thing. The Sam way shao Kahn served Onaga, onagas master was Shinnok.
I think he meant to say Shang tsung instead of shinnoks name at that moment and got them confused lol
I wish we could've had onaga as the villian like the mkx comics teased..
Maybe not a villain but definitely an anti-hero being he never caused trouble for the other realms, I would find it funny if Fire God Liu Kang went back in time and saved Onaga from being poisoned by Shao Kahn, lesser of two evils I guess.
Look at onaga"s unused ending.
That seems to be the case in MK1. Onaga is ruler.
That’s because his will was that powerful vs every other ruler of outworld they always succumbed to the one beings influence to merge the realms. Onaga resisted this and went on his own path which led shao khan to do what he did to get power and merge the realms
Mk deception was such a good game
I miss being young playing deception at times it actually was the perfect Mortal Kombat Game

For the love of god nrs bring this man back, he’s literally a dragon who doesn’t want that in the mk universe?! We need more characters like onaga and less special forces characters. Onaga was the real deal imagine a cinematic fight scene between Shao Kahn and Kotal Kahn and Onaga just emerges and beat the crap out of the two of them to take his throne back, how epic would that be
Would be legendary. I’d pay money to watch that in a theater.

Whoever designed Onaga was a genius. Youd think Shao Kahn was terrifying.
Shouldn't he be named "Onaga Kahn" since emperors (and empresses) have the surname Kahn?
I wonder why Kronika never mentioned Onaga during MK11
Because he’s been dead long before the events of mortal kombat 1 and after and there was no need to reverse time that far back

So if the mk1 trailer is true and shang stung dies from lui Kang. Kahn should be teased as the actual boss until onaga annihilates him and is real boss
Lots of disclosure here
So where does he rank as relates to the likes of a Kronica
Shujinko. Not Shujinku
Strong yes but to insinuate he is the strongest is laughable
Maybe not overall, but he’s up there. So is Shao Kahn.
@@darthmeticulous6901 He almost in top 10

And he mentioned he would defeat shao Kahn blaze and only
After obtaining blazes power would he then go to defeat shinnok. At this point it was not
Emperor Onaga anymore it was kamidogu Onaga in power where he has possession of all the kamidogu. Also in onagas false ending in deception he defeats the elder gods AFTER Merging the kamidogu becoming the one being however that was a level above Onaga with the kamidogu alone as
He has successfully fused the kamidogu obtaining the one beings power but it never actually happened it’s what if events.
Not really tho
So if the mk1 trailer is true and shang stung dies from lui Kang. Kahn should be teased as the actual boss until onaga annihilates him and is real boss
