Hello people. I hope you enjoy this video. I have listed numerous videos in the description box. Here is a video which may interest you. How to grow Brussels sprouts that don't blow!! Sow to harvest ua-cam.com/video/162dKITGY9c/v-deo.html
It was great working with you all those years ago in healthcare you doing 11-lates 6 days a week and me early ward 6 days a week but those kind of hours catch up with you and I'm so glad you are well. I do hope you enjoy Ur job as a carer again you do excel in helping others.
I think you’re one of the best gardening UA-camrs out there, with an immense amount of knowledge that’s delivered in a really entertaining way. I could be selfish and ask you not to give it up BUT it’s what is best for you Dan and you definitely don’t need to justify yourself. You must be exhausted with all you have going on but, at the end of the day, it’s prioritising the most important. You could maybe decrease the amount of videos you put out, have less regular updates if you didn’t want to let it go. Or have a break all together for a while. You’ve left an absolute library of information for us to use and I would always stay subscribed anyway. Whatever, you decide though, I hope it’s best for you and yours because that’s the most important. Good job Dan, you’re a star, and the care home that took you on have found a real gem I think 😊
Hi Dan, I really hope you don’t quit, l love your channel and also refer to older posts throughout the year as needed such as grape pruning and tying in! You are a great wealth of knowledge and it’s great you garden in your back garden as l do, l feel inspired, l too had an allotment years ago but in the end l couldn’t keep up with both, although l missed it l don’t regret it🙏🌺
Dan, please don't leave us. Thank you for sharing honestly. You are so inspirational and motivational for your community here So sad to hear about your hernia. People in the care home surely are glad for your work too. Maybe your work is underrated and underpayd. Greetings, best wishes and love from Germany. Personally with dark winter skies I have installed 5 grow lights indoors and literally live inside kinda greenhouse. For 1,5 years of my life I was a mobile carer for elderly people here in Germany and it was just relaxing to go back to the car when driving to the next patient. Over social media people found and contacted me and now I reduce some cost of living by bartering animal products for my plant products. Also I need no car because friends and neighbors enjoy driving me while I supply them with vegetables and flowers. There is many old and retired or unemployed people who love to be involved and entertained. We just need to unite.
Dan, you're doing great. You just need to keep getting things balanced. You don't want to do too much physical labor. You don't want to do too much care taking. Figure out what you want to do more of that makes money. Keep making UA-cam videos. I enjoy them.
Hi Dan, you are an inspirational gardener and can teach us so much so glad to hear you are not planning to quit UA-cam in the near future. Although you can buy many vegetables relatively cheaply from the supermarket there is nothing like digging potatoes, carrots, onions etc and cooking and eating them an hour later. What a benefit it has been for you to become a trained carer early in your career and being able to combine it with your passion later in life when health problems or age mean you have to adapt. I don't think many watchers on UA-cam appreciate how much cost and effort goes into a video. Poor camera or audio equipment or lack of editing will soon lose you viewers and subscribers. Good to hear you have got over the health problems and hope the new balance of caring and gardening works well for you. Thank you for the videos and may you have super crops this year! Regards Keith
We all feel like that now and again Dan, so just take a step back if needed. I don't edit, but spend the time in replying to all the comments which does take quite a while. Take care my friend. Excellent video. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
I work full time drive 3 hours a day commute. Live off grid so there's always something needs doing on the homestead. I have many farm animals. I don't think there's ever a wasted minute in my day. Growing things is a passion that I would do no matter what! Our goal to be self reliant requires it though. Health is everything! Care givers are usually not the best self care givers so be mindful that you are important and need care to. Just found your channel when this video popped up in my feed. I look forward to catching up on your videos. Making videos is quite time consuming more than most folks realize. I do what I can when I can lol hope you keep posting to 😁
Your channel inspired me to start growing. I really enjoy watching your garden journey and that you are so honest about when things have not gone to plan. Some channels hide the problems that can come with gardening and finding the time to do everything, but your channel is realistic and shows that growing is still worth doing even if things do not always go perfectly. Thank you for your channel and I hope you keep going!
the beauty of youtube is that I can catch up with you every now and again and see what your up to. Been watching on and off for years. You were the first person subscribed to all those years ago. well done.
I hope you don’t quit UA-cam , you have been a true inspiration for me , so much so , I purchased a Kiwi Fruit ( jenny) , which has got I think a flower on it & also a Duo Apple Tree , which looks like it’s settling in nicely . Thank You for your informative videos ☺️
You do you Dan, always good to see how your garden grows, and you have a big library of vids full of variety advice which is great, I lost the will to edit so don't feel any pressure to produce new content just do what you enjoy and be happy
A very thought provoking video Dan 😊.... Pleased that you said part way through the video that you're not thinking of leaving UA-cam at ths present time, as I find as a small-scale grower your growing food videos are very important. You're right about how many (not all) people are struggling financially more and more and how this is impacting on people's lives, and how people are being forced into making change in respect of both their short and long term decisions. In times as this, where people are so financially effected lots of people will turn to trying to grow some of their own food and this is when such channels as yours Dan, channels that are straightforward and easy to understand become beyond that of valuable to others in helping them understand how to go about as economically as possible finding ways to gain skills to grow food. Personally I find many of these big channels that are out there and say look at my acres of land to be of very little value for me at all, as I need to know and learn different skills and techniques from others who like me need to grow food on a small-scale basis. I'm still looking forward to you making your video on when to plant melon seeds and how 'to grow melons' as my first attempt last year was a disaster 😅... All the best 👍
have loved your videos and your knowledge you have passed on has helped so many people in there endeavour in gardening and hope to see you continue on this channel
Hi Dan, I found your channel from an earlier series of videos of yours and what to sow when. I liked them because they were down to earth and zero 'faff'. I have just opened your video so yet to watch through but I hope you find a good balance to continue your work.
Howdy, Dan!👋 It's so good to hear you have healed up well.😃 I pray all works out well for you in the changes you are making in your life. This is a good video! I've learned so much from you, and I've gained a lot more confidence in certain areas of gardening...like growing grapes.🍇 I'm so confident now that I took cuttings from my vines this winter and rooted them to pass on to other gardeners.👩🏾🌾 I'm glad you aren't quitting UA-cam...you make a difference. 👍Continue to take care of yourself...spirit, soul and body.💕
You have a different perspective that is useful. Teaching others is a vital ability. Many people don’t know or understand how to garden. They think all they have to do is put a seed in the ground and they’ll get a ton of veggies, or fruit, etc. They’re misinformed, of course. Knowing how and learning how to garden is more important than buying the cheap veggies from a grocery store. One day there may not be a store where they can buy them. Where will they get the veggies then? I’ve learned the way to grow many plants and I’m still learning. But I wouldn’t have survived at the beginning if all I had was in the garden. Now, I’m not going to be overwhelmed since I have a few skills under my belt. You might be the one someone listens to and learns a new skill, etc. The choice is yours of course but I’ve been watching your channel for a long time, sometimes while not logged in. Nowadays, I log in to help you, all UA-camrs, to increase hits, etc. Keep hope even if you have to scale down. It may be for only a short while.
Love your videos so I'm glad to hear that you won't be quitting UA-cam. You are so knowledgeable and your way of presenting is refreshing, I have definitely been inspired by your videos. Totally understand when you say you need to look after yourself more, I had a life changing experience with my health six years ago which made me rethink everything. I quit my job of 15 years, went from working in finance which was soul destroying to working at a doctor's surgery which I absolutely love. I started gardening mainly so that I could have homegrown food, the quality in supermarkets now just isn't there, when we were younger vegetables had so much more flavour. I soon discovered that I really enjoyed gardening, I built up a lovely garden last year but unfortunately storm ciaran hit Jersey and we lost everything in the garden, trees, vines, sheds, the whole shebang. Barely a plant survived. We did have a few months of despair but thankfully work is being done and the garden is finally getting back to a place we can plant in. I'm late with my sowings but I am so excited, really missing our homegrown salad leaves and beautiful tasty herbs. Every new start is a journey, hope you are happier too with yours and really looking forward to seeing what you do in the garden this year. Best Wishes.
Thank you for your honesty and discussion of some important videos. I bet you're a brilliant carer. I like everyone else hope you keep going with UA-cam, there may be many gardening channels but you fill a particular area with straightforward advice and your efforts to educate us regarding exotics (I came to your channel when researching dessert grape growing and found your information invaluable). Looking forward to this season with you, I wonder if now just having the garden you will focus on time/space efficient methods. I've been working a lot on getting the patterns of succession plantings that work in my area nailed down, so that there's always something growing in each bed year round. I'm sure many people growing in smaller areas would appreciate you looking at this.
Hi again. Just my second of your videos, so I'm happy to hear your hanging in there with YT:) Ahhh, to have an inth of your energy! Even as a young woman I could exhaust myself unknowingly. I've always admired folks who could do home, babies, job, and still fit in hobbies, or work doubly hard to jumpstart their next step. It was inspiring to hear how you worked your Care Home job to set-up your gardening venture, expanding into the world of UA-cam with cameras etc.. My goodness! Back in the day, all I could do was home, kids, the odd job, and for 10years, we ran a Group Home for behaviourly challenged adults. When it was said and done, I didn't have energy to chill and socialize. But, Oh,...how I would enjoy a quiet, hot bath;0) I think it beautiful, all the juggling you're doing, and I see you especially blessed to be doing what you're loving. Niiiice:) Still, I look forward to the day, we can somehow live our lives thriving as to striving, as you mentioned. I'm 70 now, and watching the numbers of young people navigating the days with 2 and 3 jobs, atop of new stressors, well, this can't be a good thing..., and these are folks on their own. We're experiencing things we've never experienced, globally, and I welcome in the highest and best changes this great Shifting is making way for. So cheers to All, as we move as One Love ;0) Just a by-the-way, but I giggle as I consider how many times I look at something and think,....It shouldn't be this hard! At 61 I completed the 10 year charge of looking after a beauty of a human being. To be brief....I came home and flatlined, not realizing how I'd exhausted myself. Hehe, I counted a 3 year Burn-out! Anymore, embracing the mantra: No racin; just pacin', I've fallen in love with foraging. Yah, hehe, I'm addicted to Dandelion greens and amazed how resilient they are. Even in the winter, here on Vancouver Island, I can brush back snow to collect brilliant green, tender leaves. Beauty-full:) It kinda blew my mind, last summer, when they acted like they wanted to disappear. I thought, OH NO!!! hehe. Then, came to know how even weeds benefit from nurture. This Spring, my Dandy-greens are more bounty-full than ever. Now, if I can get the rest of the garden to do as well. Methinks the issue is compacted soil. Hehe, hence why I tapped into the first of your vids, to do Leaf-mold/ mould? Still, with all the work of a yard and garden, it's an amaZing playground! Thank you for being out here, with your mighty efforts, your Flow, and the support you release in your magical way, as you find balance with all those balls in the air! It's greatly appreciated, as I chime in with other comments:) 🥰
Hi Dan. I very much hope that you don't quit. You were the first (and one of the only) UK based UA-camr I found when Googling how to grow Bitter Gourd in the UK and you've been an inspiration ever since. I only watch two channels regularly - and yours is one of them. I now know far more about gardening than I ever thought I would, and have an interest/obsession that I never thought I'd have! Keep on Keepin' on!
Home Gardens is my #1 channel. Just a back to basics type of gardening with a real down to earth gardener tells it like it is, successes and failures. The other killer for me is the begging and the promotions .I do not want to donate into a fund or buy coffee ,tea, nor listen to promotions for expensive equipment .Thank you for being who you are and what you do. Can't wait for the next video
Like others said, I hope you continue. As a newcomer to the channel, your accent brought to me a bit of nostalgia as I lived in South Essex in my youth and can honestly say that I found amongst Essex people, especially working class, one of the most honest and good hearted people one could hope to find. On another note, can I ask what microphone you have?
Aah thanks. We are pretty friendly on average I guess. There are idiots amongst us as well lol! I don't have my camera with me at the moment. I will check tomorrow. It's a Sony a6000 camera with a microphone built for this camera
Well Dan it's up to you to give it up on UA-cam of your gardening, never before this you are awesome amazing cool and all over the years you done really well ❤️😊 and showing us your awesome videos thank you so much of the best vegetables and other plants ❤😊. You TC Take it easy and never before all the awesome vegetables you done to show us we all love you thanks for the amazing videos big hugs 🤗❤️😊
Hi Dan, just wanted to say to you thank you for all your videos and the time you have put into making them. You come across as a friend if that makes sense who enjoys sharing tips and your passion. My advice would be, take the pressure off yourself, that is when you feel like sharing a video just do it, and forget the need to make so many a week that sometimes youtube can make you regementally do. Enjoy making the videos for you first and the rest of your fans will enjoy them anyways as you have a natural presenting style. Ask yourself why did you start making them in the beginning and maybe your deep searching will lead you to the right decision :) I pray you have a full recovery. Simon
I have to be honest today is the first time I came across your channel, this video in fact and without even seeing it I felt a sadness. And after watching it I will say I really hope you do not stop UA-cam, I feel like I could learn a lot from your channel and there is a lack in UK channels (I’ve only seen a few) that are as informative and real like you . Just know whatever you choose to do I will be praying for you x
Excellent video Dan. I'll truly be gutted if you stop making videos but you must do what is best for you. Many of us are struggling but having a wonderful community through your channel sure does help take the sting out of all the chaos. 😊
Hi Dan. Love your channel. Im in my 50s, self employed for the last 30 years (heavy manual work). Also renovating a house so i can fully understand the work load aspect. As for hernias, Ive had two. Theyy are easyily fixed. Dont give up just be more selective on your growing and accept it will take you longer than in your 20s.
Don't quit. You are very likeable, and a better man than I with the care work you do. But also because you are gardening in exactly the same zone and weather as me! Which is so useful.
I enjoy your vids Dan and learn from them. I'm 70 and have done gardening mainly ly for myself on and off most of my life, but every day is a school day. What I like most about you is your openness, honesty and genuine ways, that's what I look for on UA-cam, anything else turns me off before long. Keep it up mate.
I've never taken on an allotment as I'd NEVER have time to work on it, I work 6 days a week full time Dan. You've probably realised that 90% of my videos are only 2 to 4 minutes long which means most of them are done in one hit and not edited at all lol. They do have the occasional errors of course but it means they aren't time consuming at all to make. Hopefully you'll keep turning out a few videos, I'll be looking forward to them 👍
Hi Dan, As you know I’m also in the same industry, have an allotment, family and a fellow youtuber and on other social media platforms. I totally get where you are coming from as on many occasions I find myself rushing about and pushing my physical boundaries in order that everything can get done, and that in itself becomes mentally tiring! I have eased up on other social media and changed a few things that I do at the allotment and what I grow at home in order that I can manage my time better. I think that for us, UA-cam is very much a hobby and a way to share information and details on our great industry that is horticulture. However, it can require quite a lot of input time and sometimes feels like hard work when already suffering fatigue. I guess my point is that you are not alone in feeling under pressure to balance, work, home and social media life. For the first time I have made a list of what videos I actually want to make for my channel, kind of giving me a more work like structure to go to. I’m not saying it will make a difference but I think the list helped me to work out what level of content is achievable with my other life commitments. Sometimes just a short break can help you to regain that energy and drive and I hope you get there and continue the UA-cam journey. All the best 🌼🌸
First yime on your channel. I found you as i have just bought a polytunnel. Brilliant! Thank you so much for your tips and perspectives. Have many years to go back and now. Thanks again.
Hi Dan, I am relatively new to your channel, and what I have watched so far has been very interesting to me, you talk a lot of sense. I hope you will stay doing videos. Going back to being a carer is a rewarding job but can be hard work. You look a kind person and that is what is needed to be a carer. I wish you well in whatever you decide to do.
I can imagine you’re a fantastic carer Dan, you’re very positive and interesting to listen to. I hope whatever path you travel along is rewarding and brings you joy! Thanks for all the super gardening knowledge you’ve passed on so far.👍
I’ve learned and tried a lot of new things because of your videos. I agree that it’s about tailoring it all to your lifestyle and finding balance. Some things I don’t grow just because I know I’m too lazy to keep up with them!
Glad to hear giving up you tube is not one of your life changes as that would be a real lose for the gardening community. Even though I live in the USA and summer garden in North Dakota in a totally different climate I find your videos information packed in an entertaining way and always so happy to see a new one come up. Whatever you do in life you will always be a gardener and making the world a little bit better place.
Hi Daniel, it's a bit of a surprise to hear that you are downsizing your gardening business, but I can see why you're doing it, because physical work gets harder as you get older. That said, care work can be quite physical too, so be careful with your back. I think you've made a wise move, as gardening is very seasonal and I can imagine your income drops considerably in the winter months, just when the bills go up, so the p/t care job will give you a steady income over the winter. I think the care home will quickly learn what an asset you are to them, as you have a very calm and kind demeanour, plus male care workers are in short supply. They may well start gently pressuring you to take on more shifts than you want, so you might need to be firm on that point. Dealing with people who have dementia takes a lot of patience and empathy, but you seem to have plenty of both and I'm sure you will be very popular with the clients and their families. My father spent his final years with dementia in a care home, so this territory is horribly familiar to me. During those years he was supported by wonderful carers who also showed great kindness to me, something I was very grateful for (especially when my father mistook me for his wife - you can imagine how perturbing that was). I had to tell him white lies on a regular basis, to spare his feelings - it is such a cruel disease. Good luck, you're doing vital work.
Yes, it was. Luckily the brilliant carers made his life as tolerable as it could be, in the circumstances. After he died we gave cash to his key carers as a thank you, it was such a small gesture but they were so grateful. There are so many families affected by dementia that you might glean many viewers if you were to set up a separate channel, where you could share your experience in this field and offer advice and support to those struggling through such situations. It could provide another income stream and provide a valuable service. @@homegardens7682
Wonderful video bro Fellow gardener here. I agree with all that you have said in this video. I too create videos on UA-cam and you are right about the time and costs but as far as hobbies go it's quite nice. Well done for reevaluating your life in order to make sure that you are looking after yourself. Hats off to you mate. I have subscribed and I'm sure I will learn loads from ya 👌🏽
@@homegardens7682 definitely. Your story is so similar to mine tbh even what you mentioned about your level 3 nvq and working as a gardener 😄 I've now transitioned into the electrical field but caring and gardening are awesome jobs
Thanks for sharing that info Dan. Hope everything works out for you , whatever you decide. I lost my mum to dementia a couple of years back. Terrible thing, it was a nightmare for my oldest sister who was caring for her.
Blimey matey a Dementia Carer is very demanding for you. The mean attitude of sufferers really takes hold as Dementia gets worse - I have seen my dear old Mum that was meek, kind and friendly deteriorate into irritable, mean and abusive telling staff some pretty hard criticisms. Mum is fine with me but the unkind unfiltered comments she says to staff must be so hard for you wonderful people. Thank you for doing this job so under-paid but massively valuable to people like me who find it hard watching the deterioration but so thankful to have staff that care. Back to gardening, over the years I have learnt loads from watching you and others. Thank you.
Hi Dan, I'm not sure if I've ever commented before and even though I don't grow much veg in my garden, due to lack of space, I do enjoy watching your videos, so I'm pleased you are continuing with you tube. I think you are such a lovely man, a true gentleman and I think the people you are caring for with dementia are very lucky to have you. You are Such a nice guy and you always give such good advice without ever being mean or nasty about anyone else's way of gardening, even if you don't agree with their ways and ideas. Keep going forward dan, and good luck with your future.
Thanks Davena. That's basically it. The way to do things one own way whilst still respecting the methods of others. Sadly, this seems to be on the decline now in our society in more ways than one.
Well , I just found your channel looking to grow grapes! I hope you are able to find the time to make more videos in this difficult time. You speak my language!
Patroen account to help with this ,set it up, it will buy equipment, and try new things, this is a very real channel and you have very easy methods to grow things simple and its not fake like other channels, keep her lit
Hello Dan. Love your videos. Do you remember working with me as a home career? Those times having to go over to Tesco and to the butchers and me falling off my bike. Fun times
Hi Dan have you thought about applying on NHS Jobs for a Healthcare Support Worker role or converting your care worker experience to a nursing role? Glad your not leaving, your compost videos are super!
I only came here from a quality gooseberry cutting video you sent out then I watch this and got a life story! …Fantastic and refreshing open and sincere after all its life and the shit that goes with it. Look after yourself first buddy then if you share your knowledge and experience it’s appreciated by the majority ✅
Hello dan ive been reading about living water fertilizer...living microbes rather than feed from shop which is dead...it mentioned grabbing a few handfulls off diff soils and then sitting in water and the microbes go into the water and u can add own bits like kelp or just any scraps and just sorta supercharge the water as a feed in a week or so even...good vid mate last part all on point...cheers again
Hi Dan, keep on going buddy , the very best gardening programme on UA-cam, you explain things the correct way that everyone understands and no doubt you've inspired loads of people , keep on trucking buddy from sunny South wales 👍
I take my hat off to you for caring for people with dementia. Sounds as though you’ve got a good strategy for the next phase of your life. It’s a good balance and you seem to be enjoying your life. That’s what it’s all about. Getting revenue from different streams (even your fruit and veggies is payment) is a good diversifying strategy. 👏
Dan please keep going never quit gardening However you tube is optional. Although we’ll miss you if you quit😊 ps. You indulgences me to taste & grow persimmons for the first time. Thanks
I have been following you for a while. Very interesting, informative and helpful information you have given me. i hope you can keep the channel going but your life and health must come first. thank you. best wishes for 2024
Hi Dan,first and foremost I have been following your channel for approx 7/8 months and I have gained so much in the way of gardening knowledge, I can assure you that should you quit UA-cam, it will be a tremendous miss .I sincerely hope you continue to share your experience with us .stay good, saeed.
Love your channel Dan. If you need to bail for yourself then I'm sure everyone will understand. You'd be missed a lot by a lot. Look after yourself brother.
Glad to hear your not quitting utube Dan and i think it's wise to scale back on the allotment. You have a big garden, lots of fruit trees, a poly tunnel and plenty of ground space to grow veg on. I first started watching your channel Dan, when i was searching for a utube, to find who was growing tropical fruit in the UK. Thats when i saw your video about the mango 🥭. Since then i watch regularly, i dont always comment but i do find your videos very interesting and informative.
@homegardens7682 better than before, does get a bit stiff now and then. Recently, I got a raised bed allotment in November, no digging involved or bending as it's a few feet off the ground, roughly 49 square feet. I'll be doing some vlogs about it soon.
Hey Dan, love your videos and all your content. I understand doing what's right by you, I'm just glad we've been given all that you've provided thus far. If you do hang up the youtube hat for your own sanity haha, hoping you leave the channel and videos up for us to browse, as you are my (and i'm sure many others') first stop to hit for best info on anything garden related. Much love man, stay sane mate lol
Might be good idea perhaps KEEP gardening only because you do enjoy it and because you care for dementia clients. Reason is the care does have moments you will need your gardening enjoyment to reboot yourself. Caregivers do need to have a way to care for themselves so as not to get burned out. You definitely love, and we love you sharing your gardening and knowledge. Gardening just might be good for you to do and share, and unwind as it's like we would be able to still relax our lives too watching.
Game across your video you still gardening hope so reaching out in Scotland want to try find out best place in United Kingdom I want to order purple raspberry royalty variety have you grown it is it good in United Kingdom do you think it would be successful in Scotland when where can I get some thanks
Hi Dan, you have to do what's best for you cos in the long run you, and to an extent, your family, deal with the ramifications of your decisions, good and bad. You're one of the reasons i took my allotment onto UA-cam and i get 100% that it has its associated costs and issues in itself. You need to do you, right now and that will always be the best decision. All the best buddy. Jason. 🤝
Mental fatigue and physical fatigue take their toll eventually but once spring shows itself you will be a different person with a different mentality. You have a good all-round outlook on life and self satisfaction will be yours I guarantee it.
Growing your on food is move about taste rather than price you would pay tomato 🍅 from vin to table 😋 shop tomato no flavour ect hopefully you will still post videos
Viewers brining you money. All depends if is worth it to have channel and if you feel successful. Small channel wish to have what you have. You will know when you ready. Just slow down, keep your content and one day you will take decision for your next step. 🌞
@@homegardens7682 cheers Dan, I was a bit concerned cos all( except my Cherry tree) my other fruit plants are budding, even my Kiwi, which I’m happy to see looking forward to see how much growth my Grape & Kiwi put on this 2nd year. I assumed the Kiwi would be one of the last to bud but it started about 10 days ago. Cheers mate and pls keep on Youtubing ✌🏽🌎🌻
We need gardeners and we need care workers. some of your residents would react and like a little potting up of flowers in pots maybe or like a bunch of daffodils in the sitting room. adaoes the home have a activity day. Im wondering if the home needs a gardener too. Great use of your garden and hope you can keep your you tube. Music helps with dementia, could you play the residents a tune or two. Whatever you do keep well.
I hope you stay dan. Lots of youtube gardeners but none like you who make videos for us people that don't have money falling from the sky. You don't make silly gimmick you just give great information that helps especially me to understand gardening. Also dan you made me realize how out of touch from nature I was I've also realized that nature can take care of us if we treat her with live and compassion like you do. Dan if you do leave j wish you nothing but the best my good friend. Stay blessed and keep potting my broski. Lots of love from your friends here joey and Selina from London uk

Thanks for your kind words. Send my greetings to Ned Flanders!
Hi Dan,
I really hope you don’t quit, l love your channel and also refer to older posts throughout the year as needed such as grape pruning and tying in! You are a great wealth of knowledge and it’s great you garden in your back garden as l do, l feel inspired, l too had an allotment years ago but in the end l couldn’t keep up with both, although l missed it l don’t regret it🙏🌺
Loads of grape stuff coming up Lisa! Indeed, allotments can be very time consuming etc.
please don't quit, I love following your journey throughout the year
I'm here to stay!
Dan, please don't leave us.
Thank you for sharing honestly.
You are so inspirational and motivational for your community here
So sad to hear about your hernia.
So true. That's what we really need to do. Care work can leave you with a nice relaxation sometimes I must say.
Dan, you're doing great. You just need to keep getting things balanced. You don't want to do too much physical labor. You don't want to do too much care taking. Figure out what you want to do more of that makes money. Keep making UA-cam videos. I enjoy them.
Great advice as usual Brett which I will be adhering to.
Cheers Keith. Plenty of super crops to come hopefully.
We all feel like that now and again Dan, so just take a step back if needed. I don't edit, but spend the time in replying to all the comments which does take quite a while. Take care my friend. Excellent video.
♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Cheers Terry. I remember watching your channel in the early days. Time flies.
@homegardens7682 just a few channels then and now 1000's only get one hour in a morning to watch any content.

Good luck to you Dan with whatever you decide to do. I hope you know you have made a difference to people’s lives in the gardening UA-cam community.
Thanks so much.
I do what I can when I can lol hope you keep posting to 😁
Your a very busy person! Plenty of posts to come!
Always my pleasure.
You're a top bloke Dan,physically and mental health come first, look after yourself, respect.
Very true indeed.
the beauty of youtube is that I can catch up with you every now and again and see what your up to. Been watching on and off for years. You were the first person subscribed to all those years ago. well done.
Indeed. Its a great way to record gardening information for the future.
My pleasure indeed.
You do you Dan, always good to see how your garden grows, and you have a big library of vids full of variety advice which is great, I lost the will to edit so don't feel any pressure to produce new content just do what you enjoy and be happy
Great advice there.
Yes, ultimately here in the UK the average person has a relatively small growing space. Melons video not long now.
have loved your videos and your knowledge you have passed on has helped so many people in there endeavour in gardening and hope to see you continue on this channel
I will be carrying on!
Hi Dan, I found your channel from an earlier series of videos of yours and what to sow when. I liked them because they were down to earth and zero 'faff'. I have just opened your video so yet to watch through but I hope you find a good balance to continue your work.
I will be continuing.
Howdy, Dan!👋
It's so good to hear you have healed up well.😃
I pray all works out well for you in the changes you are making in your life.
This is a good video! I've learned so much from you, and I've gained a lot more confidence in certain areas of gardening...like growing grapes.🍇
I'm so confident now that I took cuttings from my vines this winter and rooted them to pass on to other gardeners.👩🏾🌾
I'm glad you aren't quitting UA-cam...you make a difference. 👍Continue to take care of yourself...spirit, soul and body.💕
Cheers Valorie. Loads to come.
Your help is much appreciated.
Dan. Hope you stay with us. However I do understand the life decisions have to be made.
I will be staying Stephen.
Best Wishes.
oh yes finance can be incredibly stressful. I am sure you will have a productive season this year.
Hi Dan please don't quit your gardening channel it's very good and always lots of good information.
I am here to stay!
Thats a plan for this year. To always have something to eat from the garden.
But, Oh,...how I would enjoy a quiet, hot bath;0)
I think it beautiful, all the juggling you're doing, and I see you especially blessed to be doing what you're loving. Niiiice:)
Still, I look forward to the day, we can somehow live our lives thriving as to striving, as you mentioned. So cheers to All, as we move as One Love ;0)
Just a by-the-way, but I giggle as I consider how many times I look at something and think,....It shouldn't be this hard!
Beauty-full:)
It kinda blew my mind, last summer, when they acted like they wanted to disappear.
Thanks for your lovely comment. No racin just pacin. I love it!

Next video will not be too long.

Ask yourself why did you start making them in the beginning and maybe your deep searching will lead you to the right decision :)
I pray you have a full recovery.
Simon
Thanks Simon for the lovely words.
Thanks so much. Loads to come.
Excellent video Dan.
I'll truly be gutted if you stop making videos but you must do what is best for you. Many of us are struggling but having a wonderful community through your channel sure does help take the sting out of all the chaos. 😊

Don't quit! I love your channel. I'm in the US but I love you pushing the growing zone and growing fruit trees in poly tunnels
Oh yes the peaches and Nectarines do great in the tunnels!
Hopefully you'll keep turning out a few videos, I'll be looking forward to them 👍
That's it Brett. I imagine your industry is a rather tough one as well. I need to drop into your channel sometime again and see what your up to.
Hi Dan,
As you know I’m also in the same industry, have an allotment, family and a fellow youtuber and on other social media platforms.
I will be continuing no doubt.

Cheers Jeffrey. Loads to come.
Bless. That must have been hard for you Tracy. xx

Fellow gardener here. I agree with all that you have said in this video. I too create videos on UA-cam and you are right about the time and costs but as far as hobbies go it's quite nice.

Thanks for sharing that info Dan. Hope everything works out for you , whatever you decide. I lost my mum to dementia a couple of years back. Terrible thing, it was a nightmare for my oldest sister who was caring for her.
Its such a cruel disease. Impacts everyone. Love to your oldest sister.
Thank you.
Indeed. It can be demanding but very rewarding. I got spat at yesterday lol!
I first started watching your channel Dan, when i was searching for a utube, to find who was growing tropical fruit in the UK. Thats when i saw your video about the mango 🥭. Since then i watch regularly, i dont always comment but i do find your videos very interesting and informative.
Thanks Louise and I hope your shoulder is OK.
@homegardens7682 better than before, does get a bit stiff now and then. Recently, I got a raised bed allotment in November, no digging involved or bending as it's a few feet off the ground, roughly 49 square feet. I'll be doing some vlogs about it soon.
@louiseahmedtropicalplantgr5000 cool. Let me know when they are up. I will take a look.
I will try! Loads to come!
Love your honesty in videos mate. Glad to hear you are carrying on with you tube. You need Rhubarb in 👍

Love your videos. Glad you’re better. Wish you made more but life gets in the way I understand that. Do what you love. Maybe do 1 longer vid a month
A great idea there.
It’s sounds like your a good person with a big heart. You deserve to do what is good for you spiritually as well as practically
Thanks for your kind words. Loads to come.
Im so glad that you are staying on youtube. You had me worried x
I will still be here!
Great advice there. Oh yes I will be gardening still. Loads to come.
mate i wish you all the best in what ever you decide you shown us the good n the bad respect from nz
Cheers. Loads to come.
I'm in Essex and I've only just found you, need some help with starting off my Tumbling Toms, looking for a follow up to the video from 6 years ago!

Jason. 🤝
Cheers Jason. I hope your allotment is going well.
@homegardens7682 so far so good.
I will be carrying on Mark.
Your videos have been very helpful over the time I been watching them, I hope things still remain fruitful in the future
Cheers man,. Lots coming up.

Wishing you all the best, Dan. I love your videos.

More to come.
Viewers brining you money. All depends if is worth it to have channel and if you feel successful. Small channel wish to have what you have. You will know when you ready. Just slow down, keep your content and one day you will take decision for your next step. 🌞
Great advice there.
Dan whatever you do I know you will be successful and I can only wish you the best of luck.
I will be carrying on!
Hi Dan, can you tell me when approx Grape vines start budding? I’m in same region of the country as you.
Hi Dave. Normally about mid April sometime. Depends on weather etc. In my experience they are one of the latest fruiters to bud out.
@Kiyarose3999 oh yes I intend to. Will be less often content probably but longer videos. Keep going with the gardening Dave
@@homegardens7682 Nice one, yeh cheers Dan
We need gardeners and we need care workers. some of your residents would react and like a little potting up of flowers in pots maybe or like a bunch of daffodils in the sitting room. adaoes the home have a activity day. Im wondering if the home needs a gardener too. Great use of your garden and hope you can keep your you tube. Music helps with dementia, could you play the residents a tune or two. Whatever you do keep well.
I have had these ideas. Would be lovely.
