    It's refreshing to follow when someone actually knows what they are doing. Thanks.

    I’ve just finished a cr80 92 full rebuild, some young lad took it apart 2 years ago and I literally had a box of bolts, but all running now thanks to pics from Haynes manual, can relate to thrust washers missing, had to wait weeks for them to arrive from Netherlands

    Pretty crazy that missing 1 little washer could do that but that's why it's there. Good video cool to see people fixing the 500s.

    Another great video! Sorry to see you will need a new right case and some new gears. The prices of those parts are crazy! I looked up some on ebay.

    If I’m not mistaken the washer you removed from behind the clutch basket nut looked like the missing thrust washer??

    I seen somewhere that you can get a kit for a 6 speed for the mighty CR500

    I had similar serious gearbox issues with my air cooled CR480 and had to buy a complete bottom end from the wreckers so as not to shell out for a new pair of genuine crankcases..Years before my poor brother also suffered an engine disintegration on his CR250M Elsinore when the rod snapped after a high speed run when racing..His bike was scrapped..Show this video to the Kaplan's here on YT.

    I have a question I have a 1990 Honda CR 250 my question is what brand of gaskets do you use to put the motor together also to the cylinder head has a residue of coolant leaking the bolts are not loose is it the gasket bad or the head is bad also too on the crutch side the clutch cover is not leaking the other one is could it be a bad gasket the bolts are tight on that side

      I have never had a problem with any after market gasket kit. Athene, winderosa, moose, tusk, cometic etc. Everyone will say use oem but they are impossible to get. Just dont buy singles that look like someone made them in their basement and you will be fine. Everything sounds like gaskets on your bike.

    WOW those gears are destroyed. It looks like they rebuilt the engine, and then the gears broke. The crank, piston, head and cylinder all look perfect, almost brand new. Are you going to be able to get new transmission gears? Do you replace The whole set when you find them like that?
    Excellent video and it looks like a fun build. Please keep the videos coming, I really enjoy you bringing these old bikes back to life! Great job!

    Awesome! Im a 80's honda nutt also. Say, quick question, Im on a budget, just like you and I was wondering for a way to clean up the rear alloy rim, its buggered up pretty good and I cant afford a new excel, its in great shape except for the rim, looking for a dull silver look.🤠

    • @TNTMOTO
      @TNTMOTO  2 роки тому +1

      if it is not damaged you can sand off the anodizing and them cerekote it with clear. or you look for the best rim you can find on ebay and polish it up

    shame about the case and gears, that looks like its been done with a mig welder. i had a bike with welded cases a while back had absolutely no confidence in it ( even though it worked fine) guy in the US makes these cases with a cnc machine BUILT cr 500 wagner ( from memory) is the guys name and all the gear components but they aint cheap.
