I’ve had the VSS Fault and Limp Mode. I’ve been told that it’s the battery definitely with not enough power. I e upgraded to a larger battery and now a 2nd battery in the frunk and a battery isolator so I definitely have all the lights and a big sound system. Upgrade the fuses to larger fuses also to keep these codes from happening.

It is the steering sensor and I went through this for over a year from the place I bought it but I took it to another dealer and they fixed it in ten days. No more problems!

Thank you for sharing these problems and resolutions with the Ryker. Can-Am did not give me a screwdriver when I purchased My 2020 Ryker Rally in 2019. The VVS code issue may not apply to my Ryker. 😀

Awesome video today. I bought my 2021 Rally back in June and I've seen the shop five times . Module has been replaced twice, and just yesterday I limped to the shop. Now they tell me there's dampeners for the steering that are on order. I'm fifty mile from the shop one way. Hate that I may have to use your fix trick but. THANKS
That clunking sound they say is normal but man it sounds bad, I always take off lightly to ease it into gear before getting crazy. The one thing that gets me is my gas gage is way off I can drive mine for a good hour before it goes even down 1 bar and I'll have 2 bars left and it goes into limp mode for low gas. The gearing is my other complaint the rpms are way to high when you are going like 70, 75 on the highway. With all that said I still love mine and would buy it again they are so much fun.
Bro my VSS fault like came on about 4hrs ago, I unhook the batter for 9min, hooked it back up, started it up with no problems, anything I should check for or do after this happens? There were no other lights that came on
Thank you for that advice, however I unhooked the battery for 15 minutes , hooked it back up and drove it for 50 miles hoping that the VSS code would disappear. Did not work it's on its way back to the shop again for the fourth time. I did get in touch with BRP and they gave me one more year extended warranty for free however when it sits in the shop for weeks , no use, this has became a useless thing for me, and I'm still making the monthly payment and insurance, and taxes this has not been a good investment . The mechanic tier in Columbia South Carolina only clear the codes and give it back to you only for the code to come up again and again! Thank you for responding and stay safe!
I’ll definitely try that when I get home this evening. I have a 2020 Riker with about 1200 miles on it and when I went to start it this morning it wouldn’t start and I got the VSS code. I called the dealership and the service tech said I would have to bring it in because it’s not something I can likely fix myself. It certainly won’t hurt to try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it before taking it all the way back to the dealership this weekend.
So I have less than a hundred miles on my bike. I've had it almost two years (in October) and decided to start it tonight. It's been a few months, probably, since I started it. The battery was dead. Put trickle charger on it. It started. I let it run, but it has that VSS code now. It is garaged, though. Thanks for other information. I will see if I get a code on mine. The other information was so helpful. I got that clunking the first time and it felt like something fell off of it or I ran over something.
I had some friends (combined weight over 500lbs) riding my 900 and they went up a long steep hill and as they peaked the hill the Ryker died out and came to a rolling stop. The codes were "VSS Fault" and "check key" and noticed the "Electonic Module" 10a fuse was blown. The Ryker has aftermarket front LED lights, Rear luggage brake lights, and Sling mod TricFenderz Split Color LED Front Fender Running Light Strips and OEM battery. I had these mods since 2021 the year of the Ryker but only now it blew a fuse. I haven't found out the cause of the blown fuse yet.
@@kingjoffyjoe413 After looking at it carefully, I noticed the slingmod front fender running light strips are off, so this might be it but I can't find any pinched wire, so I just unplugged the light strip. Ryker is running great!
Mine did the death wobble taking a left turn and I got stuck 24 miles away from home and I held full throttle the whole time and it never went over 41mph..
It worked for me the first time I got the VSS Fault but then ten mins later I lose power going 75 and the error pops up again and now I’m in limp mode. I again unscrewed the battery cables for 15 mins but this time it didn’t work. So I limp mode it all the way home. I also tried what you said about the codes but no codes appeared across the screen. Not the way I want to spend the last good month left before the drastic temperature drop
So tell me more about this tune-up that was done to the Riker so it could go 50 if the fault was going on. A tune-up or something? Gopd info in this video

My spyder seems to have squeaky brakes when we are doing a lot of twisty Mountain roads... But I noticed hubby's Harley also has squeaky brakes, lol. The squeak goes away when we're done riding those kind of roads.

Took it into the shop they kept it two weeks and replaced the yaw sensor. Took it out Saturday and it worked fine, but Sunday it through the sensor code again. Have to take it back to the shop again and it already spent two weeks in the first time. This appears to be a major problem that can am Rikers share. My Riker is new and I still have six more months on the factory warranty and I am now hoping it throws the code two more times and that will qualify lemon law in South Carolina and force Can-Am to buy this piece of s*** back.
The words fuel sensor came across my display then disappeared, the engine cut of but turn back on when I restarted it but now my engine light is on. Scared to ride because I think it might leave me stranded By the way thanks for the UA-cam content it helped me alot from my grill and a bunch of other shit you did Much appreciated bro

I change all my light bulbs to LED. Less amps produce more light and last longer. How many amps is the alternator?

Is the VSS issues a reason to not buy a ryker? I am looking at a 2019 600 with 1000 miles but concerned about this becoming a nightmare.

Go into the menu then go into settings and it should say codes

I personally haven't had that many issues the one in this video I had but other than that not too many knock on wood

Put it in dyno mode if you have power vision it keeps the codes from popping up

Unhook the battery for about 15 minutes hook the battery back up drive it as fast as possible for as long as possible the code will go away
